- Donald Duck's recent appearance on the RUclips show Hot Ones surprised me to say the least. It was kinda weird to me, but really fascinating as a media piece too! I got fixated on it, so let's talk about this bizarre half marketing-half art piece! Donald Duck on Hot Ones... What a world we live in

I'd also like to point out that while Mickey drags Donald off, he nervously smiles an "Ugly Mouth". Which if you don't know, around the late 40's of the Mickey Mouse comic strip, Floyd Gottfredson started to sometimes render him with this really funny looking mouth shape, a sort of crooked looking smile shape. It is ironical how this expression got it's name, as model sheets during the 50's and 60's, for promotional materials actually urged artists to never draw Mickey with an "Ugly Mouth", also disapproving of a couple other facial expressions Gottfredson often used for Mick. It's like The Simpsons and their "Twister Mouths", in that regard. It's just one of those things artists in the comics like to do every once in awhile, and this is the first time I've noticed an Ugly Mouth in an animation
He is a popular comic book too. In europe his birthday has been celebrated like all year.
Where in Europe?
@@eddieryan7246 most of Europe. But especially the nordics and Central Europe. I don't think some of the comics ever get translated into English.
I’m a teacher, my students know who Mickey and friends are, but they don’t know who the Looney Tunes are so well. For me that show that you are right.
You know, around the same month this video dropped, a hardcover came out, The Donald Duck 90th Anniversary Collection. It's pretty cool, it contains a bunch of his comic book stories, including some all time classics "Lost In The Andes" and "Return To Plain Awful", as well as some stories that had never been published in America before, like "The Legend Of Donald Hood" and "The Life And Times Of Donald Duck".
Might seem like an odd thing highlight here, but I've always been a big fan of the Disney comics, and I figure this video would be a good place to mention it, so that maybe more people might discover them.
Using that marketing degree and fire spinning well for a video. Since fire is hot and hot wings are hot. Its hand to hand to mouth. Wait no thats fire eating nom nom nom.
Hahaha thank you so much!!!
@JesterBrosCartoonTheater I pay attention in class lol. But always a good video thank lucus.
To rip off DreamWorks when that did that with Puss In Boots? XD
It's like if a burger king gets built... you just KNOW you're getting a mcdonald's soon. (mcdonald DUCK that is! :3)
@@DezAmmySel I like French fries 😂
@@ADOGNAMEDCUPCAKE frenched fry... always good 🙂
Theres a recent push for the 2000s kids i think. There’s a disney cover album that was recently released that matches the similar vibe the current versions of the characters used in that hot ones interview “a whole new sound” feels like little preview for whats to come
I havent enjoyed something from disney like this in a long time
About the video being late for Donald's birthday Disney always celebrates things for about a year. For major events such as Disney 100 any big Mickey birthday ect almost always does things throughout an entire year for a celebration. Donald will probably have other things to celebrate Donald through out the rest of this year into the next.
What I find more important is Donald here is 2d animated rather then one of the 3d models. Disney hasn't done alot of 2d in the last decade but this along with Once Upon a Studio shows some sort of shift towards Disney actually doing 2d again and making their characters actually look like their class Disney art style. A few years ago he probably would have been a cgi made Donald but not now and that's super cool.
I like how he does Daisy eyes
I'm personally bothered by the fact that Donald is wearing shoes! Donald Duck does not wear shoes!
What if there is more ducktales
They bring Sisu for the next Hot Ones
The wings were delicious but where is my wife?
The 2nd name was common in the comics
kinda felt like an advertisement 😂😂😂 def was one
These things take time animation takes time😅
One word. $MONEY!$💵 Nuff'said.

Better than Twilight😆
