      @TheBassWizard I have a Schecter Silver Mountain C5, which is essentially this bass but a couple different features. What strings do you buy? I can't get anyone to give me a straight answer of what strings to buy, so I can actually string thru the body, versus the bridge. Thanks!

    02:37 The knobs have holes in them that you can feel with the fingers. I have another Schecter fiver model so I am accustomed to that type of knobs, I don't know if they are convenient for other people

    I'm interested in this bass because I love my hellraiser guitar, but hearing now how about the narrow spacing I'm even more interested. I typically play with a pick and it sounds like this bass is made largely with that style in mind, allowing for easier playing of octaves or power chords. Seems like it's built for fast runs too. Definitely my kind of bass. I'll have to try one out one day.

    Well damn. Normally i have Schecter brand loyalty with my guitars. But when I got a bass, I got a Fender Active Jazz 5. Kinda wishing I saw this before I ordered the Jazz. This would have been perfect. Hopefully the Jazz bass can make me happy enough to not mind that it's not a Schecter.

    Watching other people play and talk about how they play has made me realize that I have a kind of unique playing stye. Most people slap closer to the neck, while I tend so be in between the pickups. I started on a precision bass, so it’s really odd to me to see someone playing closer to the bridge if they aren’t using a pick, which is where I play with a pick. I almost never play with just the bridge pickup, and when I do, it has to be a humbucker with a little bit of treble rolled off and bass turned up.
    For the geeks like myself, my currently most played bass is a cheap Spector that I put an EMG 35TW in the bridge position and a 34P4 in the neck, with a BTS System for EQ. For hardware I put a Hipshot Kickass bridge with stainless steel saddle inserts, Grover 144BC tuners, a 41mm Black TUSQ nut, and Dunlop Dual Design straplocks on it. It sounds absolutely amazing and it’s the punchiest bass I’ve ever laid my hands on.

    Came in for the review, stay for the performance. Man it's a treat to watching your videos!
    P.S. Buy the way, i think if you use 3 thin label,tape the 0 and 10 on the body, then use the last label tape it on the 0 of the knob, then it should help with the volume adjustment. Hope that can help you.

    Ah ha. You know I was wondering why despite getting super low action these were harder to pluck when doing slap stuff. That golden area where you pluck on a Jazz bass is being covered by an extra two inches of fretboard because there are 24 frets instead of 20.

    This is better than the Schecter Jazz 5 string you demo'd...better fuller tone especially with the coil tap which sounds better than the 5 string Schecter Jazz thing..neat binding, body colour/finish & inlays...having an EMG active eq & pickups should make it very versatile allowing you to use for most genres of music .....is the nut the same width as the other 5 string Schecter ? i would like another mm in between the strings at the nut personally, 4mm wider would be better for me but a very neat bass with great tones....

    • @robsantorobass
      @robsantorobass 2 года назад

      I think at that point it’s a matter of preference. The Stilettos, Hellraisers, Elites, etc are definitely more of Schecter’s higher end basses. Me personally I prefer the Stiletto Studio basses.

    Out of the box, are the frets and action and tuners of this bass good? In other words, is the quality control any good?

    • @drewg4323
      @drewg4323 4 года назад

      For me...not really. Mostly the action for B and E was basically 0 (G and D were perfect though), but since most music stores could care less about basses, I've never gotten a new bass online that I didn't have to do some sort of setup for. Fortunately it's usually just the action, which is pretty easy to correct.

    • @teresaravenshaw5477
      @teresaravenshaw5477 2 года назад +1

      It's 'couldn't care less', what you're saying is they do care at least a bit, which is clearly not your intention. Why so many Americans get that wrong is confusing.

    Not the best bass for slapping, I hear that about a lot of basses who is not jazz or a Stingray bass. Slapping is just experimental that's how Larry Graham came up with that technique by slapping on a bass not made for slapping most basses are made for fingerstyle.
