The Traditional Feel with a Few Bonuses | Haute42 R16 Quick Overview
Haute42/CosmoX has shown that they're always listening to what the community wants. With the R16 model there are plenty of quality of life improvements over their previous models. I'm honestly a bit late to making this video though, as this has been out for quite some time which shows how quick they are.

Are these the BEST Arcade Buttons?! | GamerFinger Review

GamerFinger buttons are revered by many for their looks and feel. They have a unique octagonal design which stands out over the usual round design of many other arcade buttons. Additionally, they have nice translucent button caps to further the look of an arcade stick. For feel, they use mechanical keyboard switches which only a handful of arcade buttons take use of. Depending on the controller, then they may work. The Wingman FGC will work with controllers that aren’t from Haute42. The Mayflash v1.1 will work with Mayflash sticks (also depends on model), but I’m not sure about the Booter 5.

    Thank you so, SO MUCH💪, this is the answer to everything ive been asking for❤... Well, all but one thing. Im new to arcade sticks, got my p12 yesterday (my first ever arcade-ish fighting game focussed controller). Could you please recommend one of these adapters you talked about? I wanted to get the booter 5, but i live in Germany. Booter5 + shipping costs more than the P12 + shipping. It's like 70 Euros, im not kidding. Any cheap alternatives would be lifesaving, please🙏.

    • @ChronoAscension
      @ChronoAscension 2 дня назад

      The options I know of outside the Booter 5 are the Brook Wingman FGC, Mayflash v1.1, and the PXN N5. I’m not sure how shipping is to Germany from AliExpress, but generally you can find the Mayflash v1.1 and PXN N5 on there. For the Wingman FGC it may be on Amazon so I’d give that a look. Also the Mayflash adapter is also on Amazon. If all of these are out of your reach, then you can also use a third party licensed PS4 controller (cannot be original PS4, PS5 controller, nor a third party licensed PS5 controller) as an alternative, but it may be inconvenient with it attached.

    • @ChronoAscension
      @ChronoAscension 2 дня назад

      You can select the PCB version on their website. They have options with PS5 compatibility from Brook, but if you get the GP2040-CE version, you will need to purchase an additional board attachment + adapter elsewhere, or just use the Brook Wingman FGC to simplify it. All of those options will only allow use for fighting games on the PS5, but not other games. Next month I believe, Brook is releasing their new adapter that will allow full use of your controller on PS5 with their adapter.

      I’m not sure why yours is bending, even when doing EWGF. You should maybe try pressing the buttons a bit less hard. Or perhaps by bending do you mean the plastic is shifting around because of the acrylic layers? Instead of the R16, you could also try the U16 which doesn’t use the same acrylic layers like their other models. It’s a more uniform and sturdier plastic without any creaking.

    Everything is great, even better feature than Kitsune, only one thing before you buy, if your hands are smaller than normal. Haute42 M-plus is all 30mm button layout which is wider than normal hitbox ones. I ended up returning it cause my hands are small and getting stretched out playing on it.

      Thank you! These don’t have a clicky feel like you’ll find with brown switches. If you look on Arcade Shock’s website, you’ll see they offer a replacement switch for these that is clicky, although I’m not sure how close they are in feel to brown switches. I would also recommend Gamer Fingers (they are a good bit more expensive) as they have hot swappable switches and you can actually put MX style switches like the brown switches in them.

      It’s not just the PS5 but even the Xbox consoles. But a lot of these companies don’t want third party peripherals being used unless they’re licensed, so they have security protocols which cause the need for adapters. These adapters are a way of making the controllers pass the authentication check so that you can use them despite them being unlicensed. It’s also just a matter of input from one controller to another as not all controllers are made with the intent of it working on a specific console.

    I honestly need to order from ISTMall at some point. Especially with the Etokki Omni just kind of becoming unavailable. I think it's really impressive how IST manages to have tiers of prebuilt customizable sticks too. That Makestick Mini is basically a full collar K lever qanba drone, the Pro comps to the older Hori RAP 2/3 series, the Pro Crystal honestly reminds me of the old Tek Innovations cases and even has the magnetic hinged easy access door on the version D variants and now discontinued version B variants. Then top of the range that Prime model legit feels like a Dragon/VLX feature set in a more like Rap 4 to Obsidian sizing and weight. The only K lever setup I've ever used that felt more premium than the makestick prime was someone I know had an AFS steel case with the 35mm hole, but also that build was like over $400 USD and I could get a prebuilt makestick prime optioned the same way for like $100 cheaper. Honestly if they could find a way to just get some prebuilts with like Myoungshin Fantas and Sanwa buttons stocked in the US on a website so I didn't have to do international shipping, I'd probably already own at least one if not two of the makestick range. Thanks a lot for putting up this video, not a lot of people cover the Makestick range on youtube really, especially not in english.

    • @ChronoAscension
      @ChronoAscension Месяц назад

      It would be nice to have more sticks out there for K-Levers other than modding or having to get custom built enclosures. Etokki just sort of going away is unfortunate since I did want to try out one of their sticks one day. You can buy a Myoungshin Fanta and Sanwa buttons from ArcadeShock in the US, but you'd have to end up modding or getting a custom enclosure, but at least there wouldn't be all the international import fees. But the MakeStick Prime being around is good since it's a really solid premade stick and accommodates Korean and Japanese levers. Also thanks, glad the video was insightful, and thank you for adding your own input as well.

      That’s just how this layout comes. Spaced layout definitely feels weird if you swap from stick to stick. Otherwise you should be fine if you’re not swapping so often. Also for some, the spaced layout helps to avoid shoulders getting cramped.

      @@ChronoAscension yup! thats actually what I prefer and the only reason why I don’t want to sell my Qanba Titan. I love how far apart the Buttons are from the lever. I’ve been emailing ISTMall back & forth, bcoz they do not know which layout (Viewlix or Noir)has the buttons & lever farther apart from each other. even pictures on reddit are different when it comes to the distance of the buttons from the lever.

    • @ChronoAscension
      @ChronoAscension Месяц назад

      @@damonlove8 From what I can see, their default layout (the sort of diagonal one) and their CrossUp style ones have the furthest spacing between the lever and the buttons. For the Viewlix and Noir layouts they're much closer, the lever and the buttons. Between the Viewlix and Noir layouts though their doesn't seem to be too much of a difference in distances, so at that point I'd just be focused on button layout preference.

    • @ChronoAscension
      @ChronoAscension Месяц назад

      It’ll work on the PS5 without an adapter but will disconnect after 8 minutes due to the PS5’s authentication check. An adapter will overcome this. Also keep in mind that PS5 support on GP2040-CE based controllers (like this one) is limited to fighting games.

      @@ChronoAscension so the ps5 support with gp2040 is the with the 8 minites timer, i saw a converter called dongle 5 for haute42 and i saw its plugged alone, like the cable isnt connected to the adapter then to the ps5 but they're separate, does it work like that and if so can you give a brief explanation how? id be very thankful

    • @ChronoAscension
      @ChronoAscension Месяц назад

      @@azmohamad1323 I have a video on my channel, it's very short only 2 minutes that explains it. But in short, you just want to update your controller as it is the simplest way to set things up. Then you plug the adapter into the controller itself. The controller has a USB-C port where the cable is plugged into the controller then into the console. But it also has a USB-A port for the adapter to be plugged into. So, once you've updated the controller and plugged in the adapter to the controller, plug the controller into the PS5 and while doing so, hold the Y button for PS5 mode. There are several options for adapters, they all have the same functionality with the Haute42 controllers so choose whichever fits your best personal needs or is available: Haute42 Booter 5, Mayflash v1.1, PXN N5, Wingman FGC, or a licensed third party PS4 controller. If you go the route of a licensed third party PS4 controller, keep in mind you cannot use the original PS4/PS5 controllers, and third party licensed PS5 controllers will not work for authentication.

      They use an open source firmware called GP2040-CE which does not support the Wii. Maybe with a modded Wii with that one custom application that allows for PS4 controllers to be used, but I’m unsure.

    • @ChronoAscension
      @ChronoAscension 2 месяца назад

      I believe you’d need to buy a larger dust washer as that’s what some other arcade sticks do if they have the korean lever sized hole. Technically I think it would still work, I think you would just end up having more dust inside.

    • @ChronoAscension
      @ChronoAscension Месяц назад

      Tried to do this mod today and unfortunately a Sanwa lever will not fit. They actually remove the top plate from the Korean lever and place that contraption you see inside as the new top plate. With the Korean lever parts removed, you can’t make use of the contraption as it does not have accommodating screw holes for the Sanwa lever. Even with it removed, there isn’t a place to screw down the Sanwa lever so you’ll likely be stuck with just the Korean lever.

So I plug the adapter on the usb of the ps5. Initially, the controller works correctly, but a few minutes later it doesn't work and i have to plug again de usb c to make it work again. Can you give me some tips or help? Thank you!

      @ChronoAscension 2 месяца назад

      @@lou_ures I also had the issue with the USB not going in easily to the R16. Make sure to align it straight and put more force than usual since it’s weirdly a tight fit. My other controllers had no issues with the adapter going in so I think that’s an issue on the R16. Also, these types of adapters are meant to be plugged into the side of the controller, not the console. So make sure to follow the steps in the video if you haven’t, and plug the adapter into the controller and not the console.

      Did you skip the flash nuke step? I’m not sure what would stop it from working other than maybe that since skipping that can sometimes cause issues, but I’m not sure if it causes any issues with PS5 authentication. Also, what games are you trying it on? It’s meant for PS5 fighting games as they have legacy controller support which is what’s utilized for these types of things.

      Sorry for the late response, I didn’t see the follow up comments. The only things I can think of are making sure the light on the adapter is on to see if it’s making a proper connection with the controller. If not then unplug and replug it into the controller again. If you haven’t, press Y when you plug it in to set it to the PS5 mode although I’m sure you’ve done that already. If nothing works then try joining their Discord server and ask for help and explain all the steps you took.

    I know i keep leaving comments.😅 This Review was amazing, relaxing, HIGHLY informative! the attention to finer details like sound especially the down input was really wonderful. Thank you. Reminded me of when my Father and I were looking for a nice Chess Set for his new chess table. We ended up buying 1 piece from a variety of sets. Then met up one afternoon and just sat there. Picking them up, checking weight, balance, and... how it sounded / felt to set the piece down. (we take our chess seriously) hehe. Point is, fine details matter! I really Loved this review and will now look into your channel! Thank you for posting it. I just got my hands on Fightcade, and plugged in my Street Fighter 15th Anniversary Arcade Stick. It’s honestly about practice and not so much as the controller. Some people prefer one or the other because it’s what they’re used to and it’s what they’ve practiced on. I would recommend checking out JoyStickNY’s tutorial on youtube for how to use an arcade stick if you’re having any issues with the learning process. If you’ve used keyboard for other games, and that’s what you’re used to, try using it to play fighting games and see if you want to make the switch to a leverless controller.
