- kennyS's prime as a player has transcended history and become legend at this point in time.
More than four and a half years into the past, the French then 19 year old French AWP prodigy displayed the highest skill ceiling and performance peak Counter-Strike: Global Offensive had ever witnessed. A seemingly impossible degree of excellence and consistency that spanned four offline tournaments and numerous online cups, leagues and qualifiers.
Infamously, this peak came with kennyS' Titan team hamstrung and thus he was the first "best player in the world" the game had seen who lacked the help to win trophies. Yet he dominated individually nonetheless. Given all the resources, he made magic with them and defied all expectations and principles of role balance.
Nobody could play kennyS' style to the effective level he manifested and nobody could play against kennyS at the time. The mighty pronax led FNATIC, now enshrined as one of the greatest teams ever and at the time the consensus best, took numerous losses as a result of outrageous kennyS performances.
Not until NiKo's emergence in mousesports in 2016 did another player work with as little and yet stake a claim to being the best.
Not until s1mple's prime in Na`Vi, three years later, was anyone able to hit a peak of skill and performance comparable or better.
This was a run of form that stretched the boundaries of what was possible from not just an AWPer but any player in any role on any team. A black hole of excellence that sucked all eyes in towards the singularity of one young man's unquenchable fire to win no matter the odds. His flick shot was art. His movement poetic. His confidence unbreakable.
For an almost four month span the answer to the question "what does it take to be the best Counter-Strike player" was simply and solely "kennyS". Nobody else stood a chance. To this day, the echoes of this 19 year old sniping maestro's impact ripples through the passing years of history.

Muscle memory was with the old awp and then when they nerfed it, it is like you would compare using a sensitivity 2.0 and then drop the sensitivity down to 1.2. It would fuck you up at that level of play. If you can't realize the difference then you are just stupid and small-minded and I am done arguing with you.

kennyS/s1mple/NiKo/Zywoo are/were one man armies at their prime, single handedly capable of winning a game against some of the greatest teams

Actually dexerto also has videos about csgo with a lot of inconsistencies on their info. Forgot which video where i stopped watching even though the topic was interrsting. Only reason why this video is so good is because thorin was the one who wrote and narrated it. Thescore was good at first but i have to agree with you that they're meh now.
Yeah I think it's unfortunate that they decided to do Kenny's story when their production behind their "The Story Of.." series was shit.

Grateful that I saw Kennys when he was at his peak. One of the best players I have ever seen.
I don't think most people realize how difficult it is to keep being ambitious, always striving for greater heights, when you gain nothing tangible in return. Kenny's mental toughness and ceaseless pursuit to be the best is perhaps the most legendary thing about him. I also believe that's why he dropped off so fast. Not because of the mechanical changes, even though they played a factor. It's impossibly hard to stay motivated when you're already at the peak of performance globally, and you have nothing to show for it. In the case of Kenny, even being nerfed because you were too good.
Yea it really can take a toll on your mind, you know you're by far the best player in the world, defying the game's laws and making unforgettable highlights but still losing
Titan only managed to win 1 trophy during the 4 months kennyS turned on his godmode, so yea he might have mentally broken down and thus his performance was never the same after awp nerf

I'm 21 .. but to be honest I know the name "KENNYS" from my 17's and 18's as I used to play "contract wars" (if u have played u know it was on miniclip and kongregate)..

new csgo fans 2017 and forward i think would never understand how much of a bug kennys was back in the days. but sadly he is french where a lot of teams dont last as much and always has personalities conflicts within them.
I knew kennyS before I even started playing CS:GO. He will always be the best awper CS:GO has ever seen.
And then S1mple did this level gameplay for a whole year it’s unbelievable

DUNEMEISTER kennyS peak was way more dominant than s1mple’s one. But s1mple’s one was more longer (he didn’t get nerfed like Kenny tho)
You have to remember S1mple is doing this in a much more competitive era, at the time the scene wasn’t nearly as competitive, even if Kenny had better stats

The reason I played this game.
It was coz the awp changes. Just like Scream, after the AK changes, he could no longer 1 tap and dropped off big time. Also I wonder how many ppl here remember the truly god tier noscope plays from 1.3 and 1.5 times when you could noscope across the map lol. those were way more insane than todays awp plays due to the mechanic.
What AK change? Can u explain?
