I love that Sammy still loves to throw in the odd classic rock song, as he's done it his whole career! but now that he's an elder statesman ,and was in the biggest band ever! He can do what ever the hell he choses, especially with John Bonham's son Jason in the band! as he can hold down the beat pretty good!
+Robert G. I haven't heard your million selling CDs so no basis for comparison. IMO there are two types of guitarists. Fun ones and technical ones with overlap of course. Sammy is definitely in the fun category.
Robert G. But they're not in the hall of fame and Sammy is. Sammy is a true rocker and does a lot to keep rock n' roll relevant. Stop being so negative.
Agreed! Kiko...Gus G...Gilbert...Becker...Loomis...Impellitteri...Petrucci...Lofstad...Godin...still haven't scratched the surface. The list could literally go on and on and on.
Great video... another "Super-Group" (Chickenfoot was good too) nice! So Jason isn't playing the snare at the beginning... must be a loop... possibly paying homage to his dad John? I am gonna look for a better sounding version or at least I hope they eventually put an album (smile).
Wasn't playing at all at the start. They're using a drum track. Its the only way they could pull this off live. Zeppelin rarely ever played this one live.
@@moncorp1 Sammy said that Jason had all these clips from his dad, and when he hit the loop for this intro, Sammy loved it and they jammed on it. The reason it can't be done live is the unique microphone set up in the giant castle hallway that can't be replicated (without the castle.) :D
OK Champane97, First of all, calm down .It's not that important. I got my information from google, and they may be wrong. And as far as the lyrics go, It's rock and roll not Thoreau. And if you dislike him so much, why are you watching his videos? Anyway, Put your passion and effort towards something that matters, like friends and family. Hagar doesn't even know that we exist. And probubly don't care about our opinions either. Have a great day and long live rock and roll !!!!
***** OK mecha, if you have nothing else to do but reply to a post at 4:56 in the morning, there are bigger issues you need to deal with than Sammy Hagar. Like I told Champane, Let's focus on things that matter, not things we cannot change......
Sammy sounds great...especially for a 69 year old! I was pretty disappointed with the use of the drum machine, in this song, though. Totally unnecessary.
CookieHead Jenkins I don’t hear a drum machine at all..........it starts with The actual intro of John Bonham on the track........Jason counts the song in, takes over , the samples drops our and Jason plays the rest live!!!
No wonder Eddie's pissed at Sammy. This shows just how empty current Van Halen really is. And I say that as a huge Van Halen fan who thinks much of Van Hagar was a bit meh.
+Angus Young where did you hear that eddies pissed at Sammy?? huge classic van halen fan name 35 songs off of any classic halen album you will look it up cmon big classic halen fan name 35 songs
+Angus Young by the way if someone betrayed you and wrote a tell all book when you were at your lowest and got kicked in the head you wouldn't like that person either but no matter ed is clean and sober.he didn't have to write a book he has enough money go see a shrink if it bothered you that much I think Sammy hagar is an asshole more than people think what happened to satriani???
just seen the show in springfield ill tonite and this was the only song i really didnt care for.it wasnt bad but just kind of loud and it just carried on way to long!i i think you guys should just pick a different zepplin song like maybe candy store rock or something else off of zepplins presence album. thank you sammy for coming to little ol springfield ill, you have a lot of life long fans here please come back again soon!
I find Vic Johnson's tone flat and uninteresting when he plays covers. He's particularly uninteresting when he plays VH but he's full on drab on this cover (itself a cover, of course).
Sammy sorry kid your no Robert plant son and the guitar player are you kidding me????and sorry mikey no backing vocals that's the only thing your good at.
Saw Sammy last week, dang he does a good job covering the hits. Sammy Hagar for president
Sammy Rocks!!!
Love it. The combination of original and cover songs is great. Sammy still kills it and the band sounds excellent.
It just can't get any better than this!!!!! How do you top that!!!!!
The downbeat from Jason Bonham is the signature of his dad what a great tune from the Led Zeppelin catalog and Sammy can still bring it !!!!!!!☝👍👏🎸🎙
Multi talented Sammy Hagar. Been around for a long time. Should be inducted in the HOF again for his solo efforts.
I love that Sammy still loves to throw in the odd classic rock song, as he's done it his whole career! but now that he's an elder statesman ,and was in the biggest band ever! Love Sammy and the circle💜👍
- awesome video !!!!!!!!!!!
Interesting that Sammy plays lead on this while Vic plays rhythm and slide. I have always enjoyed Sammy's guitar. Great vocal too!
+ryde4ever Sammy sucks on guitar he's never even been in a top 20 list in guitar world or player eddie has won guitar player of the year like 7 times.
Higher than you
+Robert G. I haven't heard your million selling CDs so no basis for comparison. IMO there are two types of guitarists. Fun ones and technical ones with overlap of course. Sammy is definitely in the fun category.
Robert G. ha ha ha sounds pretty good to me
Robert G. But they're not in the hall of fame and Sammy is. Sammy is a true rocker and does a lot to keep rock n' roll relevant. Stop being so negative.
Nothing will ever eclipse the original however I'm happy to say they did it justice... good job.
Way better than what VH is serving up
+Hans Damen THEY ARE STILL PRETTY MUCH SELLING OUT ARENAS SON PLUS YOU GET TO TO SEE THE LAST GUITAR GOD WE HAVE PLAYING
+mecha gojira69 yeah okay...last guitar god...where have you been?
Um.. its about all that make up song / Show.. and I won't pay to see EV and EV. But MA.. SH.. JB.. absolutely
Yep...true fact.
Agreed! Kiko...Gus G...Gilbert...Becker...Loomis...Impellitteri...Petrucci...Lofstad...Godin...still haven't scratched the surface. The list could literally go on and on and on.
SAMMY HAGAR = born October 13, 1947
ROBERT PLANT - born 20 August 1948
Sammy is 14 months *OLDER* than Robert Plant!
lol
+Fraevo10 10 months, but yeah. I had no idea. lol That's crazy.
Yeah... and Hagar looks younger than Plant... even he looks younger than Eddie Van Halen!!!
That`s really crazy.
Everyone forgets Sammy and Montrose early 70’s.
That tequila's keepin' him preserved. :D
Wow
Damn fine recording of a superb show!!
Great band ...... good fun ...talent all around good ol rock n roll
+David Kruse YEAH THAT JIMMY PAGE IS GREAT
Great video... another "Super-Group" (Chickenfoot was good too) nice! So Jason isn't playing the snare at the beginning... must be a loop... possibly paying homage to his dad John? I am gonna look for a better sounding version or at least I hope they eventually put an album (smile).

"I was there BRUTAL Sound and the CIRCLE FLAWLESS" RESPECT 2ALL
best concert of the year at summerfest 7-4-15 I was 8 rows back on the right.
Wow Zep rarely even played this one live. I'm very impressed to my surprise.
The Circle got away with it using a drum track, that's why.
They never played it live that i know of/
@@rayallen8582 Yes they did in the early days.
Awesome video!!!!
Saw this that year in Philly, kicked ass
Sammy is at his best with a guitar in his hands.
Damn, Champane, the guys almost 70 years old and can rock like that. give a fucking break. He's awesome!!!!
OK Champane97, First of all, calm down .It's not that important. I got my information from google, and they may be wrong. And as far as the lyrics go, It's rock and roll not Thoreau. +Randy Paschal good that means a couple of more years and he's gone there is a god
***** OK mecha, if you have nothing else to do but reply to a post at 4:56 in the morning, there are bigger issues you need to deal with than Sammy Hagar. Like I told Champane, Let's focus on things that matter, not things we cannot change......
Randy Paschal what in your opinion ARE the things that matter RANDY. IS 10 THIRTY AM IN THE MORNING OK WITH YOU FATHER

Sammy sounds great...especially for a 69 year old! I was pretty disappointed with the use of the drum machine, in this song, though. Totally unnecessary.
Yeah, that is weird. Why would they do that? Jason Bonham can handle the drums on this...
CookieHead Jenkins I don’t hear a drum machine at all..........it starts with The actual intro of John Bonham on the track........Jason counts the song in, takes over , the samples drops our and Jason plays the rest live!!!
Bonham is banging every mother fucking beat.
He is the Drum Machine
Sugarcoat it all you want no excuses don't use a drum track play the song live. Jason is good enough
Bonzo jnr
Can the old clown DLR sing like this? Not likely.
Well....Sammy shit on that , I guess he's gotta fill the holes

Good genetics too

+mecha gojira69 I could easily but I can't be bothered with all that typing.
+mecha gojira69 Relax, it was a joke.
just seen the show in springfield ill tonite and this was the only song i really didnt care for.it wasnt bad but just kind of loud and it just carried on way to long!i i think you guys should just pick a different zepplin song like maybe candy store rock or something else off of zepplins presence album. thank you sammy for coming to little ol springfield ill, you have a lot of life long fans here please come back again soon!
Harp on the G-tair? WOW!
I find Vic Johnson's tone flat and uninteresting when he plays covers. He's particularly uninteresting when he plays VH but he's full on drab on this cover (itself a cover, of course).
Don't forget you're watching through a freakin' call phone recording.
He could leave a trail of fire if he wanted to.
They butchered this song. Stick to drive 55 Sammy Nice drums Jason
Sammy sorry kid your no Robert plant son and the guitar player are you kidding me????and sorry mikey no backing vocals that's the only thing your good at.
+mecha gojira69 - you need to get your ears cleaned out !!
