Ha! That FT 15" DD coil was like the Telstar Satellite dish when it first came out! SOME LUMP indeed! A handy ,slower sweeper, lower sensitivity setting, great for ground coverage on cleaner dirt coil, now some weight's been lost. Shame FT didn't bring it to the table then, as now., though better later than never!.. T2 and 75 are great MDs, I think. Class is ageless. Another class video John, thank you.
Yeah I figure it is a bit late to the party for most...only the die hard guys will buy one. I am happy to have it though - another tool in the shed for a great detector. It was lighter than I thought it would be first opening the box. ATB my friend.
the T2 really locks on. Congrats On your Silver Dime.. If I was not so invested in my other detectors this one I should have bought like 5 detectors ago..Good to see you out Detecting and having a good time.
Hunter I'm a little disappointed . After all the caption does read 15 inches of fun. LOL Just had to bring that up. Great little video nice you found silver that's awesome . Hope your New year is going well for you so far . Take care Hunter!
nice show...baby fox is called a pup....I have been eyeballing that coil, but I have four coils and seldom use the 13 inch....very limited places here where anything bigger than than the stock 11 is much of a benefit with all the targets that get under a swing at one time.
New subscriber and new detectors I have good things about your RUclips channel and you yourself. Nice finds I could with the dumbbell that was cute. Congratulations on the Rosie in a hunted out park.
Happy to hear that Dawn, thank you for checking out the channel and subbing. I live stream every Tuesday at 5PM PST if you want to stop by and talk shop!
I like to see your settings when you use the t2 especially on hunts like this. Sounds like you were running in three-tone mode but what were you running for sensitivity and discrimination?
I fiddle so much during hunts it's hard to say. With T2 I usually run 85 sens and 51 disc if in three tone mode since it high tones nickels. If running single tone or VCO I run disc as high as 80 and cherry pick copper and silver only once I tire of tabs and caps.
Are they still advertising that exact unit that it does have a backlit display or did they finally remove that recently after years of advertising that it does? Other than the fact it did not have the backlit display this is one of my favorite machines to use. Nice showing and video.
I know the F75 LTD has a backlight, but no sales sheet I have ever seen said the T2 does. Only been detecting for 6 years...so could have been before my time.
@@thehuntergt Correct the fisher f75 does but I can show you screen shots directly from their site and kellyco which Show in the specifications that it does have a backlit display, I have only been detecting for 30 years on and off so I could be wrong also. they were advertising it still in two thousand nineteen
@@diggindiggenit6540 Oh I believe you...there are pics of the Land Ranger Pro with the backlight option. Never made it to market that way though. I have personally never seen the T2 advertised that way, but I don;t doubt it. Lazy website devs that need to update their pages basically.
@@thehuntergt The jury rig fix was a dollar store head lamp attached to the handle and shinning on the display, total jury rig but it worked so so when it got dark, also be very careful with the screen display, I bumped mine with a hand trowel (not to hard just a tap by accident) and now there is permanent dead pixels that are black, about twenty of them but I still use the unit as it did not effect the actual functional ability of the machine. Also what I really like about the machine is the separation, ergonomics (on my top five list for that) how long the unit is functional with batteries (I can go 4 hunts all day no problem) great depth, just a good machine all around. Now if they can come up with a similar machine that has a backlit display, waterproof, same warranty, Upgradeable software , that would be great. If you ever get a chance to buy some Kentli AA PH5 batteries those are the bomb, I got mine overseas.
@@diggindiggenit6540 I can't dark hunt around here since most of my parks are in the hood, or close to it. I stabbed my NoktaMakro Gold Kruzer on the first day I had it, right before the review video. Punctured the screen as well...but no pixel damage. Sucks though because it is a waterproof detector...now with a hole in the screen. I was in disbelief when I did it. I might have to try some of those someday...just got 8XAA Tenergy that I use in it a while back. So far so good.
What's the better option? I hunt in the Midwest for coins relics and jewelry and I have a Garrett at pro with multiple coils big and small, I'm looking to up my game for under 1000$ just wondering if either fisher or technetics would be an upgrade or a lateral move?
@@wyattx3770 Other than waterproofing...T2 and F75 will spank an AT Pro in iron - depth - recovery speed - tone audio blending. Night and day in my opinion. I'm not a Garrett hater by any means, I am a dealer for them. But there is no doubt about it, the top-end Fisher/Tek machines are better in testing. As far as what is better...the F75 is generally regarded as better than the T2. It has basically every option the T2 does...plus a ton more. For that you listed, I would get the F75. I really want to get one of these someday. What is the best model to get out of curiosity? The one with boost mode and their digital shield? Also t2 vs the patriot? I would guess the t2 is a tad more robust with less if the push buttons?
What detector is your favorite? I own a T2 LTD BLK and i think to change to the Equinox 800 but i can not test it before so i have to buy it blind. Is the Multi Frequ really sooo good and are the houndreds of setup possibilities helpfull? Should i change or stay?
I cannot answer if you should change or stay - that will be up to you. Anfibio Multi and T2-LTD are my two favorites - a tie. I also own the Nox 800. While the Nox is not on my top 5 list for personal favorites, it is the best machine I currently own. It dominates in heavy minerals like salt beaches and iron-rich clay. If your soil is not harsh and you are digging 10-12 inch targets with the T2 - I do not think the Nox will be mana from heaven or anything like that. MF is the real deal however, and in certain conditions, it shines. In other areas, there will be almost zero benefits from it. Nox 800 is the best "all-around" metal detector on the market in my opinion - but not the best at any one thing.
It’s all about swing overlap........if you don’t have this you are not covering the ground correctly............we have all seen this, people walking at normal pace and missing heaps of ground as they swing back and forth. Even with a big coil l have seen heaps of people swinging big arcs and missing covering ground. Slow down guys and take your time..........cover it all.
Totally agree Gavin; Bang on the nail man, yet oddly, FT advise a faster sweep speed with their 7x11 DD on the F75, however, working any 5x10 in nails, or 11" DD plus size coil it pays to 'not rush things', more so with a coil of this size, also drop the sensitivity/gain to 1/2 or under, it massively aids discrimination tones ( and vdi jumping ), by not over-powering it; it doesn't need it, same for most coils in fact. I used to fall into the maximum sensitivity/gain b s trap, but " No the now". It wrecks disc, and any in ground added depth is negligible. Slow down, and drop the ####in gain to half; less, on a 15"er, and get the overlap right: in my op mind. each t' their own.
Being 6ft 1in on a good day...I try to walk like a Japanese monk - as slow as possible. This larger does allow the pace to pick up slightly, which is a benefit for sure. Plenty of 1-2-3 inch stuff here in California. Only way to miss it is to miss it. Depth is last on my list.
