Im in Florida and this is fantastic for cutting swamp cabbage.
This is a very fast light weight axe that takes a hell of an edge. It is a very dangerous tool. Your safety concern is justified

That's a use for it I never would have thought of. Thank you for sharing. And you are right. It is dangerous

Its a good cutting axe. I haven't had much luck splitting with it but it chops pretty good. Ive had mine since 2003 or so, and its still going strong.
It will bend though, so no side to side prying.

That's a super durable ax. I've been abusing mine for almost 30 years. I love it.

I find it hard to beat. Yeah there are fancy and expensive ones put there but I still say you can't beat the estwing

Very good video. I have that same Axe but haven't used it yet. I've been using the 18.5-inch Axe and the 13-inch Sportsmans Hatchet. I like Estwing because I don't have to worry about the Head ever becoming lose.

I’m an arborist and use the axe for root pruning. It works great.

I really like these for a hard use axe. They aren't very expensive so you don't feel badly using them. Like, really using them. Also, as you noted, they are not great splitting axes due to their thin shape. But for hard use they are sharp and pretty much indestructible.

They are indeed hard to brake. I try and stick to smaller diameter logs and it splits those ok. But it dose cut very well.

I have bent the bit on my previous camp axe but I’d still recommend it.
I think it’s doubled in price since I made the original purchase.
