Great video Samuel. It clearly took a lot of time and effort. I see you're in my hometown London so some great photo opportunities but watch yourself and your cameras as the street thieves there are getting bolder.

Dude you are so emotional and passionate about the cams and your opinions about them it is just incredible :D Your videos made me: 1. Skip the idea of buying the gimbal DJ OM5 for my Iphone 12 Pro Max (I was so close to buying, literally some minutes, before I accidentally stepped into ''Watch it before you buy it''. And from now, I have made my mind to buy this item :) Though, not to mentioned that videos makes because you can not hide how you literally hate the product :D Just ordered, Pocket2 (hopefully this cam is still up-to-date for 2022, considering that Iphones are going better and better and we shall see what Iphone 14 will bring) - will pick up today and I will see, whether it was the right or ''emotiona'' choice, as I also like to shoot my videos on Iphone 12 Pro Max - but anyways, this is pretty useful and entertaining, appreciated!
Thanks bro. You might find really interesting one of my next videos, out in the next few days. Is the pocket 2 still relevant in 2022. The short answer is YES!! I think you will enjoy it! What I have found is that for static tripod shots, using a phone with filmic pro works really well, but anything with movement, pocket 2 all the way. This doesn’t mean the pocket 2 is not awesome doing shots on tripod, but you might find panning and titling to be more responsive on a tripod with a phone, so you don’t need to wait for the gimbal to travel to where the camera position is supposed to end at. But trust me, you won’t be disappointed!!
Amazing vlog 😉 Considering some of the pushback lately vs the new smartphone$$$, these points are very well taken. Still loving my P2 for all these reasons. Keep the excellent content coming.

You can do tilt-lock and it will keep the horizon locked for you or follow and you will get the horizon changing and might increase the jib/crane effect. Essentially, trial and error and see what works for what you are trying to shoot. I think tilt-lock will be the best for most instances, but again, it all depends on what you need to film. I hope you found this helpful!

Hi! I use a relatively cheap ball-mount, You can go lighter or heaver than this amzn.to/39pK7wN it is up to you and what level of features and strength you need. I hope this helps!
Hi, I did indeed stumbled upon you. I've a couple of question though, I hope you can help me out. Thank you in advanced. 🙏 1) How long does it usually takes to charge the pocket 2? Mine seems like it's taking forever, like hours, is that even normal? 2) What or how do you connect the stick to the phone, and the pocket 2 at the end of the stick? - as I know, it doesn't have Wi-Fi connection nor Bluetooth in the pocket 2, I see you're amazing at it, and am wondering if I can maybe create something as such. BUT I am vey new to this pocket 2. Much thanks.
Thanks for taking the time to writing your comment and questions. I'll do my best to answer. 1- My pocket 2 charges relatively quickly. Within 1 hour or so is fully charged. I have never timed it but I know I can rely on leaving it for an hour or hour and a half and it will be fully charged. I use the USB-USBC single cable. I use the splitter cable that came with it, it takes much longer. 2- I have the creator's combo and in that set of accessories you get the do-it-all-handle which allows you to wirelessly access and control the pocket 2. It is amazing and it means no need for cables. However, if you want the set up, I'll make it easy for you and give you the items here DSLR Tripod/ Monopod - amzn.to/3bZRqhu. If you have a monopod yourself you can just roll with it. I give you the tripod/monopod as it is very fuctional to have 2-in-1. 2x Super Clamp with Mini Ball Head - amzn.to/3qnqbRi 2x iPhone 10ft extension cable- if you don't have the creator's combo and do-it-all-handle amzn.to/3caBaZi. @@SamuelSotiega Wow!! Thank you so much for your detailed respond. You are probably the only who cares to do that, and for that I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will check out those links you gave, and see which one I need first. Once again, thanks Sam Sotiego. Have a lovely day ☕
I know and thanks for mentioning it! but unfortunately I don’t own a drone yet and I would want to record some B-Roll with that setup on before I mention it. I will save that idea for a follow up video on this subject. The more ideas I get from people like you the better!! Thanks for chipping in!
@@SamuelSotiega I have already tried it and the results are outstanding. You need to keep in mind that the connection between the Pocket and a drone body shouldn't be stiff. Instead, I mount it with strong sticky silicone pads and a sponge in between due to vibrations. Keep up the excellent work.
Could the pocket 2 really replace a dslr or mirrorless camera as the best option for a travelling camera? I like to travel light if I can but often my camera equipment takes up half of my luggage allowance, if not more. What do you think? Congrats on going over 1K subs! Love your channel, I am sure you'll do well if you keep it up.
I am actually doing my next video about this very subject. I would say, totally yes. If you don’t mind waiting a couple of days, you’ll get a more extensive explanation as to why I think this way when you watch the video.
Thanks for the comment. It’s a small electric micro dolly with a little ball-head mount to mount the pocket 2. I use it in so many situations. Definitely worth the money you pay for it. Links below, i hope it helps! Electric Micro Dolly - amzn.to/3olHxxO 1/4" Camera Hot Shoe Mount for Dolly amzn.to/3ercv5N
Well, most of the time spent "rendering" is actually the "magic mask" tracking and animating the mask, so I can't see how you can avoid that. It is simply the way it does the "magic". Unless I am missing something here and if so, please point me in the right direction!
@@GoapprStudios Touché on that. But "render in place" is for playback on the timeline only. The magic mask process is so resources/ processor intensive that I just do it at the very, very end, after doing the grade, the sound mixing, etc. I just don't have the patience to do the waiting for the magic mask process to take place and then do further waiting for rendering. I literally go from magic mask to render out. If you have 15-20 or more clips with magic masks effect it can take you quite some time to get things right and get them all done.... But, if you have one or two clips in a timeline and want to play them along with the rest of the footage, I totally agree with you. Thanks for sharing this, someone reading this conversation will appreciate your suggestion for sure!! Cheers!
@@SamuelSotiega correct and in your video you talked about the slow play after you did your edit so instead of turning off your edit to get fast playback was why I mentioned it.
@@SamuelSotiega Yes, I'm already subscribed. I was amazed about the "shoot cinematic with cheap camera" video, so I think I was subscribed about 3 months ago (my comment there also appears as 3 months ago). I thought I had subscribed. :( but anyway i bought the pocket 2 a while back but have not really used it that much which is bad seeing as I bought the combo pack. I have been trying to use it more lately and watching your videos have helped a lot!! Thanks!! What do you think about the normal collor profile? There have been some complaints and i have noticed it does not handle human skin tones very well.
Don’t use the normal color, please. Use d-cine and then in your edit suite, you can simply do a basic grade bumping up a little contrast and saturation and will look a million times better. The image looks flatter and desaturated on camera, which is ideal so you get control over it in the grade. The normal color space baked in the image high contrast and saturation that most of the times is too high.
@@SamuelSotiega Ok I will give it a try. Although i have been editing for a while I never got into the whole post color grading part of it. I guess i need to do it because the normal profile just looks bad.

DJI is a big shame. What is not on the box! If you want to use it pro you MUST create an account and connect it to your phone. According to the box with blue. But if you want to, you MUST also connect your WiFi to DJI's headquarters. So I thought lol...I turn OFF my wifi on my phone and then adjust the DJI...can I connect what it wants...yes, not so... Then DJI just manually turns my wifi back on . Because DJI believes that as a seller of a device they have the right to have access to your location data, your sound recordings and your film recordings. Connecting an ordinary display to it is not allowed by DJI. The new digital mafia is in every box these days.
Personally, I think you are making too much of a deal of something that doesn't deserve it. The gimbal needs to access certain areas of your phone to perform, just the same as you surrender your entire privacy controls when you sign up to any social media platform. I don't think this is anything to be worried about...
@@SamuelSotiega No, you are wrong! Only blue tooth is needed for it to function. DJI wants to own you and your data and your content. That's why you have to turn on wifi. And they don't accept a normal screen either. .Understand. For me it is a problem. A device and manufacturer do not control who I share my privacy, my contact details, my behavior and my content with. Briefly. I own the DJI, DJI does not own me
@@SamuelSotiegaWell I'm looking forward for it! One question, is the gift going to only 1 or everybody that gave the correct answer? Thanks for the useful video. Man, I really love the Osmo Pocket. I own the first version of Osmo Pocket, and the crane shots are my favorite. Tried it in various locations like Pamukkale (Turkey) and results were astonishing.
@@MuhlisErtugrul I am so pleased to hear you’re getting great results. There is only one set of filters so if more than 1 person gets it right I will put the names in a bowl and pick up the winner. That way it is fair. But I intend to do a give away in every video from now on so if you watch the videos, there will be plenty if chances of getting some good “freebies”! I love these pocket cameras, they are such an incredible value for money. I used to travel with dslr cameras and 2-3 lenses and everything that goes with it. Now, the pocket 2 and some accessories is all I take… Stay in touch!!
You really need to pay attention to the pedestrians when you are video recording. You didn't care about the pedestrians and vehicles at all in several of your videos.
thanks for your comment! I'd be interested to hear about what your point of view is. However, I'd like to point out that I am well aware of the rules for filming in public places and at no time I am invading anyone's privacy. I am not filming anyone featuring prominently in any of my videos, they just happen to be there in the background, (very important to say, in a public place or road) and you can't recognise them. There are indeed protections for people if they feature prominently in a video, which it is not the case here, but also protections for content creators in terms of what they can and can't do, and I follow them to the letter. But, I'd be keen to hear what you have to say and this could be a very lengthy ping pong conversation. Could you send me a private message?

How did you attach the pocket camera to the Neewer roller? Did you have to buy extra attachments?

Hi, I did indeed stumbled upon you. I've a couple of question though, I hope you can help me out.
Thank you in advanced. 🙏
1) How long does it usually takes to charge the pocket 2?
However, if you want the set up, I'll make it easy for you and give you the items here
DSLR Tripod/ Monopod - amzn.to/3bZRqhu. If you have a monopod yourself you can just roll with it. I give you the tripod/monopod as it is very fuctional to have 2-in-1.
2x Super Clamp with Mini Ball Head - amzn.to/3qnqbRi
2x iPhone 10ft extension cable- if you don't have the creator's combo and do-it-all-handle amzn.to/3caBaZi. If you have the doitallhandle, no need for cables as you can link wirelessly.
Phone Mount Holder to mount the phone to monopod - amzn.to/3BLxBVz.
I hope you found this helpful. Let me know otherwise! I am here to help (or at least try!)

@@SamuelSotiega Thank you so much! I have a lot to learn, haha

One thing you did not mention is that you can mount the Pocket on the drone. That's the fantastic feature, low weight.
Any idea about pocket 3
No idea. I just hope when it does come out that it is not a disappointment, they need to do something special!!!
@@SamuelSotiega ok thank u for reply

3:20 what is that little dolly thing?
Thanks for the comment. It’s a small electric micro dolly with a little ball-head mount to mount the pocket 2. I use it in so many situations. Definitely worth the money you pay for it. Links below, i hope it helps!

Have you tried render in place so the clip is on your desktop and the time line in Davinci Resolve Studio work much faster. 😀
Well, most of the time spent "rendering" is actually the "magic mask" tracking and animating the mask, so I can't see how you can avoid that. It is simply the way it does the "magic". Unless I am missing something here and if so, please point me in the right direction!
@@SamuelSotiega have you tried the render in place for clips that eat up resources when working on a large project in studio
Great video
Thanks! Glad you liked it.
Happy 1k subscribers!! ❤
Thanks bro. Did you subscribe yourself?
@@SamuelSotiega Yes, I'm already subscribed. I was amazed about the "shoot cinematic with cheap camera" video, so I think I was subscribed about 3 months ago (my comment there also appears as 3 months ago). As I remember, you had 200-300 subscribers when I subbed. I just realized you have reached 1k.
@@MuhlisErtugrul you are old timer then!!! Thanks a lot dude. Slowly but surely. I’ll keep creating content and hopefully one day I can make a living out of this. That’d be nice to be honest. This is a marathon, not sprint. But I really appreciate your support!
I guess i need to do it because the normal profile just looks bad.
do you just use AWB or do set that also?

How can you use the Pocket 2 all day when in 4k the battery last about an hour ?
I always carry 2 power banks with me. One is a traditional one so when I move around or in between locations, I plug the pocket 2 and it is recharging while not being used. I also use a smartphone mount that is also a power bank. I use this while filming so I keep the power bank charged. Here is a link if interested Smartphone Holder and Powerbank - amzn.to/35XuITp

And I'm amazed lol, thanks a lot
You talk to much!
I know! I am so full of myself, aren’t I???
