I own an e46 so im constantly watching your old video, now that im watching your new videos it seems like im watching a different person. We all thank you for making our bmw lives easier
Oh my. I'm so glad I bought MHD. So many more options plus Anti lag and custom tune flashing ability no need for back end flashing etc. Everything JB4 does plus and simple too. IMHO.
I have jb4 and mhd both on 2 different 2010 535xi. Same cars 5k miles difference and I like the mhd for ease of use but the jb4 seems to make more power, but has less drive ability. Only difference is one car has full intake charge pipes and intercooler
Just a couple of remarks from an electrical engineers' point of view: I wouldn't let the Y-harness dangle around in the wiring compartment without some sort of mechanical protection. I'd probably use a couple of zip ties and feed them in between the wires on both ends of the connectors. That way you can gently pull them tight and fix the two connectors to each other. Kinda hard to describe, but the goal is to keep them from seperating due to vibration in the engine bay. Second remark is concerning tapping the power line in the first part of the installation. Again, I'd try to mechanically secure it somehow and most of all, the connector style used leaves an uninsulated part of the connector openly in the box. That surely is a no-go... You could solve both of these issues with a piece of shrink tube, at best with the type that has a liner of adhesive on the inside and seals itself, when heated.
Hey 50s Kid thanks for the great video. I've been wanting to try the JB4 but didn't really know how. Also picked up a Tunai Firefly LDAC! Been looking for something like that for a while! Working wonderfully! Looking forward to the speaker install video.
Great vid, i have 2 2010 535xi's and have mhd on one and jb4 on the other, the jb4 seems to be the faster car but loses some drive ability, mhd smoother both compared as close as i can. Boost was with in 2 lbs of each other's
@50skid Long shot here, but do you know of a good place to purchase an M54 to drop into our e46? You’re obviously knowledgeable, figured you’d have dealt with a reputable company in the past
Are the The metal clips on the injectors a possible problem if any are missing or loose? I have injectors # 4,6,5 misfire after replacing ccv/pcv and removing & cleaning intake... i still have dreadful idle no acceleration reduced power limp operation ...similar to mAS symptoms/ bad intake boot problems which I just replaced the on with multiple damaged spots. I want to think vacuum leak or lines ae not in correct place? I still hear a leak but can't pin point it..I m feeling defeated after all the work and time I have spent on this project. 06 bmw x3 e83 3.0i I also have 07 x3 3.0si its totally different with the 2 disa 's much easier to navigate and work with than the 06 x3...codes are not consistent and I did clear fault memory in all systems as well as transport data and reset adoptions?????????? Ughhhh please help bimmergal needs advise....
Installing this was SLOWER than stock on 335iS and left me stranded outside Flagstaff back in the day. Came home, uninstalled it and threw it in the trash.
Hi, I have 2008 e60 535i with the jb4. Do you know if it causes no communication issues with the dme? When bmw dealership tried to connect their scanner they said they can not communicate with any modules. I even brought it to a local garage which they showed me that ista+ with Dan was not able to communicate with any as well. If the jb4 is interfering with the communication to the me how can new modules, battery or keys be programmed? Your assistant will be greatly appreciated.
I don't know where the jb4 is I didn't click on because I knew what it was I click on the see if what it is and what it's for I still drive my m54 04 XI 2004
My 2003 325xi wagon is dead stock, and will remain that way forever. I just drove it to S Florida from new york to escape the winter, and strictly to work, no beach for me lol
Did you notice that the program was grabbing data while you were trying to update the firmware. Random E85 amounts, ign avr....jb4 is the worst software imaginable. They need to get a hp tuners program, spend a year studying how tuning software should work, and rewrite there program so that half the PIDs aren't redundant in effect to the vehicles fuel management. People should worry that nobody stresses that the most important parameter to watch at all times is the afr.....😂
@@VaporEG Ah, yeah, totally agree. They need to just sell a box with bluetooth built in. They also need to get their act together regarding documentation. You basically have to dig through endless forum posts to figure everything out. They kind of remind me of me when it comes to documenting the software I write. We're always so focused on forging ahead and making new stuff that nobody ever takes the time to document things correctly. It's a bad habit.

Whenever I've read modules in my e60 I've had to set the jb4 to map 0 / off. Otherwise it causes a weird errors or no communication at all.
welcome back 50s kid. long time i didn't see a vid from you. What kind of tune and mod can i do to the X5 4.4 to get about 80 HP?
I don't think there is such a mod available for that engine
Is it worth it? I have found one for £50 on Facebook marketplace and I’m on the fence as to whether I should try it

@@StephenDanielAddeo That’s exactly the only mod on my e46 coupe too!
Hi, great video.
Could the JB4 works for the e39s???
Yeeee
good work but there I much more in there.
How the fuck you get it on the laptop?
Jb4 is obsolete and ancient tech we have had the ability to flash the ecu from your cell phone for a while now it’s safer and better for your engine.
