It will always surprise me and future generations that this nutcase ever became president.
I am curious what Trump supporters make of his blatant lies over petty things that nobody but him cares about. Everyone fumbles a word here and there. Just owning it, saying, " I misspoke" and moving on is a much better way of handling this type of thing. And I may add a much more mature way. But he just exacerbates it with these tweets. The axiom that comes to mind is, "The lying/cover up is often worse than the crime." By tweeting and lying in the face of video evidence and then changing that lie turns it from a semi-funny, completely inconsequential gaff to a prime example of Trump's willingness to fly in the face of truth, even when the situation is cut and dry, black and white.
So the question is 'why does he do this?' It is exceedingly petty and far below the dignity and responsibility of the president of the United States. Tweets like these mean nothing in a vacuum. But cumulatively they reveal a great deal about his priorities and what thoughts occupy his mind.
Therefore I put this to trump supporters: what message do you take away from these tweets and instances where he is clearly and intentionally evading the truth? I am not asking this sarcastically or maliciously, I am honestly curios.

The funny is funny, but there is also a lot of scary evil shit being done by that administration. The buffoon is a great distraction from the truly fucked policies being pushed and implemented in the background. It is hoped that murricans will see that despite the corruption "on both sides," one side seems to be actively malicious and anti-human. Seriously. The false equivalence hoax is amazing -- the shameless lying and projection is beyond orwellian. Critical thinking and education that can't be dismissed and biased toward any faction is the only effective vaccine I can think of. Without that, we're stuck in either despair apathy inaction or in more of the same ends justifying means constitutional abuse by whatever faction our adolescent-brained rebellious self-destructive core population reflexively supports (because the perceived "opposite" of whatever shitty ideology fucked them last time is mistakenly adopted as the path to muh freedums), will also be serving the same predatory capitalistic corps they have always served.
