And on the side i was thinking about buying a high spec Macbook Pro and i will just pay it mothly for 3 years and think about it as if i am paying for a tuition fee for a school. I was thinking about learning programming, graphic design, music, japanese(because i live in japan)etc. Is this a good idea?Any advice for me and what spec should i get?
I find the 16-inch way too big. I used to think bigger is better, but once I got the 14-inch Pro I fell in love with it! Maybe for programmers and content creators, the 16-inch is better.
Coming from windows 16 inch laptops, I find it to be actually smaller and lighter than the laptop I carry around for work on a day to day basis. 😂
It's the same size as the previous 15-inch MacBook (2020 and earlier), with no difference in size.
I’m going to wait for the M3 Max OLED panels
OLED is mistake. Maybe apple do it right.
I’m waiting for the M6 MacBooks
Why is OLED a mistake?
@@matth254 Poor HDR, dark screen, high power consumption, white looks blue from different viewing angles, flickering invisible, but some people feel a headache. Burning static elements. Very glossy screen where black looks like grey.
Micro LED is a better choice.
I’m going to wait for the M5
Love the show, thank you, helps me make the right choices and saves me tons of money
Add an Ipad and sidecar app to use it as mobile second screen while editing
I've pretty much given up an apple making a 16 inch Macbook air so I just ordered a base model m2 16 inch Macbook pro to replace my m1 air. 13 and even 14 is too small.
I still wish they bring back the 17 inch though.
The MBP16 is hands down the best computer I have ever used in my life! Love love love! Sound, display, battery life, etc. I would like the size of the smaller MBP or the 14P for portability, but I dont want to sacrifice the full performance, battery and display of the 16. Thanks for your video! Keep up the good work!
I have a 2019 16" and an M1 14". Never use the 16" anymore
Great vid, real question is where did you get your hoody? Thanks.
At 8:35 the 12/19 core isn't M2 Max. M2 Max has 12/30 cores and 12/38 cores.
Did you refer to the 19 or 30 cores?
For me 16" is the perfect size, better thermals, performance, speakers, battery life, runs silent and the screen is amazing, but I get, to be fair even the M1 MacBook Air is awesome.
Perfect size?! For UX/UI and front-end website developers working from home, yes.
For people traveling and doing similar work, the 14-inch laptop is better.
@@akin242002 The 16-inch is just as portable with longer battery life, which is important if you are out and about.
@@zoltanzana I strongly disagree on the equally portability part. It is not as easy to fit into backpacks as the 14-inch, it isn't as easy to put on an airplane trey table, and is 1lbs heavier.
@@akin242002 There is absolutely no issue with the portability factor, whether it's on the plane or when I carry it in my backpack. Only if you're a small child or have a physical disability, half a kilo might pose a problem
@@zoltanzana I don't think you read my statement clearly. I said they are not equally portable. I did not mention that it wasn't portable at all. A laptop that is smaller and lighter will naturally be more portable than a heavier and wider laptop.
Typing on the 15 inch air or 16 inch pro is horrible. Keyboard is set so far back, you've got to rest your wrists on the trackpad, or just next to it. It's awful.
Love the 13 inch air size best, but had a go on a 14 inch, and that's comfortable too.
Would never buy the 15 inch or 16 inch models.
Planning to get Apple MacBook pro 16 m2.
Thanks for your enlightenment.
I am still using a 15inch 2015mbp. Mainly used for still photography (tethering on location)
I think 16inch is a better choice for my situation.
. I owned 11inch powerbook(smaller screen experience)
15inch MBP almost same size and same weight as 16inch.
I am in Malaysia and M2pro series is NOT reach our shore
yet. Also M1pro 16 is having a discount...
Less is more. It takes a lifetime for some people to learn this. But, to each their own - spend your money as you see fit. It’s the M2 MacBook Air for me - the MacBook Pro is extreme overkill for my needs. The size and weight of the Pro model is more of a burden than a benefit.
Watching Greg"s video, and hearing him explain his own usage, HE could easily have made do with the new M2 Air, as well, perhaps specced up a bit, like mine. Having said that, some of us just like nice gadgets. Since getting the M1 Pro, I have been using it a lot, so will give hubby my M2 Air, or at least share it with him....😝
Side by side, the 14” is too whimpy! 😅
Once you’ve had 16”, you can’t go back… 😏
…..But seriously the bigger display, better speakers, bigger track pad, better cooling and especially the battery life 🔋 make it a no-brainer. …….and get the M1 folks 😅 Save the money 💰
That intro was Gold!
You are One of my fave techs always nice! To hear your point of you!
Still waiting for apple 🍎 to add cellular chip in laptop. I use my iPad Pro 1st gen still because of cellular connectivity I know they probably won’t because iPad sales would tank
I think it’s really dishonest how you guys buy these things with a complete intention of returning them. If 10,000 RUclipsrs, do like you, it affects us all. I find it very unethical. You’ve never had attention to keep this, it’s performed and did fantastic for you, but you’re returning it anyway.
@ 4:08… Me laughing in my 34” 1000R curved ultra-wide 2k monitor 😂😂😂
Hear me out on this as I swapped twice! On release day I got a 14” like I already had. The next day I said you know what let me try the 16” and I was shocked how big it felt and weight so much I went back to the 14”’but wait…. Today I once again ordered a 16” max 38 model again 😂 because my god nothing is better. It runs so much cooler, longer battery, the screen, speakers and what I feel like is the ugliest form factor on the block.
Even though I hate how it feels to carry, hate how it looks, hate how it feels it still does everything I need it to do and does it better, faster, MUCH quieter fans this year (the 14” spins up to 6800rpm now after blasting to 108c when the 16” for me hasent gone past 90 and still quiet fans). It’s all I need to see to know the bad stuff is worth it this time around. I might reconsider when m3 comes but until then this is the best of the best and for the money that’s what I want not a hot running watered down chip just because it’s more pleasing to carry. Note I don’t travel via airplane often but if I did I would simply take an iPad or an Air if you have one and keep the 16” on deck in your bag for when your off the flight then use the air or iPad as a sidecar display at your destination for multiple display workstation. Can’t lose
Spec'ed out 14 or 16" is over 4k$ Too expensive
The perfect solution is to buy both the 14 and 16' -- 🙂
really, are you confused 😯 ???
M1/M2 is okay but i do miss bootcamp
16” M2 MacBook Pro 1TB 16G 12CPU 19GPU space grey on Apple employee discount = $2800. Can’t go wrong
Is the screen prone to scratches?
I bet this blows away the base model 2019 Mac Pro?
The late 2021 M1 Pro blew everything out of the water, which is why it"s still highly recommended, by most reviewers.
I hear you and luke and all of you talking about portability, I don't see myself going out with such a computer which I hope to buy someday.. I'm just bored of having 13-inch laptop for decades, the 17 inches stopped in 2011 and is not upgradeable and now with a real Mac, I want to get one I good carry from home to the office. (but would mostly stay at home to have a second working computer for graphic design etc..
I think the upcoming 15” MBA will be perfect
what kinda backpack is that white one?
The heat sync on the m2 pro machines aren’t as good as the M1 Pro machines. They are cutting cost there to keep the price the same. Shame
That fact was one I considered when choosing a brand new 14 inch M1 Pro, just a few weeks ago. The $500.00 savings was nice, too.
It’s not the size, but how you use it. But if you have loosely high memory requirements, then bigger is definitely better so you can get the 96GB.
I'm getting a 16 because of Battery Speakers cooling and screen size. Saving up for taxes ram and SSD upgrades before I buy one.
base model is good enough and i just bought from new jersey this weeknd there was a tax holiday
I can’t get over that notch!
how did you run resident evil village on Mac? my steam account says it's only supported on windows?
ok, I see. seems that you need to purchase it from App Store. to bad that there is no ability to use it from my steam
how high is cooler noise ?
You almost certainly have some recent common ancestor with Harrison Ford.
It’s heresy in this group… get a cheap iPad if you want portability for surfing or emails at the coffee shop. Then combine it with sidecar beside your 16” MBP @ home.
16’’=more screen estate on the go but at a pricd
I would prefer a max out 14" M2 Max, I6" is just too heavy to carry around and the performance between 14 and 16 is limited.
Maybe too heavy if you are a child
@@zoltanzanait is heavy. And bulky compared to almost any other portable on the market. Imagine having it in a backpack on your commute on public transport. It's a fantastic machine. But it's a portable desktop replacement. No one works with this on their lap either, unless they're wrestler
@@patrickhussain7163 I can easily work on it on my lap, it is not only light but also comfortable. More productive work can be done because of the screen size.
Tech RUclipsrs stop it a computer is thousands of dollars a good computer should last 5 years preferably 7. You do not need an upgrade every year or two. The devices are appliances and end up in landfill stop wasting precious resources mined out of the earth.
Whats the max ram on this pro version?
Wait for the rumoured 15 inch MBA.
I’ve never owned a laptop/MacBook until last year.
The 16” feels normal.
I really like the performance, display & battery & I’m on the M1 Max still.
Bitching about the size & weight? Wow, you should just be happy you could afford one.
I’ll rather get the 14
@@wolf_river808withcommentar4 I have the 12” iPad. That’s probably why the 14” seemed to small for me.
Your gonna love it though, the 14”, just the performance itself of these M series Mac’s are absolutely awesome. 🎊🎉🎈🎊🎉
@@iforgot3942 I already have it.Its been amazing for me since I travel a lot.
For environmental preservation, why are we still not able to send our M1s back to them to swap the internals if it's the same design still? Boggles my mind. I'm still rocking a pristine 17 inch macbook maxed out in late 2011. Someone would have to gift me one of these for me to upgrade. No thanks. What?!
There are plenty of new technology based USB C chargers that are physically much smaller and weight less than Apple's. They my not be as powerful but they'll get you back runninng.
I have vision needing larger screen.
What will happen on the day a gpu becomes so fast, that speed comparisons equal zero across all task. All photo and video editing is instantous. How far is of is that day I wonder... the M9??? As the jump from M1 to M2 its hardly exciting.
Reasons for not having the supreme 16inch Macbook pro experience: "my coffee might not fit on the same table....😂"
Yes it over kill so m2 pro chip there just improved version base m2 5nm chip with some more horse power. instead giving us 3nm TSMC chip we all hoped for.
Do you even lift, Macbook Bro?
I prefer a bigger screen. But i wish it had a numpad.
“It’s so HEAVY”, meanwhile I’m upgrading from a 2012 15” MBP, so this new one is lighter. 🤣
14”….perfect
You are wearing an Apple Watch Ultra! I think you answered your own question just by that!
You could always get me one or just mail me your rejects. Lol kidding. Great show!
Lol thanks!
It’s just a video of you thinking out loud. Lol. The 15.4 has been my biggest to date and 16 is so tempting. I have never brought a laptop to a cafe and haven’t traveled with one in awhile since I use the iPhone for that. Ugh! I’m typing out loud!
Space grey or silver is the real question haha
IM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BUYING IT NEXT WEEK
I legit subbed so you can move to a better condo
-.-; it’s okay to do a product review but it sounds stupid if you keep making video like do I regret 1 week after?!
One day when they bring back removable ssd and remove stupid notch, one day..
For the specific content of you’re channel, you really won’t be the type of consumer that will hold on to you gear for prolonged stretches. You will likely to always have new tech. For some, a 2800 laptop will have expectation of lasting 5 years.
I used to think that way but I realize even for Apple products, after 5 years it basically has little to no resale value, it makes more economic sense if you just sell off your items after 1 or 2 years and top up for the new products.
Bigger is ALWAYS better! Smaller guys will never understand.
I’m being annoying, but a 15” would be a perfect balance. Of course, I don’t expect it.
The 16-inch MBP is the same size as the previous 15-inch (2020 and earlier), with no difference in size.
I think you need a bigger bag. - Martin Brody
So… You didn’t make a mistake by not doing something.
Almost a senseless question.
