There are 2 different teams working on each update.The Ryze update was just finished sooner than the Yorick update,but that doesn't mean they didn't work on Yorick or that they didn't work on Yorick just as much.Yorick is just an update of a bigger scale than the Ryze update.

Well.. at least Riot acknowledges that the last rework put Rize in a situation where no one wanted to play him. It was more like a nerf so people will stop spamming his abilities but in the end it only slowed him down in early game but made him really hard to kill later into the game. Let's see how this one will play out.

The Shield from charging the rune was lost, W was changed so that it slows if it's not Flux-boosted, E does less damage and has a weaker spread, Q was changed to 5 Skill points to put him on a normal skill loadout, the Flux Multiplier for Q was put onto Ult so you were forced to take it even if you were never gonna use it, and there's no real incentive to do anything other than QEQEQEQEQEQEQEQEQEQEQEQEQEQEQEQEQEQEQEQEQEQEQEQEQEQEQEQEQEQEQEQ

I did not mean it that way, when a champion has the potential to screw up its own player's team, and it gets to be mentioned in a champion spotlight, like when you know beforehand that some ppl will use it negatively, like Tham Kench feeding other ppl to the enemy team.

That is my huge problem with league. Its made for kids. In Dota you have tons of CC spells that you can use on your allies. You can even kill your allies if you need to. This leads to whole new strategic possibilities. Like denying your teammates so the enemy doesnt get gold for killing them.

We can not talk about adults and kids, when both communities hate each other so much, i like DotA because is very complex, but i also like League because with very little time, understand items, champions, and stats while having a lot less to be looking at.

Definitely not the only one. But it was to be expected, after all there can't be a spotlight without more or less fitting puns. And as there are no cakes in ryzes kit we can conclude that while Portal(s) exist, the cake stays a lie.

The ultimate should have an arrow, so your teammates can tell the direction the portal will take them, so it's easier to make a quick decision if it is a defensive or offensive ult.

Only in higher divisions, in Gold and less nobody will ever join you in your ulti or follow your engage because they think you suck and go for suicide and well, you suck and will probably die. Even if you land the tastiest ult, half of them will probably want to finish their minion wave under turret first so you obviously die and then get flamed to the ground.
or counter him with bard ult. if timed well it can pretty much screw his team if bard's team has some wombo combo

1. Use your ult into the enemy team
2. Leave your ult AOE
3. While your allies selflessly sacrifice themselves for you, walk away
4. Get eaten by your own Tahm support, forcing you to die with the rest of them.

It's the next rework on the list. And BTW, the team that reworked Ryze is completely different from the one that is reworking Yorick, so this didn't have any impact at all for Yorick.

Galio is a counterpick, if you would buff him so he can counter Ap's + be overall strong than he would be way too strong.

He will undoubtedly be fun now though.
He wasnt THAT broken tho.. But he definitely is broken now with his combos.
He is way better designed now. He can not lock you down with his W 2 times in a row in 4 sec so you actually have a chance of getting away. His combos overall are not that broken anymore and it actually takes more skill to play him good now. His ult is good but it requires teamwork. I think this rework was great you can not complain about that, since it is way better then the older design of ryze that WAS actually broken. He was able to 100 to 0 you with only Tear at lvl 3 by perma CC you with ridiculous dmg. Stay behind the minions in lane and you are pretty much automatically safe since he cant Q through the creeps.
MrPastige Either we didnt see the same spotlight or you didnt watch the entire thing. His Q never went through minions, so I dont understand the relevance of that statement and now his skills apply a mark that can be spread so you are not safe behind the minion wave either... I also didnt start playing until the end of S3 but from what i've heard, everyone was broken AF before they began to balance champs around the end of season two-ish.
He was able to cast his q as point and click. Actually all his skills were point and click way back then. So you couldn't be safe behind minions. I think he is now balanced. Just because you need to play smarter to defeat him doesn't make him any broken.

Here after season 9 rework
They should make special markers for things like portals or AOE damaging spells. Like purple ring around all things that teleport. That way, some newer players or players who don't know what every single champion does can at least recognize what other champions are trying to do.
These spotlights are getting better at explaining the combos and show it's important the whole team knows how to react on Ryze's ultimate.

Ashe and Tristana reworks + some of the marksmen were pretty good. Juggernauts were all broken. Mages are all op. Sona rework was pretty good, but that was a while ago.

am i correct and saying that a opponent can just simply walk into a crowd of minions and Ryze's combo is so easily ruined? (since his combo requires Q which stops at first minion).. and his ult is cool for LCS or something.. but.. in solo Que.. the ult will be 99% useful for yourself and 1.2% of the time someone might hop in and somehow
Cryptfire this is true, though it's funny when you have an assassin as your enemy and you can dodge their skill shot, I just annoyed them with my e, got them in GG.
Also the ultra thing for solo queue is very true
Not really since ryze is designed for wave clear. Remember he can q e q to kill a minion, spread flux to everyone near including u, and q again to deal damage
