Just saw this yesterday in my hometown and it was absolutely awesome. ❤ the jurassic park score is just incredible!! They are doing E.T in march 2025 and you bet i'll be there
I wouldnt say the best movie in the world.... but deffinatly a real GOOD movie, with an amazing soundtrack!... Now if you want to watch The Shawshank Redemtion, that was a GREAT movie!
Every time I see that scene, I feel 17 years old again, in the cinema, highly impressed after a very intense Journey. I remember telling to myself, exiting the theather "Thank God dinosaurs don't exist!"
Interesting "fun" fact: Steven Spielberg was never there during the scoring sessions for Jurassic Park. Instead he was in Krakow, Poland, filming Schindler's List over the course of 72 days. He listened to the score on either tape cassettes or CDs in his car.
I’ll NEVER forget seeing Jurassic Park for the first time opening weekend in 1993 with my Mom. She took me cause I was only 5 and I wanted to see the dinosaur movie. Little did I know it’d be the greatest one ever made and all others fail in comparison. Thank you to all involved for giving us Jurassic Park.
3:42 personally i wanted them to cheer at Jeff Goldblum's credit. rawr.. jk i think they cheered too much. they just can't wait till the end can they! might as well have their ringtones set to people applauding and communicate with claps. but then everybody be looking down all the time. lol
I think its like, idk, knowing that birds are decendents of dinosaurs it brings questions like "¿why bring back dinosaurs?", they are here, they always were here cause in a way or another.... Life finds a way
Makes me cry, reminds me the first time i watched the movie in the theather , everybody just like this at the end started to clap, and got excited, the movie was so epic back then, so good memories
0:15 So interesting to see music that originally tracked into the scene become an official part of the score. Also much like E.T. in concert, they use the concert version of the theme during the end credits opposed to the original, though this one doesn’t fill up the entire time.
Saw this at the Usher Hall, Edinburgh in September 2018 and it was truly phenomenal. The movie itself is as good as it was when it came out in 1993 but with the added element of the orchestra playing the soundtrack, it was nothing but epic :) :) :)
I wish they would do this more often. I saw something like this when I was young (I think it was a sampling of different movies). It really changed the way I listened to movie soundtracks and still listen to just the music today.
Oh my god, I am really so close to crying while listening to a John Williams soundtrack in concert. PS: People, stop leaving or chanting during the end credits, they are (especially in a concert) an importan part of the movie
I've gone to several concerts like this now and I can't believe how may people leave during the credits - can't even stay for the end of the concert to give a proper applause to the performers.
I would fucking cry, and im a us marine 😂 so many people in the same room paying respects to one of your favorite things in your life, it would be so emotional
The energy from the audience is the greatest thing about these concerts other than the music. Surrounded by a couple thousand people all enjoying and loving the same thing? It’s beautiful.
Fun fact my two fav movies of all time are Scooby Doo and the loch Ness monster and Jurassic park, Jurassic park so much so that I watched it alot when I was little, I went to one show like this and when they started playing the duh duh duh dun dun part, as soon as it started building up to that part I started crying because it was both my birthday and this was my present from my mom and two, it's so much better in person, like holy Jesus, when that theme played in Jurassic world when I went and saw it in theaters I cried too because I never thought they'd touch Jurassic park ever again after three and I was so sad there weren't gonna be any more Jurassic park movies. So I went to the theater being like "oh boy another reboot that's gonna ruin the series" and it had it's...meh kinda moments, but as soon as that dang theme started I was tapping my mom's arm really fast and tears Welled up in my eyes lmao. This movie means so much to me, takes me to a better place and time in my life
those poor kids must have had a raging case of PTSD (I mean in the movie world, not the real world). Love that the audience applauded the great Phil Tippett's name.
Algo que siempre me rompe el corazón es la tristeza de Hammond al ver su sueño aplastado hecho trizas, quería darle al mundo un regalo pero al parecer ese regalo fue quemado
Went to one of these shows in Duluth,Minnesota featuring the Duluth/Superior Symphony Orchestra this past Saturday with my girlfriend. Both of us really liked the show. This was an awesome experience seeing the film with the live orchestra.
When best director, all cast, crew and composer work together, we can see priceless masterpiece. Whenever i see Dr. Grant gaze pelicans fly, i always feel the serenity.
Those were the days when the music tracks were not afraid to be brought front and centre in the mix for storytelling, when appropriate. Where has that all gone today? Fallen Kingdom, Solo: A Star Wars Story, even The Last Jedi, did they even have orchestral soundtracks? Yes, they did they are all very good when listened to without the rest of the mix. It's a real shame for Michael Giacchino and John Powell etc. Even John Williams himself feels absent in the case of The Last Jedi. Please don't let the orchestral scores die and bring then out once and a while.
I thought The Last Jedi was of Williams’ better recent tracks. Certainly better than The Rise of Skywalker and The Force Awakens, if not quite up to The Phantom Menace. I suppose that’s just preference though.
This is so frustrating: the audience starts clapping before the orchestra has a chance to finish the piece: there is still music to be played: you can see the resignation in their faces and body language. The final segment of that track is quiet and serene: there was no way they were going to keep playing with the audience clapping so much. Such a shame. I was there and it pissed me off. I felt like shouting: shut up!!!! Amazing concert nonetheless
This s would have been a dream come true. I would have been clapping and tearing up. In my opinion, this is simply the best movie and soundtrack of all time.
John Williams composed the music for Jurassic Park, the same year as The Schindler's List, for which he won an Oscar. Otherwise I probably would have won it with this soundtrack, which is absolutely great.
If I were ever to be able to attend one of these, I would stay till the very end. Lots of work went into the JP soundtrack. There's even a vid that breaks it down by each section of the sheet music.
I nearly did as well, it just goes to show that; if done right, with good writing, good casting, good acting, and an amazing soundtrack, a movie can become an experience. And that is exactly what happened in this video!
I am sick of 'Star Wars' theme ranking over 'Jurassic' -- This is undoubtedly Williams' best and makes you feel like you are certainly IN the park. In fact, I love 'Empire of the Sun' better than Star Wars also. People also forget Williams composed 'The Patriot' which was one of his finest also.
Star Wars ranks highest because it has the most iconic themes. Besides the opening crawl, there is also: The Imperial March, The Throne Room, Rebel Fanfare, Yoda's Theme, Rey's Theme, Duel of the Fates, Across the Stars, etc... JP has two primary themes while The Lost World's score is not recognized by most audiences.
Amazing stuff but I don't know why they play the final moments from the JP concert suite, (and the ending of the Lost World credits) instead of the actual end of the score with the reprise of the JP theme on quiet piano.
I just wish they would use the actual film arrangement for the end credits and not the concert suite version. it seems weird with the credits still rolling after the orchestra's finished.
Grant's glance at the birds are specially meaningful, he was like, these fools spent all that time and effort trying to revive dinosaurs, but dinosaurs never died... look at the birds, their ancestors' spirits live on in them, the dinosaurs are doing just fine, so what's the point of all this mess lol (imo JP should have ended here, all the sequels are garbage)
We don't get movie scores like this anymore unfortunately. I have a theory that part of the reason that Hollywood is dying is that the magic is gone. Instead, politics and mindless cgi fests have stagnated the industry.
I love this movie but always felt bad for Mr. Hammond who had good intent however proved that cheating to win never works. He learned the hard way that it was better to follow the steps than to take a short cut (adding the Frog DNA)
The days when blockbusters were about human stories and weren't ruled by effects. The effects either served the story otherwise they weren't incorporated. Now the art has all gone and it's only disgusting commercialism.
I don't remember the following movies too well.. Do they say if they If Grant, Satler, and Malcolm are prohibited from talking about what happened on the island?
That piano tone gets me every fucking time 😭😭😭
thank God for giving us john Williams
The fact that they had to play 2 hours straight through the movie. That is amazing!
They had a 30 min interval I remember
And plus more scenes have no music
Like the T. rex breakout it was just the movie no music
Those fingers can hold shit
Oh my god, I didn’t even now they did it for that long. I have so much respect for them.
The ending where the helicopter flies off towards the setting sun always makes me cry.
Gives me chills every time
Glad I’m not the only one
Great cinematography too! W/ the music
makes me sad its over too
