Omg I love this!!!! My mom used to watch the Arabic dubbed version in 80s when she’d travel to Syria, eventually she showed it to me and we watched the French version since it’s the only language we’d be able to understand. I’m thinking of buying this for her birthday! They look beautiful!!!

As a collector I must say this manga release is most luxurious that I have ever owned. Everything from the lovely gold decorated hard covers to high quality paper feels premium quality fit for the Rococo court that the story takes place in. While the are pricy you get what you pay for.
My wife used to watch the anime as a kid, so I might get these books to her... she is reading Inuyasha 3-in-1 Vizbig editions and enjoys them a lot, even tho one volume just broke apart!!
I do not mind sound effects translations in the end so the art stays intact. I use my imagination.
I really hope Lone Wolf and Cub will get the HC deluxe treatment!! What are the chances in your opinion?
I have the Le Chevaliere D'Eon anime but, only volumes 1 - 4. Looking forward to picking up The Rose of Versailles hardcovers. Looks amazing!

I was just talking to my daughters about one of my favorite shows in Peru, Lady Oscar. My sister and I watched when we were little. We loved it! I'm definitely going to order these books!

Wow it's been forever since I first heard this would come out, I lost hope and forgot about it... The books are absolutely beautiful but I wasn't expecting such a high pricetag. I guess I'm not used to buying hardcover omnibus, it's not my personal preference. I'll pick it up though if I get a chance!

It's funny how manga was seemingly unaffected by the pandemic when it started and now suddenly it's the opposite. Comics are back mostly and IST/CGN are running smoothly but RS meanwhile has held several of my orders for over a month at this point. Anyone else experiencing big delays?

has ANYBODY been able to get volume two yet?? the most recent release date I got was August 4th, so I went to go order on amazon and it says they’ll ship it out to me in a couple days I guess, but I noticed everywhere else online says either not available or sold out, what gives??

Have you read Great Teacher Onizuka by Tooru Fujisawa. I think it's oop and kinda hard to find though. The anime is funny as hell too
I love GTO and Early years and I never did finish his third series though.

Great review! I’d love to hear your thoughts on Vinland Saga? I’m just getting into reading Manga. I’ve started with Berserk and Full Metal Alchemist and have loved them both. Im looking for my next book. I’ve been going back and fourth between Vinland Saga or Dead Dead Demons.

Vinland Saga is in my opinion the 4th of the Great Masterpieces right up there (if not surpassing ) Berserk, Vagabond and Monster. though there are many VERY good manga there is nothing like those 4 they are on another level entirely. if you still have not tried Vinland yet i implore you to pick up the £12 ($20) hardcovers from Amazon(UK,US,CA) or your respective marketplace. one of the best stories i have ever read and is still ongoing
@NMC / But..? What exactly is the story about? A woman dressed as a man? She’s a Palace guard..? Annnd..? Is this for Adults, kids? I’m a little lost on this, as I have no knowledge of this Manga, and I’m a late convert with, by Naoki Urusawa’s ‘MONSTER.’ Which was FANTASTIC!!,
This takes place in France, before and during the French Revolution. The main character of the series is the young, flighty Queen of France, Marie Antoinette, however later a woman named Oscar François de Jarjayes temporarily became an important character only until her death.
Oscar's father, General Jarjayes, despaired over never getting a son (he had six daughters), and decided to raise his youngest daughter as a man. He trained her well in the arts of fencing, horsemanship and medieval combat. Oscar often practiced her skills with her best friend, companion and (technically) servant, André Grandier, whom she almost always defeated. André is the grandson of her nanny and thus they spent most of their time together in harmonic friendship; near the end of the story, this friendship blossoms into mutual love.
