- "Can you build a B Box without a door?" was Melvin's first question to the ARV team as he and his wife Angie set out to build a custom vehicle for their travels. Today we show the result, the 144" wheelbase, All-Wheel Drive Mercedes B Box named Vihaan.

Perfect without the door, safer, more room. Don’t know why others put doors in the side or back, don’t need them. Best van I’ve seen yet and love the color!

. . . Nice ! I like the interior design and color. It is a bit like the regular 144" mercedes sprinter camper-van conversions, that you can buy right out the mercedes showroom in europe.
Being able to transport bicycles inside the van is becoming increasingly important for many people. Large bicycle garages are now standard in Class B-Plus or Class C RVs in Europe and are also increasingly being demanded by prospective motorhome buyers in the USA. The fit & finish on this custom made Advanced RV is certainly very good again. Greetings, Matt, Frankfurt, Germany.
Very nice engineering. I did relate to the owner's statement about downsizing his wants into needs. And his statement about perhaps not needing the technology after they retire....not so! I think they'll find that over time they won't need their Peplink, especially with wifi calling over Starlink. Starllink has been an incredible game changer for us.
Starlink has been great for us too, but not really functional in a city or with a tree canopy. Having the Peplink will useful in those situations.
And this is quality, and yes, it is expensive, but so is the Rolls-Royce. You get what you pay for. Good job Advanced RV.

Love it. Gonna order one just like it as soon as I hit some lotto $. Only thing I would change is the large AC sticking up high on the roof.
Stunning large interior box in a short, stealth, agile design that can go anywhere!
🤔 but you could still have the side door if you wanted that space for a table... the folding table can be attached to the door, just making sure it's well fitted so the door can slide open when the table is down and locked.
Another thing I don't like is when the sink is right by the bed, without any partition in between: I don't want dirty greasy water and food particles splashing on my linens, personally. But washing machine? Yasss! 👌🏼👌🏼

why wasn't more shown how to access the van without the main door?
Because they don't want you to see how awkward, uncomfortable, ridiculous it is to always enter/exit through the cab doors.

Funny, they took 3 years to get exactly what they wanted! Not for you, for them! Maybe when you can afford one, then you can build one just how you like!😂
@@Steve-yo4ld I already own a campervan, that's how I know not having a door for the coach is dumb. I'm sure you don't own an RV.

@@Steve-yo4ld It has Everything to do with it. It's called an educated opinion. You've never lived in an RV. Looks like you're the one who needs to stay in your lane. The "I've only ever owned a car" lane. Stick to the funny cat videos and let the adults discuss the important issues.

Any solar?
No solar on Vihaan. Most of our clients forego solar in favor of extra battery capacity, charged by an auxiliary high-output alternator.
About 6mpg?
With the bi-turbo 4 cylinder high performance engine and 9 speed transmission and our experience with other, heavier, less efficient B Boxes, we expect at least 17 mpg and wouldn’t be surprised with 18-19 mpg. We look forward to this client's feedback on their actual mileage.
@@AdvancedRV tiny high revving motors pulling heavy loads might get better mpg but longevity will be greatly compromised!.better sell it before 70k miles.
It’s clever with everything you’d ever need, but 3 years?
This particular client was willing to wait extra time for Mercedes to release the All-Wheel Chassis at the beginning of this year.

good luck trying to resale a camper with no entrance door lol and sooner or later you'll want to pay another huge amount of money for a new one lol
No side door is one of the dumbest ideas I have seen on a custom build. Isn't it against fire code? The engine catches on fire while you're in the coach, how do you escape?
That big freaking window above the table!!!!
The client wanted it that way. You obviously do not. We all have different ideas about what works for ourselves.
@@rd4660 climbing out a window 6ft off the ground to escape a fire is not as easy as you might think

From the outside it’s an uninspiring big grey box, lacking in style or interesting features. More effort could of been put in to design.

This client and many others aren’t interested in stylized trim. When that is an objective, our design team has fun designing and executing these features.

Not a fan (at all) of the design!
I self-built a Transit (mid length) 7 years ago (slept in it for a total of 25 months over 75k miles - so I know a thing or two about van travel).
I have a plethora of dislikes.
But a glaring one is that I like cooking outside when weather permits and to have too go from the middle of the inside of the rig to prep stuff and to go to the front contort yourself around the passenger seat - walk to the back a sh*t ton of times is very very sh*tty work flow!!
NTY - such poor workflow gets OLD awful quick. (& then you forget the salt - then you want another cold beer etc etc etc)
But Hey Your Dime - so knock yourself out - you will obviously have to put up, shut up and make due.
All based on personal choices. Obviously, they put 3 years of planning into the build! Your experience isn't theirs! Thanks for your input!😂
