What's quite amazing is that even Volvo models that are over a decade old have adaptive cruise control. I can drive the '09 S80 and feel like I'm in a "half Tesla!"
The Pilot Assist is my absolute favorite option, works superb in traffic! :)

I've had the s90 R-Design for about 2 months now. I travel up and down the m6 every week and can honestly say the Pilot assist and Adaptive Cruise Control are a god send. I use it every time without a problem. I've never once felt it was trying to kill me and I've tested its capabilities, a lot. I would say the only issues I find is it will not slow down to take a steep bend automatically unless there's a car in front of you that slows down. On typical motorways though, I drove 60 miles without any input into the car on the m6.
It just happens to be a massive bonus that its the comfiest drive I've had. The fuel savings are awesome too
I have 2016 XC60 inscription. Definitely I'm enjoying Adaptive Cruise Control.

the best description BY FAR of these systems. One question is this the Pilot assist 1 or Pilot assist 2? I think this is Pilot assist 1
The box behind the mirror does NOT have the radar for the cruise control. What it does have is a MobilEye iQ3 processor and camera for Pilot Assist and lane departure warning system. CitySafety uses a combination of the radar and the camera system to detect obstacles and apply the brakes.

Pilot assist works up to 130 km/h in the new volvo s/v90! (if im not wrong).

139 km/h actually, only way I noticed was whilst driving on the Autobahn in Germany where the pilot assist got disconnected when driving over 140 K

Now my question: in your video I see at 2:56 that there are 3 cars showing in the symbol of the pilot assisted cruise control, whereas in the beginning of the video the symbol shows just 1 car. What is the difference here?

Is there any reason that you know of why the distance part suddenly stops being available?, really appreciate any advise on this point

the pilot assist function, is that also included in the adaptive cruise control package wich is standard on the inscription trim ?
+frederik meire I think the adaptive cruise and pilot assist is in the same package, meaning if your cars has adaptive cruise it also has pilot assist :)

Hi, great videos on your xc90! How have you found the crash detection autobraking? I've heard other users complaining that its too sensitive and auto brakes when driving past parked cars. Not good when you risk car behind driving into you. Thanks

hi mate, question is, will the car actually follow the speed limit of the street? Saw that is a speed limit as 90 km/hour when you send the cruise control to max speed 100KM/ hour?

Do you hear anything about PA2 for the 2017 model? It can be activated up to 80 miles instead of 35 miles. Will it be available for upgrading on 2016 model? I kind of like it but don't really know whether it will be upgradable or not.

Curious if you were able to upgrade to Pilot Assist 2. My dealer said 2016 models could get Pilot Assist 2.
Yes, I've heard this before. That you can upgrade for a fixed cost. Will ask my dealer in the future.
Why don’t u hire a taxi for ten years if u want someone else to drive probably cheaper ? When it go’s wrong which it will it will throw you off the road or into something plus you’re going to get a lot of idiots thinking that they don’t have to do anything for the hole journey

Never trust the car however confident you feel you are legally obliged to be in control of a motor vehicle at all times, driving with your feet miles away from the brake pedal is foolish. Yes you have city safety but relying on it again is foolish,it just increases the chance of killing someone greatly. Remember the srs stores all the data on how you have been driving before the crash and you will be liable for whatever goes wrong...
