    I run a Mac 1/2, 3/8, and a dewalt 20v drill as well as a 12v impact driver, and a 3/8 cordless ratchet. I've had everything but the drill for several years now and I have very little in the way of complaints. I've had the ratchet rebuilt twice now and a lot of it was abuse. I finally blew up my 3/8 impact after again, abuse. I beat on my tools every day in a truck and equipment shop on anything and everything. I think they're pretty good tools. I also bought the stubby pneumatic 1/2 and 3/8 impact bundle and I absolutely love them.

    I've been making the switch from Milwaukee myself. Hard to give up the 1/2" mid and full torque guns though. I did switch over to the new Dewalt 3/8 and Mac 1/4 and love them. I went Snap On for the ratchets. I bought the Brute and know what you mean about slow, I actually thought the battery was almost dead the first time I used it. The only 12volt Milwaukee I have at work is my little screw gun. Love that thing, and I only have to keep one battery around it lasts so long.

  • @Dubsspeed
    @Dubsspeed 3 года назад +2

    The battery ratchet is a must have. The 3/8s especially! Use mine daily! Drop it more often than i will admit and it's held up nicely so far. The speed of it is perfect for automotive work i have zero completions in that aspect. Like he said how fast do u really gotta go cuz its quick enough to toss a bolt songwriter if u ain't ready sometimes lol. Only issue is mine personally is a bit difficult to switch from forward to reverse and vice versa. Not everytime but 80%of the time u goes want to switch it either that or u gotta tap the trigger and try it again. I've had it warrantied for the head lockin up on me already and figured my other issue would be fixed just because they would pull apart and fix the lock up problem but sadly I'm not convinced they did anything but clean the outside off. Say that cuz i got it to unlock itself with 10 minutes of finesse so it was free when sent off... and when came back obviously still free but switch still hard to turn but it's still going so far so I'm happy. Idc if they actually did anything internal or not tho just cuz its survived this long with the amount i abuse it lol. I give it an 8/10 . They do do a good job cleaning up the tool before sending back to u tho so that's a plus !!

    I’ve had the MAC 12V 1/4” brushless impact wrench for almost two years, and great - but it’s always annoyed me that MAC won’t make that gun in 3/8” drive - I had to buy the DeWalt instead. I even tried to swap the motor & anvil from the DeWalt to see if it would fit the MAC 1/4” gun, but they’re just different enough to not be cross-compatible. I wonder if MAC plans on releasing their version of the DeWalt 1/2” DCF903…

      A thin “butter knife” (I.e. very thin and totally blunt) to peel them up, my old shops tyre machine came with one, then alcohol/sticker/tar & glue remover to take off the residue.
      Alternatively (never tried it) but there’s plastic razor blades which are cheap enough and non marring, would fit in a standard scraper.

    Thinking about getting the MAC 3/8 ratchet and 3/8 impact combo #MCK12203D2. I am on the DeWalt platform now. So, the 12V DeWalt work with the 12V MAC and 20V DeWalt work with the 20V MAC. I don't have any of the 12V DeWalt batteries, do the 20V DeWalt work with the 12V max or is it a different attachment and it's only 12V to 12V?

      I love the Snap On 14.4 ratchet and impacts they are great. The Milwaukee is the strongest by far but after they are used they have a bunch of battery slop in them to the point where the m18 batteries will slide forward and loose contact. The M12 like in the stubby especially will rattle loose and drop out of the bottom.
      Each have issues. None are perfect. Just pick your poison.
