My heart just broke into a thousand pieces. Thank you so much, Rafa, for all the amazing tennis, joy, excitement, and great sportsmanship.
This was way overdue. Rafa has been done for a while now.
Get lost. Ukraina
I'm not sure why you are grieved when you know very well that this day has been coming, and frankly is happening way later than anyone could have predicted
Viva Rusia!!🇪🇦🇪🇦🇷🇺🇷🇺
@@brianschultz7320for the last year or so. Won the French in 2022 so not that long ago.
I remember skipping school in 2004 to watch him in finals. I still have some of his matches on VHS tapes. End of an era but thank you for the memories, Rafa.
That 5-setter in Rome against Coria during the Masters final...what a legendary fight. I saw it right after school - one of his best clay matches in adversity
@@guillaumechatelain5650 oh man, yea they had a few really good finals before Coria lost confidence. it was definitely a fun era.
Tennis ends for me... grew up watching him play ... always watched every match he played whatever the tournament may be... suffered heartbreaks with him in some of the closest losses... overjoyed at some of the miraculous comebacks... but always been inspired by him whatever the end result may be... he's been my òne TRUE idol all my life. An example to emulate that shaped my own character.
Adios campeon 😢
the big 3 era is not done yet until djokovic retires, maybe for you because of Nadal, but tennis as sport is bigger than every name or player,
He is unique, he is pure drive, pure passion, pure spirit. Incredible man and athlete
Well said, I can't agree more😢😢😢
Mine too
Hahah😅😅😅 novaak goat
I remember his first RG back in 2005. I was 15 back then...I felt old with his retirement...thanks for all Lion...greetings from Serbia
I am the same age as you and I too remember that first win all those years ago. Like you, his retirement makes me feel old... Cheers to aging like fine wine, my friend!
@@renardfox328 I remember it too. I was 39. And I felt old THEN!!! Bloody decrepit now....
Mind you I think my knees are in better shape than Rafa's
@@edward1591 Haha! The effects of age come for us all I guess (if we're lucky). Unfortunately I got my first big knee injury last year. I spend more time doing injury prevention than actual playing/training. I hope your knees can hang in there longer than poor Rafa's!
Been following Rafa for 2 thirds of my life; absolute champion - "victory belongs to the most tenacious" quite literally sums him up. Forever the goat and my idol, thank you legend!
I wish him to go with the Davis cup trophy !! he deserved to go in a great style like he did when he start playing !
legend
As a Novak fan I never hate Nadal I love him and Fedrer but hey this is Nadal's moment ❤❤❤
Well said 👏🏼👏🏼
We love you. Rafa. We love you. We love you. We love you. Thank you for everything you have given us.
It’s been a PHENOMENAL run RAFA. Thanks for the memories.
PHENOMENADAL
As a Fed fan nut, thank you Rafa. To be able to love a guy that delivered so much heartbreak speaks volume about your character and fighting spirit. The Spanish Bull from Mallorca--we'll miss you.
After watching Rafa on TV for 2 decades, I finally enrolled for tennis coaching 3 days ago and then I get witness this announcement 😢. Your passion and love for the game has inspired many people to hold a racquet including me ❤. Sending lots of love and Vamos Rafa 🫶🏻🫶🏻
Having been a Federer supporter since his Masters Cup semifinal against Hewitt 2002, at the time I certainly have not always enjoyed the reality and often superiority of Rafael Nadal's capabilities, but even then I could never deny the outstanding athlete, competitor and sportsman he has always been. He is leaving a legacy of extraordinary craft, resilient sporting spirit and enduring passion. "Thank You!" to a gentleman who has given a lot.
He made roger a better player what else we need... If there was no Nadal tennis would have boring as fed dominated every thing... Nadal is very important for sport and what a gentleman he was
@@atharvranade2266So true, in sports, your greatest rival is not your enemy, but your friend! As he brings out the absolute best out of you! Once both rivals retire, they come to realise or understand that fact more clearly and appreciate one another, as they shared something unique, that only elite athletes can experience. Thank you Rafa! The Great Spaniard and True King of Spain.
@@mars27970 That's right. They have a genuine friendship, too. There's good reasons for why their rivalry was more watched and celebrated.
He’s the reason I play the way I do (still do), extreme topspin, buggy whip forehand. Even if my coaches frowned upon it, I didn’t care I wanted to play just like him
what is your ranking ?
Tennis was over for me the day Rafa stopped playing and did not even want to watch this video but well can't hold back watching the memories of my all-time hero!!
Everyone has their favorite of the Big Three but together they make the tennis team. Federer with the power and unbelievable talent, Nadal with the spin and amazing fighting spirit, and Djokovic with the control and mentality. My personal favorite is Nadal but all three have changed the tennis game. We'll miss you Rafa. Vamos 🔥🇪🇸🔥🇪🇸🔥🇪🇸
We can have all 3 back: Carlitos Alcarazz decided to master all their skillz🎾🎾🎾
Federer's graceful, effortless movement. His strong, accurate serve. His beautiful one-handed backhand. Nadal's heart. His unparalleled mental toughness. His power. His crosscourt and down the line forehands. His punishing style of making his opponent run to both ends. His phenomenal two-handed backhands. Their love and respect for the game. You could go on and on about what these two meant to the game and to the fans. Their appeal is otherworldly.
Such an icon. Thanks for the memories, legend
Crying with a smile now.. thank you for your spirit Rafa ❤
So many feelings, not sure what to say. I think we all grieving - we knew it was coming - this is hitting me hard. Damn!
Aww Rafa❤ This is such a beautiful tribute!❤
Legend❤
People forget how gifted Rafa is technically. His famous incomparable forehand, his underrated net game, his sliced wide serve, etc.
Nadal is the best clay court player there will ever be, and a great ambassador for tennis 🎾 and for España 🇪🇦
Absolutely blessed to have grown up with the big three. Two down, one left. Rafa you are a warrior. The Spanish Bull. Grit, resilience, heart and not to mention humility. Thanks for the memories - will never forget Wimbledon 08. You’re an icon of sport ❤
The best fighter in the history of sport and an example of humbleness and respect. You will be missed sooo much by sooo many. Thank you for these two decades and best of luck with your new life. ❤
I’ll say my small comment here to everyone. I was a big Agassi fan growing up and thought he would always be my favorite player. Then I stumbled onto Rafa when he played him in the Canada Masters final in 2005. I became a huge Nadal fan ever since. His career was the most wild ride to be a part of. The most incredible matches in history underscored by the most frustrating injuries in tennis history. He laid it all out there for us. Thank you Rafa for everything you gave us! My greatest choice of all time. Once more, Vamos!!!!!!!
Hi Rafa,I am from madhubani,Bihar,India and you have inspired me a lot. Your never give up attitude, your fighting spirit, and your tenacity are something i love a lot.Thank you RAFA,Love and respect from India
I cried, hard. An era ends... It's so hard to accept.
There will never be another Rafa but he will forever be in my heart.
Every1 dies the goal isnt to live forever but to create something that will.
Rafael, I miss you so much I cry when I hear you’re retire❤️❤️❤️
I remember when I first saw him in a magazine in 2004, when I was still in primary school, and a left-handed athlete like me caught my eye. Then, I started seeing his games broadcast on the morning sports news in my country. I knew I was admiring the right person, and I've followed him ever since. Thank you for everything, Rafa. To me, you're always the best athlete.
The true legend , greatest sportsman, honourable personality and will be missed 😢 in Tennis always ❤️ ❤
*You're immortal, king of clay. Thanks for everything, legend of tennis.*
You, Djoker, Roger and Sampras are my favorites. I will always remember your great matches against Nole and Roger.
Best wishes, Rafa.
Having watched almost every single match of him since 2006-2007 season, it's actually not that difficult but a proud moment for his fans to see him play like he does for so long ❤❤
I’ve never been your fan because my loyalty lay with Federer, then Novak, and now Carlos. However, that has never diminished my immense respect for you. For me, no matter what others say, you are not just a legend; but also one of the GOATs. Federer, Novak, and the others pushed their limits because of the fierce competition you brought to the court. Your epic battles with my idols have made me love tennis even more, solidifying it as my favorite sport.
Your absence will be felt deeply, for there will never be another Rafael Nadal. Although many people are named Rafael, for me there is only one Rafa and that is unique to you alone.. Love and respect to you, always. Best wishes for your future endeavors.
- RAFAel Nadal
Thanks men for your amazing words. ❤❤❤
Loyalty? what loyalty here? 😂😂
@@samirsolai7579 Loyalty.. Yes..!! My admiration evolves, but respect remains.. Greatness in tennis isn’t about sticking to one player, it’s also about appreciating the legends that shape the sport..
Well.. Some dumbwits just don’t get the nuance..!!🏆🎾😌 Please don’t waste my time and yours posting such nonsense.. This is indeed an emotional moment, honoring a stellar legend..
@athul46 looks like it's you who don't make the difference. Loyalty is one thing and admiration is another. You can't go from being a Federer loyal fan to Djokovic and call it still loyalty as these two were rivals. Have a good day Mr.Loyalty 😂
@@samirsolai7579You just don't get it
We knew this day was coming, but its still sad. I'm sorry I never got to see you play in person.
Vamos, Rafa. Thanks for so many memories and great moments, over many years.
Enjoy your retirement 😊
There aren’t enough words in the dictionary to express how much love and adoration I have for this man. Transcended tennis, defied odds, made the impossible possible - watched Rafa for 20 years and although I knew this day was coming it doesn’t make it easier to digest. Superior tennis player and athlete, once in a lifetime player - there will be a void in tennis without him. Thank you Rafa for everything you have done and will continue to do🙏🎾🐐🏆🇪🇸

I mean, look at all the smiles he brought to people's faces. Everybody's faces. Rafa brought us pure excitement, joy and amazement all these years. And what a wonderful person he is, always fair off and on the court. Rafa, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
When life seems tough, I think of this man and how he always fights back through adversity. Rafa, it was a joy to watch you grace the courts.
Eternal love, memories, inspiration, legend. Rafa is forever
Absolute legend
Started watching tennis because of you... I have always supported you all the time.... I remember many newspapers had articles written on you in 2016 stating that you aren't able to overcome some internal demons ...then the comeback in the 2017 Australian open...I remember the semi finals against Dimitrov... You had shut down all the haters that day... I have never seen you behave in unsportsmanlike fashion ... You have always maintained grace in and out of the court... The only thing that ached me was that you support Real Madrid and I support Barcelona 😂... You will always remain my favourite... The 2008 Wimbledon final will remain as the greatest Grand slam final ever... Thank you for everything!!!!
My goat, watching his matches was magical.
And nerve racking!
@@michelez715 yes that’s true jaja, a lot of times I was suffering seeing him play but the moment he turned it around and managed to win in an improbable fashion was a thing i never saw from any other player. His matches are the greatest of all time and the drama was beyond belief.
Norrie nailed it. The attitude that he brings, he'll be successful in life in anything that he does. A coach's role model to show his player. Never once did he smash a racket in his career. The only professional men's tennis player i have witnessed who hasn't does that. Just incredible emotional control! Thank you for the memories Rafa! ❤❤
I remember back in 2004 Miami masters vs Federer, their very first meeting. Federer was so dominant everyone was calling him the goat, the tiger woods of tennis. While I’m watching this match with my dad, my dad looks over halfway through the match and tells me “this guy is scary.” Referring to nadal. I’ll never forget that. He was just unbelievable with his fast paced grueling style. Nobody comes close to his heart and determination. The goat in my opinion.
And who won that match? 😉 🐐
@@aha3885 nadal won
@@taylorpack7705 Yes, I know. In 70 minutes, 6-3, 6-3. He was 17 years old, facing peak Federer on hardcourt. Three weeks later, Rafa broke his left foot for the first time. Pound by pound, goat and isn't even close.
Thanks for this great video. All my feelings for Rafa are encapsulated in it. His achievements are truly amazing and against the odds with all his injuries, but his humility, passion and determiination transcends the numbers.
Thanks Rafa for everthing you've done for tennis on and off the court. Your wonderful legacy will endure forever ❤
Like a Nole fan, cant stop tears, what a legend, I Nole is probably goat, but Rafa for me play most beautiful tennis, and if Nole dont play tennis, for sure I will be Rafa fan, Legend, and one of the greatest players who ever touch racket... It was honor to watch you champ.
Until 2014, at the age of 28 and before the injury that kept him out for two years, Rafa had 14 grand slam tournaments to Djokovic's 7, that is, twice as many. And he dominated the direct duels by 23 to 19. At the time of splendor of both, in their twenties. He also dominated the duels against Roger. Memory is short. Then the injury ordeal and Nole inflating to add GS tournaments from 2015 onwards, with Rafa fighting with his knees. There is no denying that the Serb has managed to inflate history very well. The best Rafa is undoubtedly the best ever.
@@OriolVilalta dude you have your opinion, but who are you? Opinion is like ass, everybody has it. But its not important that now, you miss point here, Rafa reiterment, not debate who is goat, have respect for Rafa and dont make this debate now, you look stupid.
Thank you, Rafa. A truly special champion and once in a lifetime athlete. On clay especially, Nadal showed what happens when a premier athlete gets on a tennis court. Nadal had the physique and athleticism that could have sustained other sports not just soccer his other sport but even basketball as a guard, even American football maybe as a wide receiver or cornerback back. Unfortunately, carrying the weight of his powerful muscles routinely took their toll on his knees. I love how he chose to show off his “guns” going sleeveless even as a teenager.
Not, imposible winner 22 Gran slam with only physique and atheticism, not compared tennis with baseball or basket. In tennis have more talent in the shots , or bye bye.
This video just made me cry.......
When I see Rafa I think about my Mama & how we always watched him play together. My beautiful memories of them both. Thank you Rafa for all the Joy you brought to my Mama & I as we watched you make history & memories. You most definitely are the "GOAT" Forever♥️
Rafa, nobody played like you before. Nobody will play like you ever again. Your greatness is unparalleled. We love you for all the memories that you gave us through your career. Despite being the greatest, you always stayed grounded, humble, shown respect to all and shown respect to this sport. Tour and fans will miss your tennis. Best wishes for what you'll do next and we know you'll do it well and also will be busy shaping the future of tennis and also may be your country and the world. ❤️🙏🐐
A LEGEND. Humble and a gentleman. Happy Retirement Rafa 💞💞💞
I was a Fed fan, watching his domination in the 2000s, but when Nadal appeared I was stunned, like I saw a super human
Thanks RAFA for the memories. From a Federer fan 👏👏👏
My favourite to ever do it. Mr topspin, Mr fighter and Mr PASSION. No one, I repeat, no one loves the sport more than this man. Countless injury setbacks throughout his career, born deformities in his foot setting him back again and again… and yet he kept copping it, rehabbing, training and coming back and winning god knows how many times. Can guarantee he only stopped because his body literally can’t do it anymore, otherwise he’d still be working hard to get back to his best,
Thank you Rafa, absolute legend of world sports and amazing gentleman. You will be missed dearly
Thank you very much for the story of Nadal. Please write more about him. I love everything about him. The nicest and humble man. I am
happy that I can watch his matches over and over again ❤🌞
I have no words to describe how sad I am. Time flew too fast..
A Beautiful Man, a smart , fierce competitor, I will miss watching him play and compete. I wish him all of the very best moving forward . ❤ I knew that this day would arrive and never wanted it to.
Watching his retirement video this morning got me very choked up. For 20 years I have been able to watch his amazing career and it has routinely inspired me to give me all in whatever I am doing. Thank you so much Rafa. Tennis will never be the same
Será inolvidable esta Bestia del Tenis. Mucho éxito Rafa!
Whew…I’m so sad. He looked so serious but was such a humble individual. He literally exudes fervor with ever drop of sweat left on the tennis court. Truly the end of an era that I am honored to have witnessed. Gracias Rafa!
One of the greatest Houdini fighters in the game, if not the greatest. He has inspired more than two generations of the game. He is a unique beast and there won't be another one like him for thousands of years. We're lucky to have witnessed and lived through a one in a million phenomenon in Rafael Nadal. The legend will live eternally in the sporting world.

He is the modern Aquilles.
They say never meet your idol. But I always wanted a chance to meet him and just say to him that you are my biggest hero ever. Although I never had that chance. I grew up with Rafa and I still remember when he came to the scene some people were dismissive of him. They thought his playing style is not ideal for any other court other than Clay but I always believed in him and sticked with him through all the ups and downs. He is my biggest role model in any sports. I will never have someone in my life like Nadal.
He won 22 Grand Slams with so many injuries and one can only imagine how many he would have won if he remained healthy most his career.
You will always be my G.O.A.T.
Rafa you had a beautiiful career. Thank you so much for what you brought to the game. I will miss you on the tour and the excitment you brought. Enjoy your family and the next part of your life.
Crazy that Ruud was 6 when he saw Rafa win his first RG, and played him in a RG final so many years later!
I love how this video started off with Andrey. He's always admired Nadal. That iconic kit he was wearing in his childhood photo trying to imitating Nadal is everything ❤
Thank you for all the memories Rafa 👌💝. I love you so much ❤❤❤

And don't forget he never broke his racket in official matches!
I’ll never forget the first time I saw him play, thanks for everything Rafa ❤️
This one hurts! Wish you all the best, Champ
He’s the one tennis player I always love to watch. I even enjoy watching his old matches. For example, his last Australian Open championship against Medvedev is incredibly entertaining; it’s like watching a really good suspense movie. Will definitely miss him. Admire, respect, and love Rafa! And his family is pretty incredible, too.
Chills. Just chills ✨
I'm tearing up a little. From the very first time I watched him play back in 2004, he was my favorite player. It's been a privilege to watch his career. One of the absolute best to ever touch a racket, and the most unbeatable player on his preferred surface. Vamos Rafa. Much love. Here's to your career, and happy retirement.
