Utah 12 is one of the greatest stretches of road in the country. My brain has always called that Governors Arch. Thank you for sharing and fixing my broken brain.
IMHO, the somewhat casual nature of your channel is one of its best qualities. Personally, I've always loved making trips with little preparation and a lot of on the fly exploration. If your videos were based on detailed preparation and research they would lose their authenticity and charm.
Can't quite explain how much that really means. We're constantly struggling with wanting to make those more structured historical videos but also know that casual sometimes is what makes people stick around (at least that's how I feel about the channels we watch). 😅
I, for one, absolutely love your videos. Perfect combination of quality and down to earth commentary. Also, when you include Slims comments, is really a neat and unique addition.
Hordes of yuppies in Subarus with picnic table tablecloths are going to follow! Sorry about the unruly folks. Good for you not taking s@#*! Love your videos. Blessings.
😂 Seriously.. some of the comments we get on Instagram make it seem like we're giving away personal identities and killing puppies. It's pretty bizarre. 😅
Growing up in southern Utah, I never heard anyone pronounce the E at the end of Escalante. now I hear it all the time. Thanks for showing how beautiful southern Utah is for the folks who haven't seen it yet. And for anyone wanting to drive that road, I did the drive from Highway 89 north past the Grosnver arch to Highway 12 in my KIA Sorento. But like the sign says, a lot of the road is clay that gets super slimy when wet and impassable!
This was a beautiful tour, I can't wait to hit Hwy 12. I'm getting packed for AZ but don't know know a move date yet. I want to head up 89 to 12 and see this beauty in person. I am trading cars. I have an 2008 Honda CRV and will get a new one for the traveling I plan to do. My last CRV lasted till 2013 when it was T-boned and I got another one but was old when I got it. Now, it's time for a new one to travel in. Thanks for showing me so many beautiful places. Utah has to be my first adventure. Thanks Glenn and Amy.
Hopefully during the move you're able to stop and be in the moment through all the scenery. I know moving can be insanely stressful! Then again... maybe the scenery is just what one needs! 😄
My 02 Chevy Blazer has 180k miles on it, and it's still going strong! My family has always been a Chevy family. I own both Chevy and Ford, and I 100% believe the longevity of a vehicle dep3nds on the upkeep, maintenance, and a bit of when and where it was made. Every brand and model has their Duds.
Another great video! Thank you. You nailed the pronunciation of the cool little town of Panguitch. The areas that you visited are some of my favorites in So. Utah. Only downside is that as a So. Utah resident I can now expect the sites to be busier! 😊 Hope you know I’m just pushing your buttons!
Hahah! If we ACTUALLY had that much influence then RUclips owes us some money. 🤣 The big five get so much love that it's nice to show the smaller amazing South Utah areas as well.
Hey Glenn, Amy. Speaking on trucks, I’ve had three fords and three Tacoma’s. Fords had mostly oil leaks & and transmission problems. Of the Tacoma’s, the 6 cylinder had over heating & warped head problem. The second one somebody wanted it more than I did and took it @ 100,500mi. The last one, 1st gen 03’ I still have 350,000mi.
That’s cool to hear. Before I bought my truck, Toyota was my number 1 choice. Either a 4Runner or Tacoma. Ended up getting my truck due to a work obligation to buy as strange as that seems, but so far, I love it. But I do like Toyota as a brand and have always heard good things.
I can't believe anyone who is just sitting and watching your video would have the audacity to say your "doing a lazy job," like wth? The person is literally being lazier lol smdh, people are just ridiculous sometimes. Glen, you do a WONDERFUL job, I love the laid-back adventures and history, not always perfectly planned is adventurous, I do it all the time. If I go somewhere and something looks interesting or a road seems cool, I will go ahead and see where it goes, as long as I got the gas and the time, it's what makes it even better because it ALWAYS, ALWAYS ends up being even more interesting!
Thankfully this type of comment is an overwhelming minority of people, but you’d be surprised at how nasty some people can get. At this point, it’s just part of the game. I can tell in three words where a comment is going and move on and don’t waste my time with those. In fact, I look at it as engagement and a signal to RUclips to further promote a video. What’s more curious to me is who is on the other end. Probably someone who is hurting and miserable in some way whose only satisfaction in life is throwing poo poo like monkeys in a zoo to get a temporary satisfaction. Then I realize how sad that actually is and sometimes may even feel sorry for folks like that. Most call them trolls. For those who take the disruption too far and keep at it, we do have a button that can silence them forever by hiding them from the channel. They can continue to comment but nobody (including us) will ever know or see them. A measure we rarely take, but have at our disposal when needed. Can probably count on one hand how many times we had to use it, and really do not like to do so.
@@CactusAtlas 😆😆😆That poo poo remark, this has got to be Glenn responding this time lol (maybe not?) And yea...hurt people, hurt people...a new saying I heard someone say, it's true.

I live in Panguitch and ride Casto canyon all the time. definitely not meant for bigger cars. check out the fremont trail if you want to do some off roading in the area. if you ever make your way back hmu and i'll show you around
When it comes to cars, one person's opinion is just a single data point. I always try to read up on as many sources as I can before making a purchase. Or ask my mechanic if they see a lot of a certain model in the shop (like Nissans and their infamous CVT problems). Currently I am kinda considering a Nissan Xterra (but the gas mileage scares me a bit since I've always had cars with good fuel consumption)
@CactusAtlas Say howdy to Slim and tell him it's the name of the county that justifies the name of the scratches. Like out back Clark County. Out back Maricopa County. The artistic brushes of the west. Yee-Haa! Definitely not Paduka. That sounds like a morning sneeze. 🌄
Longtime horsewoman here. Your best bet is to take a few lessons from a reputable trainer. That will give you some good information on how you want to proceed.
Thank you! I have a fascination with them. Love them. You'll see some upcoming videos where I spend some time (not riding) but hanging out with some, and would love your opinion about something I observed (in a video that will be coming out soon about the Fruita area of Capitol Reef National Park).

Mossy Cave in the winter is really amazing! The water runs in and freezes and makes a huge natural ice sculpture.

Absolutely. There's going to be lemons with any brand, I think. One thing I was always taught is to never buy the first year of a redesign.

Casto Cyn is indeed an awesome trail. We just did this trail in August this year on out UTVs and is well worth it if you ever get the chance.
