Finally! I've been waiting for this since you started doing these awesome playthroughs.
"Birthmark" is perhaps the most important track for me in the Deftones catalog together with "Bored".
I remember hearing Adrenaline for the first time in 95 when I was thirteen, and the owner of a guitar shop I used to hang out in put it on.
It's impossible to say this without sounding super pretentious, I know, but it truly was the first time I ever deeply experienced that feeling of finding something I had been searching for without being fully aware of it. How do you search for something that you don't know exists?
It just "clicked" from the first riff of "Bored", and I rushed off to the record store, listened to the entire album back-to-back two times, and "Birthmark" took me to a whole other place.
Allthough it's impossible to call out one Deftones album as my favorite today, Adrenaline was without a doubt the most significant for me, and the one I've listened to the most.
I still get chills when I hear this track all these years later.

Awesome story man thanks for sharing 🤘🏼🤙🏼 I first heard of them in 98 with My own summer, but soon after discovered Adrenaline and I was forever in love with Deftones lol
@@christov4120 Yeah, it's a lifelong love story for sure! Deftones have always managed to evolve and explore, while still remaining Deftones at the core, which I think is one of the main reasons why us fans love them so much. Their early work has that wide dynamic range though, where they go from whisper soft to exploding screams, which is so unique and keeps me coming back to Adrenaline and Around The Fur.

This is one of my favorite deep cuts and my #1 off Adrenaline. I’ve been a fan since the late 90s but didn’t get to see them til around 2011, and they played this like 3 songs in. My jaw was dropped.
The best song of that album.

Gosh I would've killed to have these videos back in the 90s. Closest I was able to get was 1999 State Theatre in Portland, ME. Quicksand and Deftones. Kind of hard to watch what Stef was doing though when people were moshing all around me!

Hey Stef, thanks for doing these videos, really enjoy watching them and seeing the subtleties I sometimes miss on the albums. There is a song floating around that didn't make Adrenaline titled "God's Hands" which is a really cool song. Would you ever release that song as a bside? Or do a play through even.
