Thank you so much! I didn't get much searching the manual and my dealer seems less than interested in making sure I understand the systems in my new XC60.
I had my windscreen changed, they put a 3rd party windscreen in. It screwed up the pilot assist, was very right biased and was very vague, I couldn’t trust it. They calibrated the camera twice. They said some windscreens can distort what the camera see’s. Next week they’re changing the screen for a OEM version so hopefully will be ok again. BTW I have the stop/start turned on with auto brake, to resume the adaptive cruise you can just hit the accelerator. Great vid.
Thanks for this video! I have a question, is there a way to increase/decrease the speed by 1 mph at a time? My car seems to jump by the 5's when I hit the + or -
Probably not. If you're really paying attention and trying to maximize fuel economy, you can do better than the Adaptive Cruise because you can better deal with traffic conditions and anticipate what will happen.
If your buttons are exactly the same including the distance buttons you should have adaptive cruise. Hitting the right arrow will give you the options if you do.
Thank you, just got my new S60 and was kind of afraid to use any of those functions as I like to remain in total control. I will try that today after watching your video.
Just open in the options bro, and press that cruise control icon, it must be Green that will automatically disable autopilot and adaptive cruise control..
Is it possible to cancel pilot aasist, and maintain adaptive cruise control without turning off the system entirely, and resetting in ACC mode? Seems like i go into pilot assist and using the left arrow does not cancel it.
Hi. Thank you for the excellent videos. Very informative to say the least. I also live in Southern California and therefore cursed with daily traffic. I’m looking to buy a new car with new adaptive cruise control tech my questions specifically pertains to stop and go traffic (under 20 miles an hour) on the 405 freeway during my daily commute. I know the spacing between cars is an issue and then also the lag on speeding up with most brands. I am also concerned about pissing the people off behind me when using adaptive cruise control. The question is… Are there any standout software as far as adaptive cruise control in a very slow stop and go traffic?
Any of the cars I've done "how to" videos on adaptive cruise control on will greatly reduce fatigue when driving on the freeway in traffic. As far as the best systems, I liked Nissan's Pro Pilot assist a lot, and any Hyundai/Kia product with the Highway Driving Assist will start the car moving on its own after being stopped for up to 30 seconds, and I believe the newer Toyota's with safety sense 3.0 and Traffic Jam Assist do the same thing. That's helpful in very heavy traffic

Yeah you gotta watch it with those windshield replacements. Thank you for watching!
Where’d you go to get your windshield replaced? I always thought Safelite was a safe bet.
Well explained! I was wondering how come my pilot assist was approaching stopped traffic at full speed the other day. Pretty scary.
Fantastic explanation, one of the best on RUclips
Thank you very much Dave!
Thanks, much appreciated.
This is Fantastic. I just bought Volvo XC90 yesterday and this was very helpful
Glad it helped!
Great video, thanks for sharing. Does Adaptive Cruise Control also work in “B” mode on the XC 90?
It should, there is nothing in the owners manual that says it won't
@@CarDietrich Thanks.
congratulations you pronounced Porsche correct! :-) most english speakers get it wrong. They leave out the "e" in the end
2024 XC90 and fully loaded and "NO PILOT PARKING ASSIST" feature available? Perhaps hidden somewhere?
I'm not sure, I didn't use any parking assist on this car

Push = 5s. Push and hold = 1s
@@barneypoochThank you!! I am going to try that next time
Is adaptive cruise more efficient in pure mode than our foot?
Probably not. If you're really paying attention and trying to maximize fuel economy, you can do better than the Adaptive Cruise because you can better deal with traffic conditions and anticipate what will happen.
Does it work at night as well
No, it is only for day light.
You need to turn the system off at latest 16:00 😅😅
@tr9036 what do you mean no? On m, s60 works perfectly at night
Man, this is a joke.
There's nothing to do with the day or night.
You can use it whenever you want!
Mine hase all those buttons for cruise control but only normal cruise works
If your buttons are exactly the same including the distance buttons you should have adaptive cruise. Hitting the right arrow will give you the options if you do.
You have almost half a fuel tank and already Message "low fuel level"?
No I have not had that happen in a Volvo

Glad I could help!
@@CarDietrich It was slightly different on my 2024 S60, but worked great.
Works flawlessly in my s60 ❤
How do you turn off adaptive cruise control and use the cruise control in the “classic” mode?
Unfortunately I can't figure out how to do that in Volvo's owner's manual, so it may not be possible
Just open in the options bro, and press that cruise control icon, it must be Green that will automatically disable autopilot and adaptive cruise control..

I think you have to cancel the Adaptive Cruise to turn off pilot assist, and then set the ACC again
