    My personal favorite is still Batman Returns. The 4k steelbook collection I have is one of my favorite pieces as well.

      I’m such a sucker for Christopher Nolan so the Dark Night Rises will likely be my tops forever. I know it’s cliche but it’s SUCH a masterpiece of a film to me.
      Thanks for checking out the review bud!

    I don’t think it’s the best Batman movie, but it is my favorite…and that’s all that really matters to me

    Great review! Really appreciate the general review of the release but also the deeper dive into the deeper themes of this classic. I’d agree with you on giving the nod to the Bale/Nolan version but I’d also say Keaton’s version is to Batman what Connery’s version is to Bond. Final thought - I would’ve preferred the original poster art for this steelbook release. The original slipcover 4K release was an abomination though so this is a big step up.

      Agree - I do think the OG poster art would have looked AMAZING on this new 35 year anniversary steelbook. I don’t mind the current look, but you’re right. That would have been sweet!
      Thanks for the comment and for checking out the review.

    One of my favourites. Jack Nicholson as the joker is casting for the time, at its best. “My balloons, he popped my balloons”🎈 This one is my favourite alongside Returns, Danny DeVito as the penguin wow!! I love the Dark Knight, mainly for Heath Ledger’s performance. The problem I have with the later Batman movies is the villains aren’t hammed up enough. I don’t want them to be realistic I want crazy. As bad as Forever is, I think Jim Carrey was an awesome Riddler. I think the next Batman needs to explore the villain Clayface he’s never been featured in a movie.

      I like the “darker” more sinister Batman. I don’t know how well received “The Batman” was of 2022 with Robert Pattinson but I liked it overall. Just had a bit of a hard time with Robert as Batman.
      Clayface? I don’t even know the character lol - was never the biggest super hero genre guy but always happy to explore new characters within the storyline

      @@ungraduatedmedia Clayface is a monster that can shape shift. I really liked The Batman (2022) Pattinson is a fairly good actor I think. Have you seen him in The Lighthouse with Willem Defoe?

      Pattinson did well as Batman I think. Most definitely the darkest portrayal to date IMO…

    At the age of 22, I saw this film opening night The media hype and the fan hype was extreme. This movie may have even introduced the concept of “hype” for movies. The scene where the Bat Wing momentarily eclipses the moon (replicating the Batman logo) triggered a thunderous nerd-gasm throughout the theater Personally, I thought the movie was just OK and the sequel was considerably better. It’s funny that in 1989, everybody thought this was a dark and sophisticated take on Batman.

    For me, The Dark Knight trilogy is by far the best. I also like the old TV serie from the 60'. It was a fun TV serie.
    Before Nolan films, I saw all the Batman movies in the theater when they came out. The movies made after Nolan, I also saw all of them by renting them at my video store or on Netflix, but I found all of them rather... bah... 6/10. The type I see once just for the sake of curiosity but don't worth to own or rewatch.

    • @ungraduatedmedia

      Yeah - I think this one harkens back to an era where “superheroes” were first coming into view in a new way. I think Tim Burton started it to some level with this one.
      But yeah - the Dark Night Trilogy is hands down my favorite.
      But I do think this is one of the best of the “OG’s.” It’s well done for its time and I appreciated it more after re-watching…especially in 4k 👍🏼
      What did you think of the new one “The Batman” with Robert Pattinson? I think he did well but I just can’t help but see him as a vampire…although - vampire…bat…kinda the same right 🤷🏼‍♂️

      @@ungraduatedmedia Well, I must say that just looking at the pics, it's enough for me 🙂 It's just the movie itself that I'm not a fan even if it's still enjoyable.

      Have you seen The Batman from 2022 with Robert Pattinson? I liked the movie, had a hard time seeing Robert as Batman but thought he did well. Definitely a “darker” Bruce Wayne…

    • @SteviesCornerYouTubeChannel
      @SteviesCornerYouTubeChannel 3 месяца назад

      @@ungraduatedmedia Yep, as I mentioned, I saw all of them. That one and also Batman vs Superman. Like I said, they're ok, but that's about it. I recently watched few Batman animated movies I bought in 4K and the "dark side" of the Wayne character is often present, way more than real movies. Villain's are also more brutal, heartless, violent. It's more for adults than for everyone as a typical movie.

    • @ungraduatedmedia
      @ungraduatedmedia  3 месяца назад +1

      @@SteviesCornerRUclipsChannel I liked the newest one with Pattinson but for whatever reason, to your point, I always wondered why Batman wouldn’t “kill others.” At least not intentionally…
      Most super hero films have no problem displaying that. I’ve not checked out any of the Animated films yet…

    I never watched this Batman movie and now you've made it compelling for me as must watch film. The ss were just incredible to see on my 85 inch X95L.
    'The dark knight' is however my the favourite among the trilogy so far.

    Keaton will always be my fav. That would be inside the suit. He brought a certain intensity to the role, with the moves and all the seriousness needed in the role. Story as well, but with the maak and cape, Keaton rules.

    Is this version the one in HBO Max?

    • @ungraduatedmedia
      @ungraduatedmedia  3 месяца назад

      This is the original theatrical release so I would assume it’s the same if available on HBO max but sometimes these releases include directors cuts or other cuts that are typically not shown on streaming services. But with a quick search I just did, it does appear to be the same. Most likely however the sound will be better on this release since it’s not compressed which almost always happens with streaming.
