- In this car vlog we install JDM Aftermarket wheels on the 2018 BRZ. The wheels are Rays Gram Lights 57DR in Mag Blue 18x9.5 +38, and the tires are Falken Azenis FK510 in 245/35/18. Fitment is perfect for flush setups on a lowered BRZ, FRS, or GT86!

I'm debating between the 17×9 +38 or the set up you have, 18×9.5 +40 for the same reason of the concave look and in my opinion, just overall better looking.
I saw in your newer posts that you're car is a little lowered now to avoid that huge gap and I'm considering on getting the same set up. Do you get any rubbing at all when you drive daily? Any spacers needed or rolling required? Ever had any issues with potholes or turns? A little scared to purchase the 18' wheels and tires if it requires more work when I could get the 17 with coilovers and have less issues. I'm more of a function over form and just want to make sure everything runs smoothly with little maintenance for wheels and such. I'd appreciate you're honest feedback, thanks!
Hey so 18x9.5 +40/+38 shouldn't rub at all if you're on a coilover setup, I would advise 255/35/18 tires. I don't rub at all at full lock, or over any bumps, and I'm lowered like 2" or more (pretty low lol). No spacers needed on that fitment. I'm not really a fan of 17s on these cars, but I would run 17x9 +35 if I absolutely HAD to run 17s. If you like the 18s look and are going to get coilovers anyways, I'd say go for it. The only dudes I know running 17s are NA street class track/autoX guys to fit the restrictions. Anyways, I decided to wait a bit on the wheels and suspension but I will certainly DM you about this when I actually decide to get an instagram and wheels in the next two months or so lol. How far do they poke out from inside the fender?
Not much, even on stock suspension. Once it's lowered this weekend it'll sit flush exactly, and I'm probably going to run 1.5-2 degrees of camber for the extra turn-in potential. Way too much wheel gap on stock height though lollll (can fit like 4 fingers in there)
Did you need to add spacers because of the calipers?
nope, that fitment clears the brembos
Hey man I also have a brz with Performance package and I am trying to get my first set of wheels and I really like the te37sl black edition 3 but I think it only comes in 18x9.5 +43. Do you think this will fit the vehicle too?
should be fine, at worst you'd have to run a 5mm spacer to clear the spring perch on stock suspension. with coilovers it should be a non issue.

None with 245/35s, 255/35s will rub. But that height looked ridiculous so I'm on coilovers now

Yeah fits easy, way more room than the stock wheels 18x9.5 and 17x9 gram lights both fit
Will adding rims void your warranty?
no, but obviously if something happened to the aftermarket wheels the dealer isn't going to cover repairs like the would on an OEM one
