- After scouring the interwebs for a solution to this common OBS problem, I found a simple solution that work's for me, so I'm sharing this knowledge with you!

My issue is I can get the audio and everything working it’s just when I plug my headset into my controller it completely takes away the game audio
Brother I watched two other vidoes and they jus talked about changing settings. This fixed my issue. I truly appreciate it as someone who is not the most tech savvy, and is looking to get into streaming.

You’re a goat bro I was getting audio lag on my records and lives from my ps5 to one and this all fixed it and I’m using a Mira box capture card same method worked
It's ridiculous that you need extra cables and 2 headsets just to get sound working

have you had any issues with the gameplay audio from the ps5 cutting in and out while you stream? it works fine for about 10 seconds then cuts out for 2 or 3 seconds.

Don't know if you'll see this. Im getting audio from my capture card, only its not the full audio. Everything sounds warbled. Higher frequency sounds come through but bassier sounds don't at all. Any tips? Ive literally tried everything here.
That kind of issue sounds like a bad connection. Plug your headset up to the console, if it sounds normal, then I’d imagine it’s a capable or equipment malfunction.
for some reason I still can't get any audio feed coming through in the audio mixer. Like there is no sign that anything is even coming through visually. with the sound levels in the audio mixer.

Hello bro, great video that fix a lot of questions but I still have one,
if I have wireless headset that connects with USB type C dongle to the PS5, can I just plug this dongle to my Laptop so I can hear the PS5 audio through the OBS and also record my voice through the headset and record the game audio in the same time through the HDMI from the Elgato ( or any other capture card ) ? P.S I am not playing games that needs party chat, mostly playing solo campaing games, so i just need to record my voice to the stream or videos.
Will be truly appreciate if you can answer if this will work that way.

I’m having the same issue - I am upgrading to PC but for mean time I really wanna stream my games but the audio issue on my Mac is so frustrating. So hard to find videos that cater to Mac aswell as pc.

I need help. I use a Steel Series wireless headset. I can't hear the audio from the headset even if I choose that as a monitor. If I plug in the headset to the capture card. I hear the audio very low. How can I get OBS to feed to my headset. Advance settings was set to my headset for a monitor and that did not work.
Would selecting the capture card under "custom audio device" also turn the sound on from the capture card?? 🤔

Can I kind of do the reverse for a mic situation? So I'd use two mics so my friends and my stream chat can hear me? I'd use my headset for my party chat (my friends) but I'd have an external mic (hyperX solocast) plugged into my computer and hooked up to OBS so my stream chat can hear what I'm saying. So my voice is being captured by two different mics with one sending my voice to my PC and the other to my PS5. For my game and party chat audio I'd just use the output of the HDMI like you suggested so I can hear it in my headphones and my stream can hear it as well. Would that work?
You can. This is exactly what I do. I have my audio all running from my PS5 to my PC, but, as an Input on my PS5 I have a separate mic for my party chat. Now, if you have you audio sharing setup properly on your PS5, you can hear your party/game chat audio via the headset hooked up to your PC and communicate via the two separate mics.

the issue im having is im using obs on my gaming laptop that sounds like a jet when running obs. so when i use my computers mic, you can hear the loud computer jet noise in the background. How do i use the mic from my headsets thats plugged into my ps5 controller to be the mic that obs plays instead of my shitty computer mic? please reply asap
Question first. Are you trying to record gameplay, or go live on RUclips/Twitch?
I didn’t have this problem until a bought a new monitor that had speakers in it. Now I’m not sure what to do cause everything else is the same.

So what was your quad cast hooked up to? Your pc or straight to ps5? And does your lic have to be hooked up to your pc to hear your gane audio only or can it be hooked into the controller?

I can hear the audio from my PS5 while my headset is plugged in to PC but the audio is syncing with OBS. OBS is delayed by a few seconds. Anyway to fix that?

Hi, just watched the video. Trying to make sure I'm tracking.. plus I play destiny too, which has been my reason for getting a capture card because you can't hear the other party in the chat when I stream.
I have a steel series headset so I'm trying to figure out the best way with audio quality loss which seems I get that from my pc.
When I do this I get no audio in my headset tho and it only goes to the capture card

I tried this method and I still can't get game audio on my headset. I use the Arctis 7p and have tried everything to get game audio and chat audio. Nothing works. My stream comes through but I can't hear anything and can't talk in party chat on my ps5

wait so question, how did you have your headset plugged into the ps5 but got the audio from your ps5 coming through a headset plugged into the pc? very confused lol because i just purchased a usb headset and realised this issue

I did all this but I could not hear the PS5 at all. it was recording the sound on the computer, so great, but I could not hear the ps5 sound thru the headset.
Yeah but shouldn’t have to do this all because they don’t support 2 way audio. Xbox works fine no problem what so ever but on ps u need a to do all of that. Great guide by the way wasnt moaning about your video just the fact you have to do all of this 😅

Is anyone else getting the delay in audio? I mean I move around the PS5 home screen, but there is a delay in audio from OBS. Can't play PS5 games with my PS5 headset for realtime audio AND capture PS5 audio through OBS with your method. If I change it to your way, I can no longer use my PS5 headset, the audio comes through my PC via OBS, but there is a delay between movement on screen and audio. Seriously NOT a solution. Is there one that marries up the sound?

Check your audio device on the elgato it should be on custom audio device and the device is the elgato, not wavedirect or direct sound

Xbox is not the same it let's you run 2 audio sources at once I will say I'm gonna try this I bought the chat link pro and I can't get it to work with my nova pro wireless but just so you know xbox is as easy as plug and stream
What I also meant to say was I hope this works and if it does I'll sub brother this has been the most infuriating process ever I don't main on ps5 I just play exclusives and I wanted to stream them didn't know it was gonna be this big of a pain in the ass but thanks im gonna try it

No xbox has this issue bc they dont have built in mics . its HDMI playstation is analog audio only thing i dont like about playstation
Xbox isn't the same. Microsoft was smart enough to allow game audio be output to both the HDMI and AUX at the same time... I have a PS5 now and am so disappointed in the lack of that feature. I don't understand why the PS5 doesn't have it.
