I been wondering for a while. I had the arm disconected. I thought it was just to reduce emissions but I'm amazed how much power I was missing now that actually works. Mpg went 6 miles up as well. Pretty cool video. Thank you.
0:24 I've been getting everyone's favorite lean fuel error code on my chevy Sonic while cold. I hooked a smoke tester to the air intake and that rectangular hole between the throttle body and the runners is just blasting smoke out. I really want to know if this is typical behavior or an actual issue. It seems that the people who's had this just dumped some RTV/Silicone in there to seal it up, but I'd rather not jump to conclusions without knowing what that port is for.
Yes. I did learn something new. Thank you. According to my scanner, I have 2 runner valves (IMRC valves) stuck closed. At least now I have some idea of what that means. 1997 F150 4.2 6 cylinder, so I'm assuming I'm pretty much just running on 4? It will drive maybe a mile or 2 (grocery store, short errands) before it starts 'stumbling' like it's not getting enough gas. This has been going on for several months now. Sometimes I make it back home, but sometimes on the way back ol' girl starts stumbling & shuddering & then we 'limp' home at about 20 miles an hour. :) Am I further damaging my engine? Again, thanks so much for the info. I'm going to try spraying Sea Foam into the intake throat...as per their instructions. That, & say a prayer 🙏 :)
Thanks for doing this great video. I have a 2004 Honda CR-V that when scanned I get a Po 0661! Car runs fine to me but Engine light is on so can't pass smog.. What do I fix? Or how do I find out what to fix? I am a 70yr ( old school )mechanic. My 85 Toyota PU is easy to fix. All the electric sensors are new to me. No wonder folks are going Electric....None of this to fix. Anyway please help an old Viet Veteran Helicopter mechanic!
I’m trying to figure out how to remove the small arm on the shutter..? Would you happen to know how to remove it? is it like a small washer lock in the center ?

That's Kool hope my engine has more power too 😁

Any idea if the intake is supposed to be sucking in air within that rectangle opening near the PVC

I’ve seen a clip of removing the lock washer. A vendor who sells brass joints to replace the plastic one removed the clip
