Im not saying its bad but it fails to make me feel the way i feel about sub. I feel like the english VAs don't have as much passion behind it as the Japanese VAs. Yeah sometimes it can be funnier but sometimes its just cringe.

The English dub is FANTASTIC AJ Beckles is doing an amazing job as Ken Takakura. First time he transformed in episode 2 I thought it was a different voice actor! The rest of the cast is great too but AJ is the star of the show! The dub is just perfect to me so it's the only way I'm Watching Dandadan. Also the rap song Otonke by creepy nuts in the opening is amazing, there's an English version of it by Tundra on RUclips it's AMAZING. It keeps 99% of the Japanese lyrics meaning and it's on beat so definitely check it out!!!! And you should check out the manga too it's great!
I think the big issue is that people listen to the sub for long and get used to the character's voices. So when they listen to the dub, they leave their comfort zone and are thrown back by the new voices. The same can happen vice versa.
I mean I tried, with several. Some people said for example the BNH one was decent, so I tried it and Dear Lord it was a pain. Not unwatchable but couldn't match the original. They even had to use tons of voice effects in several parts just to mimic the raw Japanese one -insert Invincible meme here-. I tried Frieren recently, and honestly, it was really good, too bad they got a mature voice for Frieren and made me go back to JP. No hate to the VA though she's got a great voice but it was an odd pick for a thousand year old overpowered child. Dan Da Dan though... it's wild how good it is. Truly. Only reason I'm still watching sub is because the original is also incredibly good.

I had been watching season 2 of it in English, but the JP voices sounded so magical and expressive. I started watching anime in Japanese since then and rarely go back to English. For real you can only watch Black Lagoon and Baccano! in English. Hellsing Ultimate is peak in English. When the shows are not focused in Japan the English dubs shine. It's when the shows take place in Japan that they are cringe. I’ve watched anime since the late ‘70s (if you count old school Speed Racer). There has definitely been an evolution in the dub. DanDaDan just took it to the next level. Granted I don’t watch everything, as I still prefer quietly reading the manga. Sure that I’ve missed a few good ones, but if there is better than DDD I’ll give it a go.
jjk is good and english so is vinland saga, deathnote, dr stone and frieren. watched all in both and loved the dubs. prefer them in subs except for death note which i first watched in english and still prefer but by god on a second watch around those anime dubs are fire, so worth it
I'm glad were in age where we can get subbed and dubbed episodes released at the same time. I'm a dub watcher and the most annoying in the past with dubs is you have to wait forever for a dubbed version of a Anime months or even years after the anime has finished. In those moments I tend to watch a show in sub coz I can't be bothered to wait for dub. I hope in the near future we'll get this with every new Anime release
The Russian dub for Dandadan is also one of the best Russian dubs i've ever heard. It's on the same level as Reanimedia's TTGL and Haruhi Suzumiya, probably even better
Listen. Two animes that are awesome in dub: DanDaDan and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. Worth the rewatch on both, like a different experience. And this is coming from someone who is living in Japan and loves the Japanese language.
There’s a lot of great dubs and it’s usually when the dub has a source that allows them to make good jokes. I almost never watch dubs either but dubs for comedy anime can be absolute gems. Like the Saiki K dub for example, or the Kaguya sama dub.
I'm from Germany and usually not a big fan of German dub, with a few exceptions but Dandadans German dub is soooo good as well! I love the Japanese dub so much, yes, but I've watched it in German now and I loved it even more in my language. Makes me happy to see and hear that the English dub is also great! 😍
Some anime in the last few years like this and Edgerunners are really challenging the subs for quality. I'm still generally sub > dub, but I'm really hoping this trend continues.
English Dub's being bad is mostly just a "Dumb bitch in your ear telling you its bad" kinda thing. A lot of them are good. Sure I prefer Sub to hear the original vision but these days the Voice Actors are of really good talent. Just look at Cyberpunk Edgerunners.

I'm glad were in age where we can get subbed and dubbed episodes released at the same time. I'm a dub watcher and the most annoying in the past with dubs is you have to wait forever for a dubbed version of a Anime months or even years after the anime has finished. In those moments I tend to watch a show in sub coz I can't be bothered to wait for dub. I hope in the near future we'll get this with every new Anime release

The Russian dub for Dandadan is also one of the best Russian dubs i've ever heard. It's on the same level as Reanimedia's TTGL and Haruhi Suzumiya, probably even better

Listen. Two animes that are awesome in dub: DanDaDan and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. Worth the rewatch on both, like a different experience. And this is coming from someone who is living in Japan and loves the Japanese language.

There’s a lot of great dubs and it’s usually when the dub has a source that allows them to make good jokes. I almost never watch dubs either but dubs for comedy anime can be absolute gems. Like the Saiki K dub for example, or the Kaguya sama dub.

I'm from Germany and usually not a big fan of German dub, with a few exceptions but Dandadans German dub is soooo good as well! I love the Japanese dub so much, yes, but I've watched it in German now and I loved it even more in my language. Makes me happy to see and hear that the English dub is also great! 😍

Some anime in the last few years like this and Edgerunners are really challenging the subs for quality. I'm still generally sub > dub, but I'm really hoping this trend continues.

English Dub's being bad is mostly just a "Dumb bitch in your ear telling you its bad" kinda thing. A lot of them are good. Sure I prefer Sub to hear the original vision but these days the Voice Actors are of really good talent. Just look at Cyberpunk Edgerunners.
No it was remnants of horrible dubs in anime, anime video games, etc. and stuff like Hi Dive's dubs.
Dubs have just gotten better than the old days.
