Evade Extender works well with the Insect Glaive as well. It gives you extra distance when you are evading in the air, you just have to watch out if you haven't used it before and slot it in lv.3 and start a quest right away, you'll have to get used to how far just a simple evade takes you now vs. before. Great video by they way!
im currently watching everything about rise that is available and i wonder how ive not found your videos earlier. Amazing content, thank you for all of that!
Thanks a lot for your kind words, they really mean a lot! I don't play a lot of MH lately so my channel feels a little frozen while I'm busy irl. Thanks for the sub also!
I've seen a lot of people say the same. Rurican loves a minimum of evade extender 1. It's a very nice skill. I love it with Gunlance and HH the most personally
In most situations, you want Evade Extender. But if you're using Bladescale Hone, Status Trigger or Adrenaline Rush, all of which require you to dodge _through_ enemy attacks, you want Evade Window.
I fell in love with Evade Extender, specially since I play Lance and Gunlance as well Bow, it let me move ASAP from the danger and come back or pursue the monsters, it is a game changer, to me Evade Extender at least in Lvl2. In the other hand Evade Window... sux... hahaha joking aside it is a good skill but it improves something you should be quite decent at first, and I myself sux at evading with s since 4U... so... there is a lot of skill points invested on it for something that will make less worse a mechanic I am already bad at, that is the reason I rarely even consider Evade Window. Edit: And yeah, thanks a lot to Yukino, his video comparison are top notch and helped me decided how to build a lot of stuff since the release, specially about Focus and Rapid Morph for ChargeBlade
I totally agree with you. Honestly I obsess over skills being maxed, so if I go for a skill I usually try to max it. I can't always do that obviously tho haha. Evade extender is amazing. I used to dodge with s a lot in mh4u as well but after that it just seems to be getting harder and harder, since monster moves have more frames to look more sleek. I sometimes roll through them on accident, I need to learn to do it a little better, might help with clutch fights. However evade window now is better than ever with Status Trigger and Adrenaline Rush, it made it quite viable not gonna lie. I run a status SwitchAxe with these two skills. I still love evade extender, but with SwitchAxe I don't need it as much since I don't wanna move far from the monster and I also run Maximum might. I mostly use the Wire Step. Nonetheless with lances and bow, Extender is 🤌🤌🤌
Evade extender is awesome with Dual blades for me especially for monsters like Magnamalo and Zinogre that loves to run,hop and jump all over the place. I can close the gap really fast and keep up the pressure on them. Also great for getting out the way of monsters that does massive AOE attacks that can one shot you like Teostra.
Yes, this was the same for me. The dual blades can use all the dash distance they can get, it is super fun and you feel like you're in Attack on Titan haha, it's important to have some disengage tools since they got no guards also
I got lucky a few days ago and managed to get a talisman with a lvl 3 evade window on it. I just gemmed in the extra 2 levels and slotted in a maxed extender and my dual blades have never felt better. I love both of these skills and I make sure to have them in my armor.
I don't disagree to be honest, however you have pretty good i-frames with the charged slash and quite good mobility with the slides left and right. However you can definitely use it as a defensive skill to back off for sure!
Evade extend LV1 for SNS is great. It give the perfect distance to evade attacks like Seregios and doesn't put you too far so you can counter attack the monster quickly.
I play lance, gunlance and switch axe, and evade extender has become a must have on my kit ever since capcom made better hit boxes for monster attacks, and added more multi hit moves to monster attacks. On top of that, evade extender can be used both offensively and defensively, while evade window is strictly defensively since the monster will always be jumping between different players in multiplayer
Yeah that's quite right, especially in multilayer Evade Window feels useless. However it always depends, you can run both at times. Bladescale hone and status trigger/adrenaline rush made evade window more viable but still extender brings more to the table
I noticed the dash is massive with maxed out evade extender, it's just that it's hard to get used to different levels, so I try to keep my brain familiar to max extender or none at all. I will try to use 1 and 2 more often. Also true, it's great that you just slot it in a level 4 slot 👌
great video! got ur vid recommended since iv been playing and watching a lot of mhr SB. my question is what about using both in one set? i tried using both in a fire sns build with bladescale. went up against goss harag and the thing is even though i was able to dodge a lot his attacks some of his attacks hit 360 and those ones i wasnt able to dodge. in that situation i would like to know if its better take one out from the two or not. also earned subbed for the great vid!
Hi! First of all thanks a lot for the sub and your kind words, I really appreciate it. The fact is that Evade Window let's say makes you invulnerable for some time at max level. Some moves like Tigrex or Gos Harag Spins keep dealing damage throughout the entirety of the animation. So a tigrex spinning will spin for 0.5 seconds as an example, your invulnerability lasts 0.33 therefore you get hit in between the frames. The best thing is to roll away from these moves. Evade extender is your friend here. With faster moves, evade window helps a lot as you can completely roll through them, example being any projectile, like Rathalos fireball, you can eeeeaaaasily roll through it. Make sure you check out the new skils by *SPOILERS FOR NEW PATCH* . . . Gold Rathian and Lucent Nargacuga, since they give you buffs when you roll through attacks. Pair that with evade window and have fun. All in all, both skills are fun to use but physical spins like this can't be rolled towards the monster, only away from the main hitbox. I think this is the same for beams but im not sure. Don't confuse rolls with counters however. If you counter a beam or a spin with a move like hammer water strike, LS counters etc, the whole move is nullified. So if a Rajang beam is coming towards you and you counter it with a COUNTERING skill, the whole beam is nullified and you can walk through it. You can't do that with rolls though. Try to roll away if the move takes more than your 0.33 seconds of max Evade Window. Hope that helps! EDIT: Using both can be very fun, like I said it's always up to what you like! I love Evade Extender so much but I don't play it all the time, but I ALWAYS play it with Gunlance. Evade window I like a lot with Hunting Horn. Evade Window was a little weaker honestly but with the new skills it seems pretty good and on par with Evade Extender. Play what you like, always!

I wonder how many people actually know what game your music for the first few minutes is from. Definitely some fond memories of my childhood playing that one. Should I say what game it's from? Or leave it rather subtle and just say File City.
I have mentioned it somewhere in the comments since somebody had a similar response. But you're right, not too many. This soundtrack is beautiful and so was the game. Really glad more people show love for it, you make my day
Problem with evade extender is it might roll you too far. Either get used to it or adjust its level to your preference. I personally prefer evade extender lvl 2. Also, removing 1 lvl from it gives me extra gem slot for other things.
Of course, this is what is good with the skill, you can just slot in as many points as you want depending on preference and playstyle. I like 3 cause it's hard for me to get used to 2 and 1. It's very true that it rolls you far tho. Its good for how definitely and I don't dislike it at all with the SwitchAxe since the overhead slash has a huge gap closer and you can follow up with a triple slash with the sword. Very good stuff.
I know this is going to sound completely backwards, but I always consider Evaded Extender as an "Offensive" skill, even though the word "evade" would imply it's a defense/escape skill. (Which...it technically is....) The sheer fact that, you can cover about twice the distance in the same evade time? (Meaning you're travelling at double speed.) It's basically the game giving you a tool to say "Use this, to dash in, weapon fully drawn. So you can rush down your enemy". Overall, ever since the skill first came into the series, I've ALWAYS thought it's such an A+ skill to have. Both defensively and offensively.
I agree. However I've seen so many gap closing attacks or wirebug skills weapons have that make EE not such a priority. I love one slot of evade extender on all weapons tho, and I had a fun lance/gunlance build with triple EE, for offensive reasons mainly. It's very fun

I love Evade Extender, especially with the buff it got in Rise. It's amazing on my two main weapons, Gunlance and SA. That being said, it's interesting that Sunbreak has added skills like Status Trigger that interact directly with Iframes. My guess is that Evade Extender and evading out of attacks is fundamentally more accessible, so they wanted to increase the potential reward of the high skill ceiling Evade window styles. This is especially likely since Rise's weapons having counters would have all but eliminated the need for Evade window without the corresponding new skills that directly use it. I'm very satisfied with this type of design as it gives the player a choice of interesting and equally effective styles with different pros and cons. Many Monster Hunter skills do a great job at this, which is something that many games lack. Too many games have upgrade trees that just add straight numbers.
To be fair I'm happy myself. I love counters but I wanted to have the option to build different things too and the new abuse skills are perfect. Anybody can play anything at the moment and it would make sense. Game is less and less boring 😁
