what i loved is how they pulled off a party for a character who died (Wes) and it kinda felt like a farewell to Wes Craven they took their shots up and shouted "to Wes" in one scene. I think it was a brilliant way of honouring Wes Craven.
Matthew and Skeet were damn perfect in the first movie. Going from goofbal, or lovesick horny teenagers, to psychotic killers so effortlessly. I mean the scene with Stu, Billy, and Randy in the movie store. If you watch it from the viewpoint Billy is actually innocent or guilty how he talks to Randy works either way. I mean one of friends accusing you that you just tried to kill your girlfriend? That's got to hurt, and I would probably lash out accuse him back. Then Stu goes with being a good best friend or accomplice...
I have to disagree about the comedy. The original Scream, often called a “parody” in the years since, is actually played fairly straight. It does have laughs, for sure, but nothing to compromise the integrity of the horror elements. If anything, parts 3 and 4 leaned too heavily into self-parody for my taste. This new one struck a really nice balance.
agreed - 3 and 4 crossed into silly territory and i dont think it always worked - maybe looking back now it isnt as bad...but 3 is a circus and the tone of 4 is a bit messy (and i also cant get over how bad it looks - it looks so cheap and like a 2000s CW show)
@@alexanderm2888 3rd movie was crap, even though there are some few good thrilling sequences (I like the opening). Seems that screenplay was awful and Wes had to constantly change things while filming because they didn't have time to rewrite. Craven himself agreed that 3rd movie ended up not being as he expected and really felt that he let fans down and frustrated. The idea for the 4th movie was to compensate that mistake, and both Craven and Williamson kind of did it at the time pretty well. But as any single movie of the franchise, it aged badly. But I remember having a great time watching it for the 1st time and still one of my favorites when I ignore that fact.
@@alexanderm2888 They toned down the horror elements in 3 for a reason. The Columbine high school shooting that happened while that was filming. It was also completely rewritten because of that. 4 wasn't overly comedic at all.
These comments must be bots because this is quite possibly one of the worst movies created and that's not even an exaggeration, I can't fathom how people found this movie good it's actually hilarious, what's the world come to 😂
“Mellissa Borrera was phenomenal” ??? Did we watch the same movie? I felt like every single one of her lines was delivered so flat, and she didn’t really have any emotion besides the forced emotional points like her seeing her sister. Even then I didn’t feel much for her? Jenna Ortega did much better imo, I just felt everyone but Borrera was more interesting even with less character development only due to the way they acted. Could be just me though.
THANK YOU. I was about to comment the same thing. Easily the worst performance of the film, she really fell flat in every scene aside from maybe the ending with Richie. Really outshined by Jenna Ortega as you said
I’m actually an extra in the movie. I’m in the party scene near the third act, behind Jack Quaid’s character, and if you listen closely, you can hear me shout “Buzzkill!” It really was an absolute pleasure working on this movie, especially after how good it was!
Glad you liked it!! I totally get some of your issues and I even want to see it one more time before deciding if it’s my 2nd favorite or 3rd favorite in the franchise
Without spoiling anything, there's a conversation that happens right at the end of the movie that I felt was sorta directed towards the audience, mainly diehard Scream fans, which I really appreciated. I hope that conversation doesn't go over people's heads. Thought it really wrapped everything up nicely.
The final moments were ok but couldn’t redeem the rest of the movie. Didn’t like the new cast and there was nothing fun or funny about this one. Didn’t have that Scream flavour.
I finally saw this last night. Having seen all of the Scream movies, this is probably my third or fourth favorite. Still can't decide if it edges out Scream 4, which I quite liked. Everything you said about it pretty much rang true to me - an homage to Wes Craven, not quite as funny or tightly paced as his versions, but very good all the same. I wasn't that impressed with Melissa Barrera until the very end. Up until that point she was just kind of blank faced and almost distractingly beautiful. But man, she comes through in a pinch in that extremely violent scene near the end. Overall, thumbs up!
Its the 4th favorite for me. I think Scream 4 was better. So its 1,2,4,5,3 for me. There is some good stuff here. The cast is really good. The new actors are good. But the oldies are also used really well. They have a role but at the same time they do not overshadow the new cast members. Also the runtime is used well. The movie never quite stalls. Once the story begins it progresses at brisk pace and leads to a satisfying if not a memorable climax. There are a few issues with Scream. Its probably a little too self aware. You are constantly getting reminded about the Scream franchise, its old characters, and horror movie tropes. Any slasher movie should have 2 main themes or concept ? Who's next and who's the killer ? While you do wonder about who's the killer the important concept of who's next never gets a chance but of all the references. The references are fine but if they diminish the suspense, then you have not used them well. Also the motivation of the killers and all the reveals and the links at the end definitely feels contrived. Its a little too convenient. There should have been a stronger logic especially when the movie was making such a strong critique or commentary on Hollywood horror franchises. I liked Scream 5 but definitely not as much I had hoped. A good cast, especially the young and old leads, and a well paced narrative make it enjoyable. I give it a 6.5 and the strong links to the original have added to the ratings. As a standalone movie its probably an above average slasher. A better writing effort was required.
Speaking of horror comedies, I really hope that there is another film in the Happy Death Day series at some point because those films ended up being way more fun than I expected and even with only two films they managed to establish really impactful characters that I would love to see again
Hello Chris! I just want to say that you are such an inspiration. You have really inspired me as a inspiring Film maker! Thank you for being there for me and supporting me😇😇
No, please don't kill me Mr. Ghostface I want to be in the sequel. This is the type of one liners I want to hear in this movie. I'm glad is getting good reviews, since it is being released in January.
I loved the storyline and was never bored! I will say the one thing I have to nitpick on was the main actress, Melissa Barrera - not putting her down in ANY way, just thought she wasn’t the best actress for the role. Her emotion didn’t shine through enough and it felt like she was reading straight from script. Anyone else feel this way? GREAT review & love that the movie was all for Wes!
Yes I thought the same thing and I’m surprised more people aren’t talking about it. She seemed very flat even at the emotional heights in scenes with her sister.
I kinda felt the same. like she wasn't horrible but she wasn't consistent. The scene with her big reveal to Tara in the hospital really sticks out to me the most bc Jenna was just amazing in it and she just wasn't up to par.
Yeah I agree. Jenna Ortega (who plays Tara) definitely stood out more in my opinion, even though Sam was probably intended to be the ‘Sidney replacement’.
I am a big fan of the scream franchise, but I really regret going to see this one. It felt like there was no real understanding of what made the scream films as great as they are, which ultimately led to this remake bringing the original cast back for a cash grab.
This movie was bad. Sidney had what? 10 mins of screen time. The group of friends were insufferable, they were all acting so callous just casually talking about death meanwhile their close friend was just viciously attacked within an inch of her life, the stakes felt so low, like the characters werent behaving like normal people just script props. Lastly the killers identities were so dumb, there was no real twist as the characters were so irrelevant to the main plot. This overall didnt feel like a Scream movie. *edit* omg and the whole hallucination subplot was beyond the valley of the dolls stupid.
The group of friends acting callous and casually talking about death while all this is going on has literally been a staple since the first movie. It's classic Scream.
Wasn't really expecting the film to be that great but I was pleasantly surprised by how clever it was. I've always enjoyed the Scream films but I never really found them scary, but this one actually gave me a sense of dread for the characters. The only issue is I kinda figured out who one of the killers was a little too easily, mostly because of their filmography.
(Spoilers) I knew which one was the killer cause of another movie the killer played a similar role, and they even went out similarly like their previous character too
@@Maxx-ib6nr I guess that one person because of that role, I even guessed The killers about halfway through the movie when I told my friend, I still enjoyed it and I’m glad they actually did something with the movie instead of making it just for money like every reboot these days.
It's going to be a fun, satirical slasher like all the other Scream films; and that's all it needs to be. So I'm glad to hear it's getting praised for doing exactly what it's supposed to do.
Yeah it's a nice little formula. Not only is it fun how every sequel is a meta take on a different type of sequel, the whodunnit format keeps you guessing. If they'd make more I'd watch those too 🍻
Unfortunately… it wasn’t fun at all. So it failed for me big time and I actually felt like crying twice in the movie which is not what I signed up for.
By being narcing on people who weren’t fans of rian Johnson’s work? Are you serious? To call us murderers, essentially lmao! To indiscriminately kill every white person possible and allow all minority character to survive? Wow that definitely doesn’t scream racial discrimination. Oh yes what a great film that completely missies the mark of Wes cravens purpose of the films….they were meant to mock Hollywood, but this film is literally Hollywood mocking the people who made them rich to begin with! What a garbage film.
@@malbasedvalentine3210 discrimination? Really? I guess 90% of horror is racist for killing the black guy or girl and having the white person survive. Get over it, not everything has to be the same.
I've seen it twice. It's an enjoyable sequel. Even after all these years they're still turning out good films. It has its flaws, and I have issues with it, but overall, it's a fun ride.
@@leonzaduncan2438 No ever film is perfect, there will always be flaws, be it minor or major flaws. If Scream 1996 was perfect, it would have received 10/10 on IMDB and 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Fact that Iron Flamethrower Ghostface wasn't even real still bothers me a lot. They shouldn't have teased it like a it was a huge thing in the marketing
I was so giddy in that theater let me tell ya. Wow, still my favorite franchise. The characters discussing the new generation of horror films was awesome and stuck with the successful formula from the others and I was relieved they didn't choose this "requel" as the one where they decided the rules changed. Definitely excited to see more of these in the future. Excellent video man!
I enjoyed Scream 5, for the most part. I don't care that it's just called Scream, it's Scream 5. They bring a bunch of original people back, and acknowledge the franchise history. Dewey's death was sad, but I figured going in that one of the original 3 were going to die, and he was the most likely IMO. I liked Sidney and Gale taking on Amber in the kitchen at the end. And how that ended up. I did not like that that didn't kill Amber and what's her name did. Sam's sister. It felt like they threw it in there just for one last twist. And it honestly cheapened Gale's moment. I didn't like that Sam's sister survived the opening. Or that Sam's boyfriend was basically a Billy redo. I figured right away that he was one of the killers, even when they tried to make it look like he wasn't. It took me seeing it twice to learn the second killer's name. You know how Sidney looks really confused in Scream 3 when Roman's outed as the bad guy? Like she's thinking "Who the hell are you?" That was me with the Amber reveal. They really foreshadowed it with that scene with Randy's niece though. I caught that the second time I watched it. Randy's niece and nephew I didn't mind because it was revealed Randy had a sister in Scream 3, and Martha did have a scene in this, so it wasn't as out of nowhere as Billy's daughter. And how in the hell did Billy have a kid? As far as we know the only person he ever slept with was Sidney. Given that he was a serial killer, it wouldn't be a surprise if he cheated on Sidney too, but give us a little hint. Like have Sam mention her mom's name around Sidney and have Sidney comment that she went to school with her or something. Not just have Sidney blurt out that Sam is Billy's daughter 2 seconds after they meet. It felt like they were trying too hard to connect Sam to the original cast. I didn't really mind ghost Billy or whatever that was supposed to be either, but wouldn't him haunting Sidney make more sense? Especially if it happened in the Macher house, where Sidney killed Billy and she hasn't been back to since 1996?
what i found real stupid was that it was amber who overpowered a grown ass dewey and a jock with muscles and she was just as tall if not taller in those scenes where she killed them. no way a teenager can do that
@@drezc5444 amber weighs 116 while dewey only weights 161....it’s entirely possible, especially since he has nerve damage, is old, has a limp, is withered etc. Amber going after chad wasn’t exactly “overpowering” he tried running for the most part.
Exactly, that was a huge plot hole. In certain scenes where Amber is the ghostface, she towers over her victims (obviously it’s a stunt person and not really her). I guess it’s happened in other Screams too, but given how petite she is, it bothered me that the scenes where she was the killer had ghost face looking so big/tall. Definitely a plot hole
I disagree about the pacing. Even in the original Scream, there were slower parts, but they felt welcome. The pacing in Scream (2022) is extremely rushed the whole way through, including each kill.
It’s interesting to see how differently people felt about the pacing. At the beginning up until right around act 3, I thought the kills were too slow. I felt like they finally got the pacing right in the third act. I did feel like the reveal was too slow. (I also felt like the killers make NO sense.) And once the reveal happened, I just wanted it to be over because it was just dumb.
@Good For Nutting the killers were horrible. The worst of any scream film BY FAR. Their motive was so lame SMH they should have revealed them right from the start so I wouldn’t have to waste my time.
I just saw it at the cinema. I felt this Scream is a true closure to the saga, like "going back to the beginning and give the legacy characters a real true closure", which Scream 4 was not. Craven died in 2015, he may have wanted to give his characters a closure like this if he had been alive. Guess we'll never know... Scream 5 is the most gruesome and explicit on screen, the most violent, which doesn't surprise me because horror nowadays is way bloodier than 25 years ago. I liked it. A solid 4🌟. The first movie will always be irreplaceable, but these guys went to far lenghts to give Wes a deserving homage 😢
@@dusthymn8187 yea see that's still Kinda soft core to me lol, now if this scream gets on the Level of "Hostel" or the "saw" franchise brutal, then it may count as bloodier to me.
@@williammcnair1997 While the opening of Dawn of the Dead is one of the best ever, Scream1 opening scene with Barrymore will NEVER be topped. Is more than a masterpiece.
I think we should've had more time to get to know the characters in the movie to build up on who the killers were, but other than that I found the movie really good!
Something i noticed in the opening scene: its obvious that there are 3 killers, amber in the video call who brushes her hair, the one that holds the phone and shows his knife and the one who attacks tara in her house! And i think the 3rd killer who we will watch in the next chapter, is the girl twin, who "survived" at the very end. One thing i didn't get was how Sam's boyfriend (one of the killers) went from California Modesto to woodsboro and back, so quickly! That says there's maybe a forth killer, so in scream 6 we will see the other two. Remember the theories about multiple killers, before the movie opening at the theatres.
I laughed quite a bit during this movie, and for the right reasons. Especially during the deconstruction of requels and how they impact both modern horror and the motivations. That said, I can agree on the pacing but the directors kept Craven's tone, so that balanced it out for me.
Spoilers I couldn't help but feel disappointed by the end. It played too safe for me. Yes, Dewy did die, but idk thats not enough for me. As I was walking out of the theater I realized something... how about for once we have Ghostface actually win for a change? Like even have the main character be the killer but the audience doesn't know it. Have it be a character study film and have the audience care, relate, and sympathize with him/her. And when it's revealed they're the killer, it's shocking because you'd never expect it and we cared for him/her. And they actually win! Idk, I think it'd be a nice change of pace and could be very interesting if done right. Edit: Another cool idea is no matter if the main character is the killer or not, bring the killer back in the sequel and instead of us figuring out who the killer is(which we would obviously know) we look into the eyes of the victims and see if THEY can figure it out.
I saw this at a press screening on Tuesday and thought it was pretty smart. The first Scream was great but for me after that Craven had issues as well. The original was fun but also very dark at the end...the second one was a huge disappointment for me when it came out, just because that one really felt long for me, it didn´t have enough tension and the reveal/motives were pretty weak. Not a bad movie but in comparison to the first a step down. Part 3 had an interesting concept but was very lame in execution and again, weak reveal and in my eyes the worst of the 5. Part 4 was just solid without too many surprises. You´re right that the directors very much mimic the style of the other sequels which made sense although I really love Ready or Not and thought maybe they brought some of that's visuals into it too. What was best of Part 5 is that it had really tense moments that were missing in Parts 2 to 4...take the hospital scene! And I loved how long the movie tricked the audience about a possible motive for the killer/s...there were so many characters with references to the franchise and you always thought you knew just before the character was taken away. That said, the reveal/motive for me was the smartest one after the original. For me: Clearly behind the first but on par with 2 and 4, maybe even better.
I always feel like I'm missing something when so many consider Scream 2 to be the best of the sequels. I always found it quite dull and felt it didn't know how to build on the whole meta narrative thing. Scream 3 almost did but it also was exceptionally stupid and oozed late 90s cheese in a not good way. The fourth definitely has its issues but also felt it was actually the best to recapture the originals spirit while introducing new elements. This one just might have surpassed 4 for me. Gonna let it sit cause I'm still riding high off that first watch but, like you said, it did feel like it had stakes and tension that I just didn't feel in any of the sequels. Plus the meta commentary was a blast. One thing I love about the Scream franchise is that it acts as a really good sort of end of the decade snapshot of where horror is at at that point in time. Even though I'd be happy if they ended the saga here, if they want to come back in 5 to 10 years and just check back in on the horror genre, I'm totally for it.
@@5DollarGaming yea you definitely missed something if you thought Scream 2 was dull. There are two set pieces in Scream 2 that have more tension than all 4 of the films before Scream 5, it builds on the meta commentary more than the original in ways that even Scream 5 is expanding on.
As a long time Scream fan too, I had high hopes. Couldn't contain my excitement. I left satisfied as hell. I'm with you, the first is the best, it cannot really be touched. The second one I like, but the motives are weak at the end, reveal kind of lame. 3rd one has that setting which is perfect but the execution is piss. The fourth is currently my 2nd favorite, it has that same feeling the first movie gave off while also having a wonderful reveal and motive. This movie also for me had wonderful moments. The reveal in the beginning about not killing the first girl, the tense mother/son killing actually brought me to tears when she was begging for her sons life. The hospital scene and the "my honor" line. The motives were great and honestly for me, the most meta the franchise has ever gotten, them explain how they want to do justice to the franchise and essentially just being fans of the movies. Just absolutely perfect. It gave them time to shine and show there crazy side. The only thing, and I want to rewatch it but once they get to the house at the end, it felt like it went by too quick. They should have had another kill or two before the party dispersed and Sydney and Gale showed up. Otherwise, loved it.
I think the problem of how to bridge the Legacy Characters with The New Crew was easily solvable in Scream 4. Have Sidney's fate be up to the audience-did she survive or not? Then pass the torch to Kirby for the next trilogy. Audiences FELL IN LOVE with Kirby and still rave about her today. She'd have been the perfect choice to bridge that gap. Sidney and Gale (sorry but I think Dewey STRAIGHT UP DIES here) are slowly being phased out, so they need to make sure the new crew are as likeable as Sidney Prescott and her crew were. I think one of these movies should leave the killer alive, but in prison. And have the hero team up with the killer to snag the other two killers. It would be SUCH a good cat and mouse game and you wouldn't be able to trust LITERALLY anyone. EVERYBODY'S A SUSPECT after all.
ohhhhhhhhhhh my god that's A GREAT IDEA. And have the RULES be said BY THE KILLER so that way it's like an unreliable narrator trope! You wouldn't be able to trust them, BUT THEY WOULD KNOW THE RULES cause they not only survived, but kinda CAUSE the rules to happen holy shit someone write this.
I love the original plan for Scream 4 and 5 where Jill survives, Sydney gets amnesia and the killer in 5 is 'i know what you did last summer'-ing Jill, i just heard about it the other day and i cant stop thinking about how cool that wouldve been, as much as 4s final act is amazing as is (proberly my fave final act of all the Screams) i really wish we'd gotton that. Imagine a slasher sequel where the previous movies killer is the protagonist/final girl!! It would of been something different and leaned into the soapy melodrama of the franchise, which i love.
I think the scene in the hospital (you know which one) was done so, so well. I don't think I can recall Ghostface feeling more larger than life than at that moment the camera zooms out and you see him. It was fucking badass, honestly.
Do you mean the scene where for some reason, a hospital is EMPTY? This hospital looks absolutely abandoned, and somehow that skinny young chick managed to tussle with dewey and then stab him and is strong enough to lift him up? Yeah.... great scene
@@joelara3750 that's the only thing that really bothered me. The movie cheats in some scenes by giving Ghostface the strength AND height of a man, only for it to be revealed that it was a small teen girl all along.
What a terrible movie this was. Never seen so many characters get stabbed and shot repeatedly then in the next scene walking around like nothing happened. 😂😂😂
It's a flawed, but fun movie to enjoy. I have issues myself and would've worked the ending differently in my eyes. My ranking thus far: Scream Scream 2 Scream 4 Scream 5 Scream 3
Can't wait to see this, Scream is my favourite horror franchise of all time and got be hooked on the slasher genre and I've always found something to enjoy from every entry. A rarity in horror franchises.
I thought it was a very funny movie tbh. at some points in the movie, everyone at the theater was laughing out loud. I really enjoyed the movie and in my opinion it goes above Scream 3 + 4.
So this may be my stupidity and it's been a heck of a long time since I saw red-eye never realized it was a Wes Craven film, and I always had it as one of my top 10 movies now I know why!
I’m checking it out with my friends this weekend and as a fan of the franchise and Wes Craven at first when I heard about this film my expectations were very low but after hearing people liking the film I have a slight ounce of hope
The People Under the Stairs is quite possibly Craven’s most underrated and under-appreciated. Absolutely fantastic story with a great social commentary. If they remade the film now, it would be such a big hit! Love it!
Went to see it in the theatre from day one. I loved this movie! Also the lead actresses were great in my opinion. I am a huge horror fan and Scream is one of my favourite horror franchises. I think i am going to see it for a second time in the cinema...
I really wish Tara was the main lead rather than Sam. Sam's actor, in the nicest way possible, was really wooden and everyone else's good acting really made her stand out. To the point where it kinda took me outta the movie.
Seeing Mason Gooding, an actor who played a jock in “Love, Victor”, now in this movie had me laughing my butt of because of how different the genres are, but I was also happy for him that he got another role. Hope his acting career will be a successful one!
Movie was trash tbh. Guessed one of the villains at the very beginning of the movie, and the movie completely lost me as soon as deputy shot the ghostface at the hospital but no one had the bright idea to take the mask off to see who the killer was.
spoilers: This is probably an unpopular opinion but I wish there was more character development with the main cast. I feel like the twins, Wes and Judt were under utilized and the main focus was on Sam and Tara.
Tell me how a 5 '2" 110lb petite teenager was able to do what she was able to do. When the killer was supposed to be that petite teenager it had a 6-foot man inside of Ghostface manhandling Dewey.
I agree - we all complain about how slashers today aren’t creepy enough and always need to add a level of humour for whatever reason but there was something sinister and eerie about this film. From the beginning ghostface on the phone was a lot more aggressive in tone. Sounds angry. As soon as I felt that energy I knew that this one was going to be serious and I’m glad they took that route. We all complain about movies repeating the same gimmicks and storylines yet this movie still staying in the scream vibe gave us a new and fresh vibe too.
So basically Chris could have personally given it a c or an a from the way he talked about the film. These reviewers like to play the safe game and not get any flak for giving their opinions.
@@rayromano6249 I remember roger ebert getting a lot of hate for his Speed 2 review. He gave it a 3/4 stars. He said it was a 'fun movie, it did the job and that was fine'. But he got a lot of flak for that review alone. Even Gene siskel. I consider them the best critics out there along with Pauline Kael, Leonard Maltin, Matt Zoller Seitz, Mark Kermode. He even disliked a lot of movies but he was very sound of his critique. He defended the hell out of the review he gave the movie. He even disliked the elephant man. He may have liked it later but i am not saying that it's bad to disagree. Both of them disagreed a lot on movies. If someone has watched their show, they disagreed on some great movies too, especially siskel. So That's it.
@@rayromano6249 Chris had actually made a vid this past summer, as to why he wasn't going to outright rate the films anymore. To sum it up, he enjoys talking about films, but doesn't feel comfortable with the criticism aspect of reviewing. Btw, how's the sports writing game these days?
Credit to it for trying to do for this decade what 4 did for the last one. It was fun, and nostalgic and ticked all the boxes I wanted it to tick. And while I wouldn't demand that any sequel be as good as the original, I still prefer 4 to this one. This one is at least as good as 2 and 3 though and I am happy on behalf of young people today who haven't seen any of the previous ones.
I honestly went in with high hopes because Neve, David, and Courtney signed on. I was kinda the same with Jamie Lee in the new Halloween movies. I was really disappointed in the lack of use of the OGs. I feel like the Billy’s long lost child thing was boring… and odd most of the time he showed up behind her on screen. There was no suspense for me at all, especially the opening scene. There was like 1-2 mediocre chase scenes which is so unlike Scream. The kills were bleh - nothing new, not all that interesting. The third act and the reveal were very lack luster. I’m just not buying the writers spent a lot of time on the motive with Richie and Amber. Sam is not Sidney, which I knew and didn’t mind, but seeing it I’m just not feeling her or her sister to carry on the franchise 🤷🏻♀️ I’ll have to watch it again, and I’ll probably come around. I didn’t like Halloween 2018 when I first saw it cause I felt there was a lack of JLC and gore… but compared to Scream 2022, definitely the better requel of the two franchises. Definitely wish Mathew Lillard got to reprise Stu in some way… or got a bigger nod then he did. I knew Dewey was going to die, based off the first trailer they released with Gale’s reaction… but they really did him wrong. I share the same sentiment as someone I spoke with - Wes Craven kept that trio alive and kicking all these years for a reason.
I felt like Dewey had to die but when you saw it coming from miles away it didn't hurt as much. It lost it's impact on me. I'm older now but I can remember being sad when they almost killed him in 2. There just wasn't anything at stake in this 5th installment of the series. I wish they had stuck with a trilogy.
I gotta be honest I really feel like Scream 4 told this story a bit better, they sure used the legacy characters in a more engaging and believable way in that one. I felt they could have gone way crazier in 2022 with how social media has evolved. The motive for the killer here is kinda "meh" since we don't see a huge chunk of the new cast much until the final act and by then the movie is basically over. I also feel extremely robbed that Iron Flamethrower Ghostface wasn't even a real character like it was teased in the trailers. Still somewhat enjoyable but way less brutal than people make it out to be. Far less kills than Sceam 4 and way less brutal.
Agreed 100% Scream 4 was that bitch The cast for scream 4 …. Magnificent! Not really familiar with these gen z actors and I feel like since Wes had his hand in scream 4 the kills were still more gruesome . Olivia , The reporter , shit even the cops lol.
Every scream movie has a place in my heart for different reasons there’s always something about them and this is no different they are all classics to me and I can see myself doing a marathon every Halloween, I enjoyed this one
saw this. it was okay. the kills remind me of the kills in the first 2 seasons of the mtv series. i guessed who the killer was and i wasn’t surprised. now scream 1 is my favorite horror movie of all time and the way i feel about the series is how i feel about child play: each movie is just another movie in the franchise. i just really wish the original ending was the real ending
I went into this theater with my daughter very excited very nervous I seen a new Scream movie were so stoked about it. But sad to say we were so disappointed especially my daughter she's a die-hard fan of horror movies she knows horror movies inside out. from movies from the past movies to the present and in between. It's sad to see we were very let down on this movie there was no excitement to this movie there was no chases no thrills no on the edge of your seat anticipation nothing compared to the first four movies. The reason they're called it scream is because they scream. And this will be lacked the screaming. I think the OG characters we're bored they seem to have dry lines it wasn't like they wanted to be there it was just like well let's just get this over with so that was a letdown. You didn't get to get in touch with these characters like in the other movies. You got to know them you got to like bond with them and in this movie it was just boom boom boom it wasn't nothing to like say I can relate to that character oh my God I feel so sorry for that character they died. This movie was just not that. We left the theater so let down and we also felt like it was a waste of our time and our money. I could have waited for that to come on Netflix or peacock or something like that. If they do make a new movie I really hope that they put more heart into it and more into their characters and more into the thrill of seeing horror. Yes ready or not was a very good movie I can watch it over and over and over. But this Scream I don't really want to watch it again I probably will be forced to by my daughter because she said maybe we missed something maybe we're not paying attention and missed something but it just was not a good. I can honestly say it sucked in my opinion. A lot of people say it was great because they've been wanting a scary movie to come out and since this is a legacy franchise and it is something that always brings out good content. And the fact that people have been locked in their homes because of covid of course this is going to be a great movie to them of course. One thing I want to say is when they brought in Billy Loomis as a character as a ghost or a Vision. They had him all cleaned up.. what I mean is the only blood he had on him was on his shirt and that to me was pretty stupid. when he died he had blood all in his mouth his neck had a gunshot wound to his head but they've had them all cleaned up all pretty boy looking which by the way he is good-looking but they should have had him come back in a vision or whatever he was as the way he died and so to me that was pretty plain and boring. The girl who played his daughter needs more acting classes or acting skills or some kind of teaching because she did not quite cut it. She was just plain boring she is very pretty don't get me wrong but her acting is not good. and prettiness does not make up for the acting. That's all I got to say for thid movie.. I could go out about it. But it was just a bad movie for me my experience was not great.
I absolutely loved this movie. I have viewed every Scream in the theater and this one is not an exception. It was such an amazing theater experience. Great review as well!
So did I!!!!!! SEEING Sidney was a plus for me I mean that battle scene in the kitchen and by the stairway was so great!!!!!! I rooted for all characters even Liv was likeable!!!!!!! So glad I'm not the only one that loves this movie like a real scream fan I saw this the 13th at night your comment is true and I love how they did a toast to Wes but meaning the real Wes in real life!!!!!!! THAT was a real plus!!!!!! I had a blast in the theatre!!!!! Reeeeeespect to a real scream fan
Hey Chris! I know you’re busy and probably get a million recommendations but I also know you’ve been a big fan of the Jurassic Park series despite the latest entries being pretty subpar compared to the first two. That being said I suggest you check out the series they have running on Netflix now called Camp Cretaceous. It’s presented and marketed as a kids show but I promise it goes deeper than a normal kids show after the first couple episodes, and seasons 3-4 are fantastic, the best the series has been since The Lost World. It also ties in well with the JW movies and is going to tie in with the new one coming in June, so it’d be good to catch up now before the final season drops in May. Anyway hope you see this and check it out, I think this show’s really underrated and want to see someone with a large platform like yourself give your thoughts on it! Congrats on the twins and hope you’re doing well!
I think the pacing of this film felt off: I think I started to become invested when Dewey entered the scene and then again when Gale and Sidney showed up. The final act did feel a little frenzy and some of Sam's dialogue felt super forced. Jenna Ortega and Jasmin Savoy Brown were the best performances of the film though.
I got lucky enough in my small town to view it yesterday evening at 4, with 3 other people in the whole theater. Such a cool experience. I thought it was an absolute joyride. I love your reference of being economical, so many horror movies these days have so much 'fluff.' This one was on rails(with small exceptions) right from the beginning. Great review!
As somebody who considers the original Scream one of my favorite horror movies of all-time, this entry was terrible... It's down there with Scream 3 as my least favorite in the franchise.
@@gclevee so new times mean bad movies? I am not following you. 4 was very hip and new at the time but the cast was much better and new technologies implemented in a smarter way
I had trouble finding the exact words to describe what I felt after watching this movie, and you found them just how they were meant to be said. as usual, Chris and his quite impressive speech skills! great review, man
Dewey does reference that he's been stabbed 9 times and has a limp which also effects his arm. I remember in Scream 2 Randy says "what's with the arm? You were stabbed in the back" and Dewey says he has nerve damage.
She's also 5'3 and is somehow just as tall or taller than Dewey lol. Also gets shot 3 times by him and is totally fine. No mention of body armor either. Dogshit movie
I agree, Chris. While there are some funny moments in it, Scream 5 is def more serious & darker in tone than the other films, so it doesn’t have that ‘fun’ feeling that the Craven films had.
It's great seeing the focus on movies you enjoy! I would like to see Chris Stuckmann's review of the horror classic "Stab!" directed by Chris Stuckmann.
I really liked this movie! It was scary, suspenseful and funny. For me it’s one of the best installments in the Franchise. Avoid spoilers and see it in theater.
I went to a screening last Wednesday and I absolutely loved it. Had a blast and the audience was very into it and I think that helped my experience. I do agree there are issues but over all a great addition to the franchise. Love your reviews btw!
I didn’t get into the Scream movies until around 2013, so this was the first Scream movie I was able to see in theaters, and I think that puts this one in a special place in my heart! I also think the time in between movies also really helps this franchise. Yes you get an updated stack of horror tropes and cliches to reference, but you also get a new mystery you’re trying to solve, and the fact that there’s such a wait in between means we aren’t sick of these characters or the formula of a Scream movie. They’re still fun and still hold a special place in my heart! Scream movies are incredibly re-watchable for me, but there’s something special about the first viewing. You’re guessing who the killer is, you’re actually worried about who survives in this movie, and this one checked all the boxes for a very fun entry of this franchise!
So I agree Jenna was amazing, I love everything I have seen her in and I could see her being a new legacy character, I wasn't sold on Melissa's performance as much as you seemed to be, I definitely say this was better than 3, so I'd have to rank them 1,4,2,5,3 maybe I have to figure it out,
@@xXLuigiXxBullxX 4 was leagues better than 3 for me personally, 3 felt like it was lacking in so much personality I blame the rewrites that happened late in the process, 4 is brilliant,
SPOILERS: I feel like the way Melissa's character acted was good considering she is billy loomis' child. I enjoyed seeing a main character who was good in the end but had a sadistic side like when she stabbed her by like 40 times
Sorry Chris, I thought it was absolutely horrendous. Without spoiling the killers , their actions made me question how that was physically possible being who they are. Shit like that takes me out of the movie.
I really liked it , it introduced new characters well. Very gory, killer, killer reveal. Nice tributes to Williamson and Wes. It was held back a little with the old guard and if there are any more scream films , it could do without them moving forward.
The more I see people fighting over the ending of this film, the more I'm realizing how good the film actually was. The movie wasn't afraid to poke fun at not only itself but the audience as well. I thought that was pretty smart. This film might be just as good as the original scream. My only issue was there were some weird pacing issues. I believe as time goes on this movie will gain more respect.
I thought Scream 2022 was a reboot or a remake, but it’s actually Scream 5 the fifth sequel. Me being not a fan of any horror but RIP to the man behind the first 4 films
Like you, Scream was my introduction to this genre. Really have amazing childhood memories from seeing that first movies. I have special love for this franchise.
Enjoyed this one. Didn’t even watch the trailer. Wasn’t sure what to expect. Yeah, it was a complete cheese fest but I had few gripes. Maybe the most stabs in any Scream movie lol. Loved how they actually showed the kills and didn’t always cut away. Ending was a little unsatisfying but acceptable. I’d watch again. Recommended
Scream 2 was the beginning for me with this franchise. It was the first horror movie I saw in the movie theater with my sister and I remembered I was sweating from fright, cowering and finding cover in my sisters shoulder. But it started my interest into the genre. So, I saw this last night, somewhat afraid that it was going to be awful and that I’ll have fully realized that I’ve outgrown this franchise 10 years over, and I actually was alright with it. It’s a fucking scream film, and it does a good job of staying in the vein of its strong predecessors. I will say, these days it’s difficult for me to watch gore and violence and I’m not desensitizing myself to it, Ive been actively staying away from it and watching this makes me realize why. There are some real brutal and graphic kills in this that will make you wince if you are sensitive to violence (as we actually should)! The leads in this film are compelling, the send off for Wes makes this film a bit more serious than the others which gives it the gravity and slightly darker tone that I can appreciate and they execute a major turning point well that will have fans gasping and all in their feels. I didn’t have any problems with the pacing, partly because I did need a small break from the gruesome violence, and then ofcourse like in all of the scream films towards the end you realize “it’s just about playing with violence”. All in all, I left pleasantly alright with it and for me, it was a more than satisfactory end to a 25 year scare affair. I will not see anymore!
... damn Chris; been with you since you started. Seeing you grow - getting tattoos, becoming a husband, and now a father.... We're getting old mate!! :D the best for you and your family!! hugs from Portugal!
So stoked to see this! Scream is my favorite slasher, even though I hate Horror films, and Scream 2 ia another one of my absolute favorites. And I enjoy Scream 3 for what it is, and love Scream 4. I'm so excited to see this tomorrow!!
Scream 2 is your favourite slasher BECAUSE you hate horror films, because it's not a horror. I disagree with Chris - it's not a horror-comedy; it's YA with a few gory bits.
I respect the VHS tape for scream being in the background instead of the typical 4K or blu ray, but also did you get the 4K transfer for it, if not I would totally recommend it, it looks amazing on the tv
Just saw it, really loved it! Fun time with the most ruthless version of Ghostface yet, not perfect but as far as fifth installments in horror franchises go- I highly recommend it!
Perfect way to put Ghostface, ruthless! This one really felt the most threatening of any Scream movie. I thought this was a great sequel, a lot of really clever set ups and some scary kills. I thought there were just as many laughs in this one as the others but it doesn't take away from the seriousness.
I really enjoyed it. I like that they went a bit more serious with it. Since the first movie, they've gotten more and more borderline cartoonish as they've gone along. Especially 4. This felt SO much more grounded, while still poking fun at the tropes of the genre and the industry today and I definitely appreciated that.
I definitely agree that the pacing was off in this one. I also felt like even though it was set in the same universe, you could tell it had a different tone. I was entertained but ultimately there was nothing at stake in this 5th installment. It is my least favorite. I'm okay just watching the original trilogy.
Just came back from watching - I agree about the pacing issues but overall enjoyed. I just wish that the reveal of ghostface had more connections to the past of the scream franchise than it did - I kept expecting another big twist after the initial reveal.
me too! I really thought there was going to be more to it and was on edge because I expected so much more for the ending. it gave me blue balls when another twist wasn't revealed lmao
@@cmajor886 Same. I thought something about Stu would come up, more than just that rando who got killed and was his nephew or whatever. The fact that everyone kept forgetting that Stu was the second killer of the first movie made me think it would be relevant later!
This movie was (imo of course) purely fodder for the die hards. With that being the case, I love the killers motives HOWEVER and not to compare the two but with the latest continuity of the Halloween "requels" I feel like David Gordon Green has done a magnificent job in elevating the franchise to a point where after H-Ends, we can squeeze more out the Halloween franchise and tell more stories, however here, this is the same plot, same character tropes and nothing to give it a fresh, new coat of paint. I really did enjoy it and will after another watch but I left the theater feeling like "That was Cool" and not asking or needing to know what's next.
Exactly with your last sentence. But I think that was kind of the point they were making that this is a close to the Franchise unless they get a cool idea like the director said.
Yea true...and it should've just been halloween and Halloween ends..halloween kills was more like halloween whack as hell imo..tbh after seeing that I have zero interest in seeing ends..it's like meh tbh idgaf anymore..guve it to Jordan peele and let him make it so I can sleep through it instead for all I care
I had a blast. First time my brother watching a scream movie. Part 3 was the only one I watched in theaters, my aunt decided to take me last min, good times back in the day. She found the movie lame. The Nostalgia trip was insane. I had such a stressful week and this took my mind off everything. Nice tribute to Wes craven, rip
Scream 5 did what Matrix Resurrections was attempting beautifully, probably because it’s self aware nature is already inherent to the story. This movie felt like a solid extension that used the legacy characters to maintain your interest whilst introducing new ones. It’s tongue in cheek but in a way that doesn’t affect the story, can’t say the same about Resurrections unfortunately.
David Arquette was amazing. Goofy Dewey was gone...and it made sense with all he's been thru. I actually loved him more than Sydney and I NEVER thought I'd say that
what i loved is how they pulled off a party for a character who died (Wes) and it kinda felt like a farewell to Wes Craven they took their shots up and shouted "to Wes" in one scene. I think it was a brilliant way of honouring Wes Craven.
Scream is one of the rare horror franchises where each entry is enjoyable on some level. Very stoked to see this.

Skeet Ulrich was very convincing in the first one. He could have been a new johnny depp it's strange what happened to his career.

Really outshined by Jenna Ortega as you said
I agree.
I’m actually an extra in the movie. I’m in the party scene near the third act, behind Jack Quaid’s character, and if you listen closely, you can hear me shout “Buzzkill!” It really was an absolute pleasure working on this movie, especially after how good it was!

Same thing to
Its the 4th favorite for me.
Scream 4 frickin sucked

I loved the storyline and was never bored! I will say the one thing I have to nitpick on was the main actress, Melissa Barrera - not putting her down in ANY way, just thought she wasn’t the best actress for the role. Her emotion didn’t shine through enough and it felt like she was reading straight from script. Anyone else feel this way? GREAT review & love that the movie was all for Wes!
Yes I thought the same thing and I’m surprised more people aren’t talking about it. She seemed very flat even at the emotional heights in scenes with her sister.
Feel the same way
I kinda felt the same. like she wasn't horrible but she wasn't consistent.
@@IHARumor But come on, Sydney can’t really ever be replaced tbh! But yeah I think she’s done after this one!
The hallucination thing pissed me off. I’m trying to say it without spoiling it-that one is my favorite and I hated how it was done. Make sense?
@@heathermarie3672 yes, also its so on-the-nose from her perspective i knew immediately she couldnt be the killer, it would be too obvious.
The group of friends acting callous and casually talking about death while all this is going on has literally been a staple since the first movie. It's classic Scream.
YES! NO TWIST NO NOTHING! JUST A REVEAL 😂

I guessed who the two killers were very early on. Still, I wasn’t completely sure but I had a strong hunch
It's going to be a fun, satirical slasher like all the other Scream films; and that's all it needs to be.
So I'm glad to hear it's getting praised for doing exactly what it's supposed to do.

You have no idea what you are talking about.
Damn you put a lot of thought into this - and I’m here for it all!
Ya Billy haunting on Sam really didn't make much sense
what i found real stupid was that it was amber who overpowered a grown ass dewey and a jock with muscles and she was just as tall if not taller in those scenes where she killed them. no way a teenager can do that
@@drezc5444 amber weighs 116 while dewey only weights 161....it’s entirely possible, especially since he has nerve damage, is old, has a limp, is withered etc.
Is a good film but the Scream4 not convinced to me for the actors are piatted, this is more credibility!
@Good For Nutting the killers were horrible. The worst of any scream film BY FAR. Their motive was so lame SMH they should have revealed them right from the start so I wouldn’t have to waste my time.
@Good For Nutting psychopaths
@@MrGenexxx Yes, by far the worst one of the franchise.
Was it even more gorier than Halloween kills? 😅

Why would there be 4....lmao

I laughed quite a bit during this movie, and for the right reasons. Especially during the deconstruction of requels and how they impact both modern horror and the motivations. That said, I can agree on the pacing but the directors kept Craven's tone, so that balanced it out for me.

I couldn't help but feel disappointed by the end.
My biggest criticism of this film is that it is painfully obvious who the two killers are right from the start.

It's a 5.5 out of 10 for me
@@callumdale5089 3/10
saw it last night, it wasn’t good.
U
Bro it’s just scream, chill out
As a long time Scream fan too, I had high hopes.
Oh my God! I love that idea of needing the help of a previous killer to catch the new ones!
@@Cinedragon RIGHT?! It would work PERFECT for this series.
ohhhhhhhhhhh my god that's A GREAT IDEA. And have the RULES be said BY THE KILLER so that way it's like an unreliable narrator trope! You wouldn't be able to trust them, BUT THEY WOULD KNOW THE RULES cause they not only survived, but kinda CAUSE the rules to happen holy shit someone write this.
Yeah he dies

I thought it was a very funny movie tbh. at some points in the movie, everyone at the theater was laughing out loud.
I really enjoyed the movie and in my opinion it goes above Scream 3 + 4.
The two things that annoyed me about this movie was the title & the motive of the killers..
The movie was trash. The main lead was written in the most unlikeable way that it’s almost funny. It felt like a parody of the scream franchise 3/10
Red Eye is a pure gem. My favorite Wes Craven movie. I'm sure he enjoyed stepping away from horror to do a great thriller.
Yes that's an often forgotten gem when talking Wes Craven!
So this may be my stupidity and it's been a heck of a long time since I saw red-eye never realized it was a Wes Craven film, and I always had it as one of my top 10 movies now I know why!
Red Eye is SO good.
Love it!
They are remaking it. Jordan Peele actually.
@@cedricgrant351 wow, awesome news!!

Cursed is another underrated one.
Nah.. It was boring and ridicolous and ultimately not scary because Craven revealed everything too fast..
Same!
Seeing Mason Gooding, an actor who played a jock in “Love, Victor”, now in this movie had me laughing my butt of because of how different the genres are, but I was also happy for him that he got another role. Hope his acting career will be a successful one!

spoilers: This is probably an unpopular opinion but I wish there was more character development with the main cast.
Honestly, we get so much comedy from everything these days, it’s kind of refreshing to see something take itself a little more seriously
But not in this franchise though...that's what made the others a lot of fun...like Chris said here.
What are you talking about, this movie was cringe
I agree - we all complain about how slashers today aren’t creepy enough and always need to add a level of humour for whatever reason but there was something sinister and eerie about this film. From the beginning ghostface on the phone was a lot more aggressive in tone. Sounds angry. As soon as I felt that energy I knew that this one was going to be serious and I’m glad they took that route. We all complain about movies repeating the same gimmicks and storylines yet this movie still staying in the scream vibe gave us a new and fresh vibe too.
And even Dewey says it “there’s something about this one” and that line was definitely added for a specific reason.
It looks like another great addition to the franchise.
So basically Chris could have personally given it a c or an a from the way he talked about the film. These reviewers like to play the safe game and not get any flak for giving their opinions.

I agree. It was not great.
Agreed 100%
Scream 4 was that bitch
The cast for scream 4 …. Magnificent!
Not really familiar with these gen z actors and I feel like since Wes had his hand in scream 4 the kills were still more gruesome . Olivia , The reporter , shit even the cops lol.
I also thought Jills motive in that one is more relatable and ahead of its time
Every scream movie has a place in my heart for different reasons there’s always something about them and this is no different they are all classics to me and I can see myself doing a marathon every Halloween, I enjoyed this one
saw this. it was okay. the kills remind me of the kills in the first 2 seasons of the mtv series. i guessed who the killer was and i wasn’t surprised. now scream 1 is my favorite horror movie of all time and the way i feel about the series is how i feel about child play: each movie is just another movie in the franchise. i just really wish the original ending was the real ending

I feel like they could have given Dylan Minette more to work with and he would’ve been good in this tbh.

So I agree Jenna was amazing, I love everything I have seen her in and I could see her being a new legacy character, I wasn't sold on Melissa's performance as much as you seemed to be, I definitely say this was better than 3, so I'd have to rank them 1,4,2,5,3 maybe I have to figure it out,
Interesting.. 1-3 are still the best in my eyes. 4 was the worst and although I liked this one I can't place it above 3.
@@xXLuigiXxBullxX 4 was leagues better than 3 for me personally, 3 felt like it was lacking in so much personality I blame the rewrites that happened late in the process, 4 is brilliant,
Exactly my ranking!
Scream 4 is so underrated, way ahead of it’s time
SPOILERS:
I feel like the way Melissa's character acted was good considering she is billy loomis' child. I enjoyed seeing a main character who was good in the end but had a sadistic side like when she stabbed her by like 40 times
Carrie(1976) Suspiria(1977) and Dracula(1992) deserve to be reviewed by Chris Stuckmann
Don’t forget about Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) The Fly (1986) and the Frighteners (1996)
@@nicocancilla8386 exactly
I love that Dracula one!
@@nicocancilla8386 Dracula(1992) is extremely good
@@nicocancilla8386 the frighteners kinda of sucks
Sorry Chris, I thought it was absolutely horrendous. Without spoiling the killers , their actions made me question how that was physically possible being who they are. Shit like that takes me out of the movie.
Hahahah…. Specially when you clearly see Ghostface is a broad shouldered athletic man who’s tall….

Yeah. The girl killing dewey?? Hell naw.
I was laughing at the parts that were meant to be serious😂😂
@@kharma101 man, Dewey got seriously disrespected in this movie. I was so shocked and sad when
Spoiler
they killed him off
I really liked it , it introduced new characters well.
I mean with the original cast returning and had a big face at the posters, it's already a sign that it's a sequel
Like you, Scream was my introduction to this genre. Really have amazing childhood memories from seeing that first movies.
I have special love for this franchise.
Same. I'll never forget seeing Scream for the first time
Enjoyed this one.
the best for you and your family!!
hugs from Portugal!
@@tycarne7850 I never said that once. And so what?
@@mikeystevens4784 facts scream 2 will always be the best
I respect the VHS tape for scream being in the background instead of the typical 4K or blu ray, but also did you get the 4K transfer for it, if not I would totally recommend it, it looks amazing on the tv
Gotta agree, I love the 4K transfer. Would love it to happen for scream 2
I have a friend who played an extra in this movie. I don’t know if he makes the cut or not but I can’t wait to see it this weekend!
Really excited to see what Jenna Ortega can do here. One of my favourite young actresses working today
she was so good. really great acting, i was amazed. such an emotional rollercoaster for her character and she sold it completely.
Dylan Minnette was the only young actor I know in this movie
I had no idea who she was before this, but she's a real standout.
I'd recommend The Babysitter: Killer Queen, it's on Netflix. Ridiculous film, but it's funny and Jenna is great!
she outshone the main lead in this. She emotes really well which made the main girl seem kind of..stiff
Paying homage to Wes was the best thing
I really enjoyed it. I like that they went a bit more serious with it. Since the first movie, they've gotten more and more borderline cartoonish as they've gone along. Especially 4. This felt SO much more grounded, while still poking fun at the tropes of the genre and the industry today and I definitely appreciated that.
Also, I have to say, the stabbings and killings in this one felt SUPER brutal.
@@dustingdustin but it was damn satisfying to see the villains get brutalized... Maybe I'm sick and need therapy, oh dear
@@raytvmy oh it’s not at ALL a complaint! That was awesome. Every kill felt so much more brutal
In Scream 4 and 5 i literally was shocked at who the slasher was which is good
I definitely agree that the pacing was off in this one. I also felt like even though it was set in the same universe, you could tell it had a different tone. I was entertained but ultimately there was nothing at stake in this 5th installment. It is my least favorite. I'm okay just watching the original trilogy.
* Chris' phone rings *
CHRIS (answers): Hello?
GHOSTFACE: Helllooo, Fresh.👻
I enjoyed it but I wanted more of a twist at the end, the killer reveal was very underwhelming. All the kills were great though!
@@frankiesoiree Yes I felt the same way. I was hoping someone would be related to Stu in one way or another.
@@cmajor886 Same. I thought something about Stu would come up, more than just that rando who got killed and was his nephew or whatever. The fact that everyone kept forgetting that Stu was the second killer of the first movie made me think it would be relevant later!
@@sneksneksnek0000 Yeah it’s like Stu is always left out of the mix.smh He deserves to have more recognition,IMO.
Who the killers were was cringey not shocking or surprising and lame
David Arquette was amazing!
Yea true...and it should've just been halloween and Halloween ends..halloween kills was more like halloween whack as hell imo..tbh after seeing that I have zero interest in seeing ends..it's like meh tbh idgaf anymore..guve it to Jordan peele and let him make it so I can sleep through it instead for all I care
kills was terrible..are u on crack LOL
HKill was terrible and 2018 was mid.
