I am Tristan, I am building a 400 SF cabin at the back of my house. I plan on doing it all by myself. I plan on sharing this journey here on RUclips where I will show you every step of the way, all the struggles I run into and everything I will learn from this experience. I will then rent the cabin as a short term rental in hope of covering most, if not, all my house mortgage (House Hacking). Follow me here as this will absolutely be one of a kind journey.

Hi Jordan! So the first person that had won the Bluetti never got to provide me their email even after following up with them several times. You’re the next random number that came up!
Can you confirm that you’re in the USA or Canada ?
Please answer this comment here and provide me with your email so that I may privately contact you. I’m not sure if RUclips will let you write a full email so you might have to right it down as follows : John Doe at gmail dot com.
Hopefully you see the comment fairly fast, I will give you one week before I have to select someone else, Bluetti has been asking me for the winner. Congrats and hoping to hear back from you soon !
@@TheDIYCabinGuy I've tried to comment multiple times, but my comment keeps getting deleted.
@@jordandanser7556 okay good to know, I can see your comment now, does it get automatically deleted when you write an email down? What if you spell it out the way I wrote you the example in my previous comment ?
@@TheDIYCabinGuy I had tried that. How about this: j-o-r-d-a-n-d-a-n-s-e-r-1, with no hyphens.

They make mixing valves with the crimp pex ends already installed so you dont have to add adaptors and worry about leaks. Keep up the good work 👍

Amazing cabin build, hoping to do the same sort of thing in 2024 with our first property!
I hope you get to! It’s been such a great project. In what country/state will you be building ?
Your number is #139, good luck
Thanks for number. It will be in British Columbia, Canada! Not quite sure where but hopefully coastal. Thanks for putting all of you successes and failures on videos too, it really shows how it actually is as opposed to just the *highlights*
@@warwicksanderson awesome! I have always wanted to visit BC, it seems like such a neat place.
Yes, I really wanted to reflect the realities of solo building especially with no real prior experience so that anyone interested in trying would know what they would be getting into!
What size cabin are you looking to build ? Will it be connected to water/elec or just be off grid ?

Have you ever try to use it with your miter saw?
You did good as always!
Good point! No I still haven’t tried it, the saw is pulling 1100 watt according to dewalt’s website so the bluetti should be able to handle it no problem!

Bluetti- do you have a link on where to purchase the HRV units? do they always need to be at the same height?
Your number is #100, good luck!
I don’t think they necessarily need to be at the same height, just far enough from corners and ceilings that they will be able to move air properly.

You might need a thicker wire for AC disconnect. AC might need more than 20amps which yellow is rated for. I am a DIYer and not an electrician. #Bluetti
Hey that’s a good point but I did select the unit beforehand for that very purpose. The unit I’ll unit only requires a 20 amp breaker so I’ll be good.

You may want to double check your electrical code. I don’t believe you can run low voltage and high voltage in the same gang box.
Very interesting ! I really just followed the manufacturers installation video where they did run the power do a 2 gang box where they placed a transformer as well as the control board for the two units.
Use a barrier to separate control wires from power wires inside the same box and route control wire through its own opening into box.
Search for “Low-Voltage PVC Electrical Box Divider Plate”
NEC (2017) code reads (check your local code requirements as these might be different)…
“725.136 Separation from Electric Light, Power, Class 1, Non- Power-Limited Fire Alarm Circuit Conductors, and Medium- Power Network-Powered Broadband Communications Cables.
(A) General. Cables and conductors of Class 2 and Class 3 circuits shall not be placed in any cable, cable tray, compart- ment, enclosure, manhole, outlet box, device box, raceway, or similar fitting with conductors of electric light, power, Class ,1 n o n - p o w e r - l i m i t e d fire a l a r m c i r c u i t s , a n d
network-powered broadband communications circuits unless permitted by 725.136(B) through (I).
(B) Separated by Barriers. Class 2 and Class 3 circuits shall eb permitted to be installed together with the conductors of elec- tric light, power, Class 1, non-power-limited fire alarm and medium power network-powered broadband communications circuits where they are separated by a barrier.”
