Replacing this and the steering gear, lines, etc. Great video.
Thank you!
Mine is a 79. I took it all apart for an engine rebuild and now have bad alignment. Thanks for the closeups so i can get it right
Great to hear that my video helped you.
I watched this four times.
I took images with my phone so I can reference them more easily tomorrow when I tear into my 74.
Thank you for your feedback, hope it helps 🙏
The R&R went great. Your video really helped when the mounting brackets and shims were all stacked up on the alternator bracket. Thanks 😊.
That old saying is true.
One picture is worth a thousand words.
This helped ALOT!
Thank you for making the video I will be coming back alot for reference
Youre very welcome 🙏 glad I could help someone.
Great explanation. Thank you!

Fantastic Video
Thank you very much!
Great video...thanks for posting.
Great video, although im just trying to loosen the pump on my 68 firebird for belt removal you showed the 3 bolts that need to be loosened.
I was hoping this video would be useful in some way. Glad it helped you out.
@@EddiesCustomsandRestorations it sure did, setup is a little different on 1st gen firebird on the rear adjuster bolt but it had me stumped as to why it wasnt moving.. theres a 3rd bolt..
@@anthonysantiago1999 well I sure am glad the video helped you. Thank you for your feedback! Greatly appreciated 🙏
Question, The part number for the radiator hose and where did you purchase it at
I'm changing it on my 1986 5.0 Firebird. Alternator is on the right side and AC is on the left.
Same, or does the ac have to come out?
Thanks
I have a 79 monte carlo, would your transaction be similar to my engine bay to work on?
It will be similar but not exactly the same being that the monte will have a small block chevy and not a pontiac motor
Very helpful 👌
Is the pulley supposed to be pressed on all the way?
No, you have to do yout best to line it up perfectly with the other pulley that UT connects to.
No, you just need to line it up to the pulley that it connects to and make sure the belt is traveling straight and not crooked
Ok thanks for the help
Line or flare wrenches are your knuckles friends!!
Thats for sure!
43 yr old pressure line on my 79 so a vice grip did the trick. Gotta replace the line anyways. Sure was on super tight Flare wrench was a No Go
So how would I simply loosen the power steering belt tension just to change the belt only ??
By loosening the pump and letting it swing down so you can remove the belt.
@@EddiesCustomsandRestorations appreciate you. Got me thru !
@@spades262 that's great to hear! Enjoy your ride brother!
