Fr. Mike, I thank God for the absolutely beautiful and sensitive way in which you handled a topic that can be so difficult for some. My heart was singing with joy as I listened. I personally am completely at peace with accepting the Lord's plan for the ordination of men but not women. His ways are infinitely greater than mine and I trust in His plan for His Church, but I hope and pray that your thoughtfully chosen words will help to bring others towards a greater understanding and peace with this as well. Praying for you and for all of the community listening here. May God bless you all.
Father Mike, I am a cradle Catholic, and I have no problem, none, with women not being able to receive Holy Orders/become priests. Jesus Christ chose this, our Catholic Church follows the deposit of Faith received by Jesus and the Apostles. I accept and love the Church's teachings, and I am not embarassed about it/them. We so appreciate that you felt the calling, Father Mike, God bless you and everyone here!
Father Mike, please do not ever apologize for the gift Jesus gave us! 💜 We need to pray for humility and a love for service, so we can get rid of the pride that makes us obsess over power, comparisons, and competition.🙏🙏🙏

Hey! This is how Heaven reaches down & Touches us! I just read that Todays St. John Vianney's feast day, who is the patron saint of All Priests! Wow! I read St. John Vianney said, "THE PRIEST IS NOT A PRIEST FOR HIMSELF; he does not give himself absolution; he does not administer the Sacraments to himself. He is not for himself. HE IS FOR YOU." St. John Vianney Pray for Us! Amen! God Bless You Fr. Mike for being such Holy Priest for us All!! 🙏✝️🕊️💙 St. John Vianney Patron Saint of Priests
Father Mike… this is a really controversial. I may have to Listen to this a thousand times more times. Wish I could come to you and talk. I pray for Jesus to open my mind and teach me
That's a good analogy re mothers and fathers in a family- who has more 'power' isn't a question we can ask- both have a vital role, and different roles, in unison.
I’m sorry I’m catching up, Father Mike! We had some life challenges that set us a wee bit behind. I have had this conversation about why women cannot become priests so many times throughout my life….So much misunderstanding and a general lack of regard towards women. As women, we are given gifts that are exclusive TO women. Just as there are gifts exclusive TO men. Loved the section about spiritual motherhood…our dear religious Sisters! I also understand you when you shared how you felt apologetic for your calling ….in my youth and when I moved to the Deep South I sometimes felt this way. This was an amazing talk. I am praying for all of us to stay 100% faithful to our faith, established by Jesus Christ Himself. God bless you, Father Mike!
Wow. This might be the best day yet for helping me understand the whole Mary thing! As a woman, my deepest longing is to be cherished. I see that is what Mary represents. God cherishes women. He creates a special place for us where we can actually experience being cherished.
Father Mike this is so beautiful you or all priests should not be embarrassed what you said is so clear but i know a Catholic married priest here in England he was from the church of England he is so holy loves the cationic faith it really shows thank you 🙏
It is wonderful that you are so sensitive to the feelings of others, Father, but living with our limitations is part of the spiritual journey. No apologies are warranted. I hope you can let go of any vir feelings of guilt!
Beautiful teaching. I love my faith and accept everything about it. I never question why i cannot be a Priest and in fact have a very active role in my church teaching the faith to our little children who may one day be Priests or Religious Sisters...what can be better than that. God is great 🙏
Father Mike, you provided a wonderful explanation! I am glad you have stopped worrying about this explanation. It is clear and full of enlightenment. Thank you.
For the sake of His sorrowful Passion have mercy on us and on the whole world. Immaculate heart of Mary pray for us ✝️🙏 Saint John Vianney pray for us.
Mother Theresa, Mother Angelica, Saint Theresa and so on ..women served the Lord and his Church. We women adore that and the priesthood is only for Men.
Thank you Fr Mike Personally I don't get hang up on the women not being ordained priests in my faith. The same way it doesn't bother me that I was born a girl and have three brothers. It doesn't bother me that I got to carry our five children in my womb and my husband didn't. I take all these with immense gratitude trusting that God knows and gives best and I have the privilege of just receiving the gifts with gratitude. I'm praying for you all.
An attitude of gratitude, that’s what we are all supposed to have. God has placed in the time & place He wants us & we all have a mission to fulfill. Now at 66 & a relatively new Catholic, if I only knew what mine is…maybe becoming Catholic was it? And living that life faithfully?🙏❤️
Yes thank you Father Mike it did make sense tonight and it does explain a lot of things and that's give you food for thought and also I want to say goodnight to everyone and God bless sleep well and I'm praying please pray for me amen
I’ve never been uncomfortable, apologetic or offended about women not being ordained! I converted from the Lutheran Church and I appreciate that the Catholic Church has remained faithful to the teaching of Christ! When I hear Fr James Martin and religious sisters advocating for the ordination of women, I get so aggravated!
This topic is a big one, thank you for explaining and making it easier for me to talk about. I’m praying for you and thank you for the Catechism in a Year, love it!
Father, may everything that I do this day, whether it be full of joy or pain, whether it be full of love or of grief, I ask that everything I go through today be offered to you just like Jesus offered everything to you. It is in his name we pray. Amen. 8/4/2023.
Fr. Mike, I am glad Jesus set priest hood the way his Father wanted! After all He is God and Omniscient. I am not either of it! All praise and Glory to Almighty!
Thank you for addressing this so clearly Fr. Mike. So often people within the Church and outside of it 'brand' it as disparaging women (as if women could be loved less). Yet in our 2000 year history, it is the women religious who pioneered and built hospitals, medical clinics, orphanages, shelters, and schools. Women are typically at the top levels of management in Catholic organizations, represent the majority of its employees, and run our parishes. The ONLY job they cannot hold (because Jesus did not establish it as such) is the priesthood. They can (and in the American church do) participate in every other type of role or service in the church, both employee and volunteer. The problem is that we look at what we don't have instead of that which we have been given.
This was an awesome day to hear the truth about women in church and men in church. It was so very enlightening. Thank you, father Mike. I enjoy each day. And each day I learn and become a better Catholic.
Women who struggle with the Church not ordaining women tend to misunderstand what “power” is. A mature understanding of service being the “power” in Christ’s economy helps us appreciate the different gifts men and women can bring through their service to God and others.
Agreed..! I would not want that ‘power’..! I so respect that these men live their lives IN SERVICE..!! Most of them are ‘angels’..! I have one who is like Jesus personified..! He is so happy most of the time.. You just WANT TO BE AROUND HIM..! His smile is infectious.. his hugs are ‘God driven’..! Yes, he has his ‘down’ moments, which makes him human and all the more loveable..! Please don’t misunderstand any of this … you KNOW you’re getting old when your parish priests are younger than your own kids..! It’s no more than ‘matriarchal love’..! I wish all Parishes has a clone of this priest. ❤️🙏🏻❤️
It's literally the males that are demanding power and authority 😂 If you have to demand it you likely don't deserve it 🤯 Think of the little boys that don't want to get molested by closeted homosexuals 🤡
Thank you Father Mike very helpful. A very dedicated priest teaching us to understand our catholic religion and learning so much. It’s a joy each day for me. Bless everyone who is joining us each day and my prayers are always with you all everyday.Amen❤

Good morning, Fr Mike! Had to share since we are in the in the Sacrament of Holy Orders. Prior to the pastoral executive council meeting with our pastor this week; I was privileged to share Liturgy of the Hours evening prayer with him. We typically meet at the rectory which has a beautiful chapel in which our Lord resides in the tabernacle. Upon reflection, I couldn't help but be overwhelmed to realize that a Common Kingdom Priest (me), a ministerial priest (Our Pastor) and the one True High Priest (Our LORD Jesus) were together for evening prayer!!!!!! Father Mike, Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. Remember that we women may have sons, brothers, husbands, and friends that, like Our Lady, we patiently support, love, and pray that they may imitate Our Lord in word and deed every day.
