You can never understand how important is Pilot Assist to ppl who has panic attack driving on highway. It has been numerous time i had to stop at shoulder or emergency when it struck. And often was driving at 60km/h on highway and worst when thosr buses or lorries tailgating and keep horning, already driving on left lane and dont understand why they dont jist overtake but must bully.
And one day i read on L2 Autonomous technology and i got myself a recon W205 C200, 5yrs old Japan recon for rm170k for its 'Distronic Plus'. And after since, i had no more panic attack now i can drive averagely 120-130km/h compared to 60-80km/h previously. You will not believe if i told u it took me 5hrs to drive from Melaka to KL before. Thanks L2 Autonomous. I am not sure if anyone else has this same problem.
I love the Volvo Pilot assist.
Bobby, have you noticed that if you are in a lane and slowed because of a car in front of you. When you turn on the right indicator, it detects that you want to change the lane, it speed up automatically. Its amazing
Yes thats amazing.
Great explanation of the simplicity using the pilot assist function Bobby 👌
I'm getting a fully loaded 2021 XC60 Insciption Pro this weekend, if the test drive goes well. Thanks for all your reviews!
Hi Bobby, what is ur comment on the recharge version? Would u recommend?
Hi Bobby does the advance ADAS system with ACC nowaday have some safty feature that would deactivate the throttle just in case someone in a ADAS mode & takes the foot off from brake & accelarator pedal and another car just suddenly cut in & the driver in ADAS mode react wrongly due to panic by pressing the accelarator pedal hard instead of the break pedal?
Hi Bobby, which Volve Pre-Own dealers would you recommend in KL for XC90 T8?
Hey Bobby, is it normal for the S60 pilot assist to steer/stay very close to the left line instead of completely center in between of two lines?
Hi Bobby, Could you please advise on whether the second hand Xc90 T8 2016 is good to buy or not?
How about in construction marking lane mess on the road? Can it read it
I just went from Mercedes c350e to a Volvo v60 t6… but to be honest in my first 500km I refer the merc. It detects leftlane cars so you won’t overtake on the right and it works more consistent. Maybe I’ll change my opinion after the first 500km.
Sir this system does xc90 2017..2018 model have ? I am planning to buy 2017or 2018 t8 model please advise
Bobby yours is not Inscription Plus ya.
Izzit everything ok with non PLUS?
I found Haval to be a great level 2 autonomous system.
I wonder how does it adapt to section of road that have no marking? Or in case there's multiple confusing marking? Asking based on experience on Johor's road. Also, how about speed bump?
No marking it will tell you to hold the steering wheel and if the road markings aren't clear the green logo will go off.
Some roads in Malaysia has yellow lines at construction area. Does it still works when there is sudden change of white line to yellow lines?
Yes it does. In my video there are multiple times I crossed into yellow lines of you notice
Bobby, is the accuracy remains during heavy pour rain or cruising in and out of a tunnel?
Of course if it is unable to read the road markings then it will tell you to hold the steering wheel and its green steering logo will be off indicating you to take over
Hi. Why you no need to hold the steering to use the pilot assist?
If it's below 30kmh you don't need to
One thing to mention is that "Pilot Assist" only has 40% of the braking authority. So in case of an emergency braking it will only apply 40% of the braking power - the driver will need to apply full braking power when needed. I also read this online and I believe it's important for people to know the limitations of the system
What year is your Volvo?
Hi Bobby, is that X50 smilar with Volvo's one?
I also wish to know the different between every cars L2 Autonomous. X50, Honda Sensing, etc cos i am.looking for one
How about Tesla FSD??
Bobby. Are you dropping a new Volvo car review soon? It doesn’t seem like the unit is your pearl white xc90! Can’t wait.
Iinm, Bobby already sold his XC90 earlier this year
I’m eagerly excited as you if there is goin to be a Volvo review coming up next
@@helloguysssss thanks for the info. Yea from the side mirror the Volvo driven by Bobby seems like a red car. I wonder if it’s going to be the XC60 or perhaps XC40 recharge (don’t think Malaysia is getting it but one can always dream and hope)
@@hanfungc9337 s60 recharge (Replace T8 badging for MY2021)
@@hanfungc9337 This is the S60 (you see the R-Design steering), the XC60 does not come with R-Design here.
While the XC40 has a different interior
Bobby did a review on s60 already, the Genting run-in
I’m about to sell my XC90 T8 and I’m going full electric but I’m concerned how much I’m going to miss Volvo pilot mode. Motorway driving and worst of all motorist traffic it’s a godsend. Wondering which of bmw or Merc has the best equivalent.
Pilot assist is great. I have a XC90 and a Tesla. The pilot assist beat autopilot.
Hi Bobby can you help.me think of a car i am looking for one: 1)must have L2 Autnomous 2)have sunroof/panoramic 3)compact SUV 4)preferably below 250k car.
XC40 is good choice but no sunroof(oversea spec has it). The other only matching car i can find is Proton X50!
Here you go! www.mudah.my/view?ad_id=89400324&share_from=android&share_to=other
@@BobbyAngmalaysia Bobby got 1 size smaller than CX60 SUV?
What if a car or motocycle cuts infront suddenly? Will the car break automatically in time?
This actually happened halfway in the video you can see how the car reacted
Hope it brakes and not breaks.
Will it avoid potholes?
Of course not. That would cause danger to others
Hmm. Bobby, Xc40 or BMW 3 series? Hard to decide after watching this video.
you better check the new XC40's equipment and specifications with Volvo dealers before making your choice because they always update their equipment levels sometimes some items might be dropped off
Problem with this is malaysia driver that like to cut in lane during jam or cutting in close to your car, then u get a hard breaking from the car, also feel when it accelerate after stop is not so smooth
Impressive! But Volvo so expensive huhu
I will wait for the S90 to get sunroof
Is it on par with Honda Sensing?
Honda Sensing is quite good but it can't even match the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) as Honda only uses camera based system compared to radar system on TSS and Pilot Assist, so Volvo Pilot Assist for sure is better without a single doubt
Yes, Volvo's system is superior to both of Honda and Toyota's.
Volvo Pilot Assist on its own is better than Honda Sensing (HS) and Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 (TSS2) STOCK. BUT, if you pair the HS OR TSS2 with OpenPilot, YES, the duo is far more superior than Volvo Pilot Assist. Currently, the rival for OpenPilot is Tesla.
@@Yddp3307 Honda uses radar too!
If Im not mistaken X50 has such feature, how is it compared to this Volvo one? Will it be as good? Can anyone commend?
It's pretty near but not as good as volvo, volvo is better. But both x50 system & toyota TSS are better then honda sensing.
@@nashrulaqil4365 i own a toyota with TSS 2.0 and I've read Honda has better LKAS than Toyota's Lane Centering. Look around the RUclips videos and you will notice it too. But, TSS with OpenPilot is better than Honda Sensing with OpenPilot. Homda has crappy steering wheel torque that needs to be modded.
My father new volvo s60 T8 also can autodrive and my daddy got show me
Is it good at detecting motorbikes and cyclists?
Is it comparable to Tesla?
nope. Tesla is fully autonomous. You can just set in the console / gps for your destination and the car will drive itself. in volvo, the car will just drive along the road and you still need to manually turn the steering into junction etc.
My opinion, is that Tesla is using their customers as guinea pigs, there are too many roads that are poorly marked around the world. But being a company that pushes tech to progress, their contributions is immense too.
Pretty sure Bobby missed his Volvo haha
Why did he sell it tho?
To fund his sports cars =)
First view
They should make it fully autonomous driving when traffic is crawling from complete halt to below 15km/h.
It is. From 0-15kmh I don't need to hold the steering. I once experienced 8 hour jam in my Volvo to Singapore and it just does its thing all the way
Your intro video is too long.
Agreed.
Actually its exactly same as the toyota drcc...toyota will follow the car infront if there's no lane marking 😱😱...and even Toyota just need one press for pilot assist
Yeap toyota safety sense is actually the best for the respective segments, it's the best out of Japan, works maybe as well as the pilot assist. Competitors like Honda only use camera based systems which is quite inaccurate i would say
But sadly UMW sucks at marketing, they have one of the best systems yet not many people know about it, that's failure of marketing by UMW
So is the one in x50 😂
@@corneliustoh8966 idk about that...cuz i have the rav4 so i know
@@jaya6204 now you know :)
It sucks, it keeps wanting to take offramps
That didn’t seem like a tight turn we’re the Volvo didn’t make it 🤭
Volvo doesnt want to allow the system to turn tight turns for humans to not allow it to be misused
I believe I did pissed off a Volvo SUV in Old Klang Road yesterday, this driver don't understand the meaning of lane merging. Slow moving traffic, putting on my indicator more than enough time to show my initiative to merge in front of him, despite having plenty of safe distance between him and the vehicle ahead of him, when I merged into his lane he is completely unhappy, tried to act cocky and attempted to squeeze me out. Later that he then honked and high beamed me.
I love Volvo cars, but their drivers just....
especially XC60 owners lol
Tesla is the best.
Nope, OpenPilot is better. I have it. Recently drive my Corolla with OpenPilot, almost 90% of the driving duration from Jawi, Penang to Ayer Keroh, Melaka (PLUS highway) was done by pushing buttons on the steering wheel (increase/decrease speed), signal stalk and steering wheel nudge (for overtaking). OpenPilot has driver monitoring too to make sure the driver is paying attention to the road. OpenPilot is compared with Tesla, but not once it is compared with Volvo Pilot Assist.
Wow.. you're judging by simple one compared with Tesla autopilot but not compare OpenPilot to Volvo to make the judgement? Logical disaster
