The process for this is the same with other adapters. Updating is the easiest way to set things up to avoid needing to configure the controller in the web configurator. Aside from the Booter 5, you can use the Mayflash v1.1, Wingman FGC, PXN N5, or even third party licensed PS4 controllers (Must be third party and licensed. It cannot be the official PS4 controller nor the PS5 Dual Sense).

I believe it should just be a matter of updating the controller then using an adapter like the Mayflash MagONE FPS or the Mayflash Magic-X adapter. Once you’ve got your controller updated and the adapter plugged in, hold the R1 button as you plug in your controller to put it in the Xbox One mode for Xbox One and Series S/X use. Let me know if that works.

What did you say you did @2:07? Because my controller still gets dc / timeout after 8mins. I have a flatbox with Sky2040+ Pico board and I've already tried Pico.uf2 as well as Cosmox uf2 (this) variants of V7.10. Any tips removing the 8min timeout?
I said that I set a timer for 8 minutes and that it didn’t disconnect after the 8 minutes was up. I also said I used the SF6 Demo on PS5 to check if it worked, and that the demo still helps to ensure that the adapter does work. (I have also since used it on Tekken 8 for the PS5 and it also works.) Do you know what version of firmware the Sky2040+ controller is on? Using other controller’s firmware’s likely won’t be of any benefit since those are specifically configured to those controllers. It could also be a matter of it not using the correct pins for authentication since it’s a different controller, but it should automatically set it up with newer firmware versions so I’m unsure. I don’t have a lot of experience with the other AliExpress controllers so it may be a bit difficult to troubleshoot. Also, what adapter are you using?
@ChronoAscension Firmware it came with was V7.5 Pico uf2, i. I tried openkore uf2 and it messed up my buttons. Now it's downgraded to haute uf2 7.7, i got the options to disable ps4 mode + enable passthru. I nuke before changing variant. Btw my ps5 dongle is unbranded, just says P4 P5 Racing Wheel Converter. Know anybody else with the timeout issue and if they fixed it somehow? :(
You’ve tried about everything I’ve thought of. It may be the adapter that’s the issue, I don’t think I’ve heard of that specific one. The options I know are the Brook Wingman 1/2, PXN N5, MayFlash v1.1, and the Haute42 Booter 5. If your adapter is still within the return window then I’d definitely recommend returning it if possible. You may have some luck in the Haute42 Discord if that isn’t an option or doesn’t work, however that’s generally for Haute42 products. The community is pretty large and may be able to help though so you could maybe give that a go.
It’s not just the PS5 but even the Xbox consoles. But a lot of these companies don’t want third party peripherals being used unless they’re licensed, so they have security protocols which cause the need for adapters. These adapters are a way of making the controllers pass the authentication check so that you can use them despite them being unlicensed. It’s also just a matter of input from one controller to another as not all controllers are made with the intent of it working on a specific console.
Hey good tutorial, but I have a question. I have a PS4 Pro and I got the latest system update (12.0), then my controller stopped working after the 8 minutes limit, whereas the previous version of the OS of PS4 didn't happened. I updated to the latest controller update (0.7.9 and previously was the 0.7.7) but still isn't working. The Cosmox booter 5 was working without updates before the 12.0 PS4 OS. Any ideas?
Did you put it back in PS5 mode after you updated? It resets your configuration once you’ve updated so you may just need to press Y again when plugging in. Otherwise, I haven’t heard of this issue and I don’t see any message results in the Haute42 and GP2040-CE Discords about it, so I’m not sure what to do.
Can u give a follow up explanation on how to get rid of the 8 min time out on ps5 I have the haute42 r16 black version says works on ps5 do you have to have an adapter to avoid the time out or is there a way around it
The controllers are all basically the same just different enclosure and modified PCBs, but they are all functionally GP2040-CE controllers. As of now, there is no other way to avoid the PS5’s 8 minute timeout other than with an adapter.
I got the Brook and when connecting my stick I hold R1 on the pad, it sets the PS5 to XBox mode(allows the controller to be recognized with the PS5). Using PS4/PS5 mode was not working even after firmware updates and custom keybinding.
You are supposed to hold the Y button, not the R1 button when connecting for PS4/PS5. This should fix your issue. If you meant for an Xbox connection, make sure you’re using a supported Xbox adapter as not all work and you can ask around in the Haute42 Discord as there’s quite a few that work.
Are you doing it as it is being plugged in? As in unplug the controller, hold those inputs, and with your other hand plug the controller back in as you are still holding the inputs for several seconds until it pops up.
Maybe try the actual bootsel button instead of the shortcut. You’ll want something small and thin like a mechanical pencil or toothpick. It should be on the bottom of your controller, it’s really small and the button is gold. Plug it in while holding the button and see if that works.

Even if you have no adapter, it should only disconnect every 8 minutes. Try using another cable to see if it’s not a problem with authentication and if it’s maybe a problem with your USB port/cable.
So i connected the magicboots and got it to work but the problem is i cant move my character the directions just are working its almost like they are set to my right stick instead of my left one

Flash nuking is only for when you update it, not when swapping console modes. The timeout is if you do not have an adapter plugged in and is not reliant on flash nuking. Flash nuking in general is completely wiping the firmware on the board. The reason for doing this when updating is to avoid any issues with the current and new firmware potentially conflicting with one another.
Could you test haute pads on Wii? Trying to make an arcade build and I’m trying to decide if it’s worth it to get Wii brand sticks. PS4 controllers work with Wii so I’m curious if it would work
They use an open source firmware called GP2040-CE which does not support the Wii. Maybe with a modded Wii with that one custom application that allows for PS4 controllers to be used, but I’m unsure.
Sorry I was in a rush, so I had only seen the second half of what your comment said. If the adapter is not blinking when plugged into your controller, then it is likely a different issue from firmware. Depending on what model controller you have, it may just be that you’re not pressing it in all the way. The R16 and U16’s USB slots for some reason take more force to press the adapter in. So try and be a little more forceful with it to see if it slots in, just be careful.
Does the magic boots pro 2 not work for ps5? I keep getting timed out. It's version 7.7. I have the controller on ps passthrough enabled and ps4 mode off. Set to arcade mode. Saved and rebooted.
I believe that adapter should work although I'm not entirely sure. There should be no reason to disable PS4 mode anymore, as they have separate profiles. Does your screen say PS5:AS at the top left? It could also be an issue with the cable you're using, although I'm not entirely sure.

I’m unsure as to what process you’re trying to explain. But if you get an adapter like the Brook Wingman, that adapter plugs into the console and has an extra USB port on the back where you can plug your controller into. If you have an adapter with a USB end but it doesn’t have an extra USB port on the back, then it can’t be used as is because those adapters are meant to be plugged into the controller, and require the setup as shown in the video. The Wingman can also be used this way to remove the lag that the usual method of just plugging everything in has, but if you feel that the setup is too difficult, just use it as is.

@@lou_ures I also had the issue with the USB not going in easily to the R16. Make sure to align it straight and put more force than usual since it’s weirdly a tight fit. My other controllers had no issues with the adapter going in so I think that’s an issue on the R16. Also, these types of adapters are meant to be plugged into the side of the controller, not the console. So make sure to follow the steps in the video if you haven’t, and plug the adapter into the controller and not the console.

This video covers how to do so. You will need an adapter like the ones mentioned to avoid is disconnecting. Otherwise, if you don’t want to get an adapter, then you can use it until it disconnects, but you will need to unplug then replug it in every 8 minutes.
Does the controller say PS5 in the screen? If not, you need to hold Y when you plug in the controller. Also, what games are you trying it on? It will only work with fighting games on the PS5.
Just to make sure, you used the flash nuke file, then updated with the Haute42 update file? What version does it say it is on? Also, have you pressed the home button after plugging it in?
I updated my haute to the latest version and plugged in my magicboots adapter and it's still giving me the 8 minute timeout on my ps5 I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong
@@Ismi2002 supposedly no delay when using an adaptor plugged into the passthrough port, but there is a delay with the style that plugs the USB cord into the adaptor and then plugs that adaptor into the console.

@@HusamCoda Plug the adapter into the USB-A port of the controller. Then plug your USB-C cable into your Haute42 controller. After that plug the USB-A end of that same USB-C cable into the PS5.

How you get to that point wont change much but it may introduce latency if you have a bunch of additional connectors such as extensions. But if its from controller to console directly, no additional latency beyond what the booter 5 gives

It should work on PS4 and PS5 fighting games as it is recognized as a legacy PS4 controller. If you are trying to use it for native PS5 games, then it will not work.
I'm not sure if you can use a tablet. Maybe look into flashing pico firmware using a tablet, although it is not something I have experimented with. You could also maybe go to a library and quickly set everything up for it really quickly using one of their computers.

Did you skip the flash nuke step? I’m not sure what would stop it from working other than maybe that since skipping that can sometimes cause issues, but I’m not sure if it causes any issues with PS5 authentication. Also, what games are you trying it on? It’s meant for PS5 fighting games as they have legacy controller support which is what’s utilized for these types of things.
@@ChronoAscension no i followed the steps as directed ive even redid the steps and most of the time it doesn't authenticate. i had it authenticated once and it still lost authentication eventually.
Sorry for the late response, I didn’t see the follow up comments. The only things I can think of are making sure the light on the adapter is on to see if it’s making a proper connection with the controller. If not then unplug and replug it into the controller again. If you haven’t, press Y when you plug it in to set it to the PS5 mode although I’m sure you’ve done that already. If nothing works then try joining their Discord server and ask for help and explain all the steps you took.

Im new to arcade sticks, got my p12 yesterday (my first ever arcade-ish fighting game focussed controller). Could you please recommend one of these adapters you talked about? I wanted to get the booter 5, but i live in Germany. Booter5 + shipping costs more than the P12 + shipping. It's like 70 Euros, im not kidding. Any cheap alternatives would be lifesaving, please🙏.
The options I know of outside the Booter 5 are the Brook Wingman FGC, Mayflash v1.1, and the PXN N5. I’m not sure how shipping is to Germany from AliExpress, but generally you can find the Mayflash v1.1 and PXN N5 on there. For the Wingman FGC it may be on Amazon so I’d give that a look. Also the Mayflash adapter is also on Amazon. If all of these are out of your reach, then you can also use a third party licensed PS4 controller (cannot be original PS4, PS5 controller, nor a third party licensed PS5 controller) as an alternative, but it may be inconvenient with it attached.
I did everything in the process, but when I plug my haute42 it doesn’t display PS5:AS but only PS5, plus after 8 min it doesn’t work anymore, it’s like I didn’t do anything 😂

Let me get this straight. Is there a way to play PS5 exclusive games with the R16? Let's say I want to play 2XKO (I believe this game wont be avaliable in PS4). If I buy the R16, will I be able to play 2XKO? If that's the case, is this video a guide to make it work? Im asking because in the comments, you said something about not working with native PS5 games.
It depends on whether or not that game will have legacy support. So for example there’s a PS5 version for SF6 and Tekken 8, but using an adapter and following these steps will work for those games on the PS5 version. When I say native PS5 games I mean ones that aren’t fighting games released on the PS5 like God of War Raganarok for example. But from what I’ve read on the PS5 alpha lab of 2XKO, there are issues with things like double inputs, so time will tell if these issues will be fixed for the full release.
I think the only known method of key extraction is for the PS4’s DualShock 4, and that only allows for use on the PS4 without an adapter. So there probably isn’t a way to do so with the your arcade stick yet.
Yes it is. It has a couple new features which are pretty cool. It has the all small buttons then the large jump button at the bottom. The buttons even have rings around them that stick up, so it makes it feel more like normal arcade buttons, at least aesthetically.
You will need to update the controller, then go into the web configurator and add a button to change it to Xbox mode. You will also need an adapter like the MayFlash Magic X or MayFlash MagOne.
@@turkeys8788 The MayFlash Magic NS is an adapter for the Nintendo Switch so it will not work if you are trying to use it on Xbox. If you want to use it on the Switch, there is no need for an adapter.
Depending on the controller, then they may work. The Wingman FGC will work with controllers that aren’t from Haute42. The Mayflash v1.1 will work with Mayflash sticks (also depends on model), but I’m not sure about the Booter 5.
I can tell you one thing - it doesn't for me. I play Tekken 7 on PS4. I have a Haute42 B16 board and it works fantastic with the Booter5 dongle. I also have a Sallybox mini hitbox which also provides an EXT.slot, however when you plug Booter5 there, it disconnects after 8 minutes. Also, Sallybox's web configurator has less options for PS4 authentification then the Haute42's.
When you plug the controller in, there’s different buttons to set it in a different mode. So for PS4/PS5 mode you hold the Y button. Then when you want to swap it to PC mode you hold the B button when you plug it in. You don’t have to do this every time you plug it in, it will remember what mode it is in, but if you switch from console to PC or one console to another, you hold the different button when you plug it in.
On PS5 they have about 1 ms delay. These controllers are based on GP2040-CE firmware and using the adapter as I show doesn’t add any additional delay because the adapters are only used for verification.
@@Ismi2002 The way a lot of these unlicensed controllers, like GP2040-CE based controllers get PS5 use is by taking advantage of legacy controller support. Most fighting games have legacy support for licensed PS4 peripherals, so the Booter 5 sets the controller to work with legacy support. So the adapters will allow it to work on Tekken 8.

You are supposed to drag the files you downloaded from your Downloads folder or wherever you saved them over to the window that opens when pressing those buttons. Drag over the Flash Nuke file then the update file.
Oh I said the Y button. Also, you only need to do this step when changing from one console to another as you need to set it to that given console’s input mode. Hope this helps.

1:41 when I do this, no window pops up on my laptop. Im using a mayflash dongle with the haute42 if that makes a difference.

So I did everything in the video and as soon as I get to the SF6 menu, the controller stops working. Do you know what could be wrong?
I am sure I set it up as shown in the video, but the upper left screen says xinput instead of ps5. I may be missing some process, but I am having trouble figuring out what the cause is. Please help.

Do i need to do this flash nuke procedure if i want to swap consoles with Y button etc? or why is this step needed? is it enough if my firmware is updated to use that method of swapping the input mode? Will the 8 min timeout occur if i dont flash nuke?
Flash nuking is only for when you update it, not when swapping console modes. The timeout is if you do not have an adapter plugged in and is not reliant on flash nuking. Flash nuking in general is completely wiping the firmware on the board. The reason for doing this when updating is to avoid any issues with the current and new firmware potentially conflicting with one another.
Could you test haute pads on Wii? Trying to make an arcade build and I’m trying to decide if it’s worth it to get Wii brand sticks.
PS4 controllers work with Wii so I’m curious if it would work
They use an open source firmware called GP2040-CE which does not support the Wii. Maybe with a modded Wii with that one custom application that allows for PS4 controllers to be used, but I’m unsure.

My Booter doesn't blink, like yours does, and my OLED only say PS5 and not PS5:A5. Is something wrong with my Booter?
If you’ve updated to 0.7.10, try downgrading to 0.7.8, it should be the same process as updating.
@ChronoAscension I'll give it a shot when I get home. The Booter blinks if I put it in my laptop, but not in my Haute42.
Sorry I was in a rush, so I had only seen the second half of what your comment said. If the adapter is not blinking when plugged into your controller, then it is likely a different issue from firmware. Depending on what model controller you have, it may just be that you’re not pressing it in all the way. The R16 and U16’s USB slots for some reason take more force to press the adapter in. So try and be a little more forceful with it to see if it slots in, just be careful.

Does the magic boots pro 2 not work for ps5? I keep getting timed out. It's version 7.7. I have the controller on ps passthrough enabled and ps4 mode off. Set to arcade mode. Saved and rebooted.
I believe that adapter should work although I'm not entirely sure. There should be no reason to disable PS4 mode anymore, as they have separate profiles. Does your screen say PS5:AS at the top left? It could also be an issue with the cable you're using, although I'm not entirely sure.
@ChronoAscension i actually just got it all sorted. I returned the pro 2 as everywhere I looked said it doesn't work. Ordered the ultimate, updated my board to 7.10 and I have no issues!

I’m unsure as to what process you’re trying to explain. But if you get an adapter like the Brook Wingman, that adapter plugs into the console and has an extra USB port on the back where you can plug your controller into. If you have an adapter with a USB end but it doesn’t have an extra USB port on the back, then it can’t be used as is because those adapters are meant to be plugged into the controller, and require the setup as shown in the video. The Wingman can also be used this way to remove the lag that the usual method of just plugging everything in has, but if you feel that the setup is too difficult, just use it as is.

But i was wondering instead of getting a magicboot to plug into the leverless controller, if I could just plug a ps5 controller in the passthrough through usb, then plug the leverless in the console

Hi! I receive my r16 and the booster adapter today, it looks amazing! But i have a problem, the adapter don't fit well on the usb on the right side of the controller... So I plug the adapter on the usb of the ps5. Initially, the controller works correctly, but a few minutes later it doesn't work and i have to plug again de usb c to make it work again. Can you give me some tips or help? Thank you!
@@lou_ures I also had the issue with the USB not going in easily to the R16. Make sure to align it straight and put more force than usual since it’s weirdly a tight fit. My other controllers had no issues with the adapter going in so I think that’s an issue on the R16. Also, these types of adapters are meant to be plugged into the side of the controller, not the console. So make sure to follow the steps in the video if you haven’t, and plug the adapter into the controller and not the console.
how can I use the control without having to disconnect it after 8 minutes? and if that time passes I have to wait another 8 minutes or is it just disconnecting and reconnecting?
This video covers how to do so. You will need an adapter like the ones mentioned to avoid is disconnecting. Otherwise, if you don’t want to get an adapter, then you can use it until it disconnects, but you will need to unplug then replug it in every 8 minutes.

Does the controller say PS5 in the screen? If not, you need to hold Y when you plug in the controller. Also, what games are you trying it on? It will only work with fighting games on the PS5.

I updated my haute to the latest version and plugged in my magicboots adapter and it's still giving me the 8 minute timeout on my ps5 I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong

@@Ismi2002 supposedly no delay when using an adaptor plugged into the passthrough port, but there is a delay with the style that plugs the USB cord into the adaptor and then plugs that adaptor into the console.

@@HusamCoda Plug the adapter into the USB-A port of the controller. Then plug your USB-C cable into your Haute42 controller. After that plug the USB-A end of that same USB-C cable into the PS5.

@@blacktimbs8354 Cables should work fine. It;s just transferring data. How you get to that point wont change much but it may introduce latency if you have a bunch of additional connectors such as extensions. But if its from controller to console directly, no additional latency beyond what the booter 5 gives

What adapter are you using? Did you also hold Y when plugging in the controller to set it to the Playstation mode?

It should work on PS4 and PS5 fighting games as it is recognized as a legacy PS4 controller. If you are trying to use it for native PS5 games, then it will not work.

I'm not sure if you can use a tablet. Maybe look into flashing pico firmware using a tablet, although it is not something I have experimented with. You could also maybe go to a library and quickly set everything up for it really quickly using one of their computers.

Did you skip the flash nuke step? I’m not sure what would stop it from working other than maybe that since skipping that can sometimes cause issues, but I’m not sure if it causes any issues with PS5 authentication. Also, what games are you trying it on? It’s meant for PS5 fighting games as they have legacy controller support which is what’s utilized for these types of things.
@@ChronoAscension no i followed the steps as directed ive even redid the steps and most of the time it doesn't authenticate. i had it authenticated once and it still lost authentication eventually.

Sorry for the late response, I didn’t see the follow up comments. The only things I can think of are making sure the light on the adapter is on to see if it’s making a proper connection with the controller. If not then unplug and replug it into the controller again. If you haven’t, press Y when you plug it in to set it to the PS5 mode although I’m sure you’ve done that already. If nothing works then try joining their Discord server and ask for help and explain all the steps you took.

Im new to arcade sticks, got my p12 yesterday (my first ever arcade-ish fighting game focussed controller). Could you please recommend one of these adapters you talked about? I wanted to get the booter 5, but i live in Germany. Booter5 + shipping costs more than the P12 + shipping. It's like 70 Euros, im not kidding. Any cheap alternatives would be lifesaving, please🙏.
The options I know of outside the Booter 5 are the Brook Wingman FGC, Mayflash v1.1, and the PXN N5. I’m not sure how shipping is to Germany from AliExpress, but generally you can find the Mayflash v1.1 and PXN N5 on there. For the Wingman FGC it may be on Amazon so I’d give that a look. Also the Mayflash adapter is also on Amazon. If all of these are out of your reach, then you can also use a third party licensed PS4 controller (cannot be original PS4, PS5 controller, nor a third party licensed PS5 controller) as an alternative, but it may be inconvenient with it attached.

I did everything in the process, but when I plug my haute42 it doesn’t display PS5:AS but only PS5, plus after 8 min it doesn’t work anymore, it’s like I didn’t do anything 😂
Maybe try flash nuking again and reupdating. I’m not sure why it’s not working, but if it doesn’t work after that, try asking around in their Discord. There’s a lot of people there willing to help.
Let me get this straight. Is there a way to play PS5 exclusive games with the R16? Let's say I want to play 2XKO (I believe this game wont be avaliable in PS4). If I buy the R16, will I be able to play 2XKO? If that's the case, is this video a guide to make it work?

It depends on whether or not that game will have legacy support. So for example there’s a PS5 version for SF6 and Tekken 8, but using an adapter and following these steps will work for those games on the PS5 version. When I say native PS5 games I mean ones that aren’t fighting games released on the PS5 like God of War Raganarok for example. But from what I’ve read on the PS5 alpha lab of 2XKO, there are issues with things like double inputs, so time will tell if these issues will be fixed for the full release.
I have a hori fighting mini that has ps4/5 permission. Is there any tutorial on how to extract this permission and use it in gp-2040-ce?
I think the only known method of key extraction is for the PS4’s DualShock 4, and that only allows for use on the PS4 without an adapter. So there probably isn’t a way to do so with the your arcade stick yet.

Yes it is. It has a couple new features which are pretty cool. It has the all small buttons then the large jump button at the bottom. The buttons even have rings around them that stick up, so it makes it feel more like normal arcade buttons, at least aesthetically.
Does the g16 work ok Xbox series s?
You will need to update the controller, then go into the web configurator and add a button to change it to Xbox mode. You will also need an adapter like the MayFlash Magic X or MayFlash MagOne.

@@turkeys8788 The MayFlash Magic NS is an adapter for the Nintendo Switch so it will not work if you are trying to use it on Xbox. If you want to use it on the Switch, there is no need for an adapter.

Does the adapter work with non Haute42 controllers?
Depending on the controller, then they may work. The Wingman FGC will work with controllers that aren’t from Haute42. The Mayflash v1.1 will work with Mayflash sticks (also depends on model), but I’m not sure about the Booter 5.
I can tell you one thing - it doesn't for me. I play Tekken 7 on PS4. I have a Haute42 B16 board and it works fantastic with the Booter5 dongle. I also have a Sallybox mini hitbox which also provides an EXT.slot, however when you plug Booter5 there, it disconnects after 8 minutes. Also, Sallybox's web configurator has less options for PS4 authentification then the Haute42's.
If I make it ps5 compatible , would it still work on pc ? Or would I need it to nuke it all over again and set it to pc mode ?
When you plug the controller in, there’s different buttons to set it in a different mode. So for PS4/PS5 mode you hold the Y button. Then when you want to swap it to PC mode you hold the B button when you plug it in. You don’t have to do this every time you plug it in, it will remember what mode it is in, but if you switch from console to PC or one console to another, you hold the different button when you plug it in.

Try downgrading your controller to 0.7.8 if you’ve updated to 0.7.10 and see if that works. The process of downgrading is the same as updating.

How about delay?
On PS5 they have about 1 ms delay. These controllers are based on GP2040-CE firmware and using the adapter as I show doesn’t add any additional delay because the adapters are only used for verification.

@@Ismi2002 The way a lot of these unlicensed controllers, like GP2040-CE based controllers get PS5 use is by taking advantage of legacy controller support. Most fighting games have legacy support for licensed PS4 peripherals, so the Booter 5 sets the controller to work with legacy support. So the adapters will allow it to work on Tekken 8.

@@Ismi2002They will both work the same for your controller. If you have other controllers and want to use the adapter for as well, then get the Magic S ultimate adapter. Otherwise the Booter 5 is a good option if you don't want a big USB sticking outside of the controller since it is smaller than the Magic S Ultimate Adapter.

You are supposed to drag the files you downloaded from your Downloads folder or wherever you saved them over to the window that opens when pressing those buttons. Drag over the Flash Nuke file then the update file.
Hi, sorry what white button do you need to press when first connecting to ps5?
Oh I said the Y button. Also, you only need to do this step when changing from one console to another as you need to set it to that given console’s input mode. Hope this helps.
