Being young doesn't mean being fit. Just look at djokovics own history. Most tennis players are actually not that fit when they enter the tour.

It was a great match. Jakub Menšík was also great in the first set.
So now Fritz (in a strong form) and then Sinner in the final (for me 95% win VS Macháč), very tough, but not impossible for Nole, the G.O.A.T.! I want the revenge in the final, like against Alcaraz (especially in 2023 at the Cincinnati Open, one of the best Master 1000 final of all times).
Go, Djoker! Win this Master 1000 title and your 100th title. Make history again.

Not only the genes. The Czech tennis school is great. Look at the past players, they all play similar, close to the baseline, taking the ball early, playing flat very well, brave tennis and of course super clean technique. So yeah Czech school plays a role. (Former ATP player).
Even losing to the GOAT must have been an honor and a shot of confidence to this future star Mensik. He looks injury free and moving faster than last season. His BH is crazy down the line. He hugged the GOAT like a respectful son. I like his cool on court and his lack of need for constant crowd adoration.

This may sound really weird but I feel like Novak had to play nadal, Federer and Murray who in my view were the “masters” of their styles and now all these new players are taking a little bit from each and since Novak already faced the masters he know where the best possible shots could be. Due to his age, it’s more about covering the middle and forcing the other player to execute that perfect shot
Excluding some minor mistakes, Novak Djokovic had a large superiority and vast ascendancy along the entire encounter. Even though Mensik forced the limits and borders on the pitch, it wasn't adequate to compete against such a robust tennis competitor. Another top-flight performance from previous world no.1!
Djoko is reinventing his game in at least a few ways…. wonder what he will be able to achieve the next few years

He’s just not that fleet of foot anymore. He’s been slower since 2023, he managed to overcome that with brilliant attacking tennis.
Mensik his serve looks very fast and good really hard to return ! Is he young ? I watched him for the first time but he is for sure not a top 80 player much better then that i have to say 👏

I don't remember when the last time Djokovic lost the game while serving for the set. Mensik is looking very impressive.
He simply lost his focus a little and made a couple of mistakes, it happens, I had no doubts at all that he would increase the gas in the second and third sets.

some of these younger players have great potential . i think we will see a lot of good quality tennis in years to come but I still think Novak can compete at a high level for a couple more years due to his superb fitness
Novak played against Mensik for the first time, so it is normal that Novak had a lot of difficulties, and for the Menšik match against Novak, there was additional motivation, so he played this match.
