dude I remember this when I was eight - thanks for the memories! Days of collecting ball cards, cartoons and watching wrestling on tv every Saturday. Man those WERE the days!
WOW! This is another show I never thought I would see again. I was probably....1? (1970) but I have obscure memories of that white dot bouncing around. Thanks for uploading this!
this is cool. it reminds me of sunday morning when my parents were too hung over to go to chuch...we loved when they were hungover. the only cartoon that was on was jot....back then we thought it sucked..now i think it's fantastic
Last night at work me, my supervisor and a co-worker was talkin bout cartoons and my supervisor asked me if I remembered Jot. I had forgotten all about this cartoon until he asked me bout it.
Didn't these air on Bill Kelly's Children's Hour in D/FW on Sundays, Ch. 5? Jot, Davey & Goliath and Bill reading the Sunday comics.. The memories.. lol
"That's the way it is! Truly-oolee-oolee-ay! So, Whatcha gonna do today? I'm going to share!" I can't believe I remember the song! I was attempting to explain this show to my wife, but seeing is believing...
i remember this also after getting out of kindergarden. i ask my aunt to give him that name because that toon. she used it for his middle name. he is now mad about it
NO!!! You don't have the part where JOT ask "do you like magic tricks" ANybody remember the address? Too Funny! Thanks for posting!!! Larry New Orleans (newer if we get hit by a hurricane again!)
Yes, me too! Didn't the jun kit have a fake mustache and maybe some glasses? or i might be confusing that with another mail-off premium. wow, waiting those 8 to 10 weeks seemed like an eternity.
Did UPA really make this? That would raise their fame to a factor of...about 4 [including Gerald McBoing-Boing, Dick Tracy's animated series, and Mr. Magoo].
He didn't do the whispering...the toy - an inanimate object - came to life and told him it was wrong to steal. Wow...a toy that comes with it's own auditory command hallucinations!
Nah, the voice was just a representation of what was going on in Jots head, as was the fact that the toy seemed to have lost its luster because he knew he shouldn’t have it. This was one of the better episodes I think.
Thanks for posting this one. Man, I haven't seen this cartoon in over 30 years. I used to love it as a kid, and never thought it would be shown again.

Wow... talk about taking someone back in time. I'd forgotten all about this cartoon. Thanks for sharing.
I love Jot. I have been looking for it forever. I also bought the video at familynet
Man, I would sure love one of those sparkly pinwheel music things!! Except without all the psychedelic guilt it comes with! ✨

Acid, I remember watching this as a kid! Whatever toy Jot was playing with, I want very badly!! LOL!

The UPA-style animation is very attractive. Thanks for posting this.
I actually sent 25 cents to a place called "fort worth" texas and got a jot fun kit. It only took eigth to ten weeks....
LOL! Thanks! I had a friend who remembered it! She too loved this cartoon!

Much better than I remembered...backgrounds are a knock-out. Thanks for sharing!
i used to watch this before going to Sunday School. Happy memories. :)
Wow. I remember watching this when I was a teeny-tiny kid back in the '60's.
Didn't these air on Bill Kelly's Children's Hour in D/FW on Sundays, Ch. 5? Jot, Davey & Goliath and Bill reading the Sunday comics.. The memories.. lol
OMG I havent seen this since i was a toddler, I got a free plastic record of some songs from this as a kid...
Had a storybook of this cartoon. Nice to see the full version; watched the FamilyNet cut-down version yesterday. The full version is much better.
True but sadly i did not find all the full episodes from jot i just find a few
yet another educational and fun offering from jot.
If they bring back jot i would be happy

Interesting cartoon. If you listen carefully you can hear the toy's sounds faintly in the background before you hear them in a specific scene.
Good catch! That's print through in the magnetic tape recording... prior to creation of the optical soundtrack.
I don't think it was a part of his show, but I remember these came on either before or after his show. Yes, you are right, the memories!
Thanks. You made my Sunday.
i remember this also after getting out of kindergarden.
i ask my aunt to give him that name because that toon. she used it for his middle name.
he is now mad about it
Good video thanks for the flashback....wow!!!!!!
Fer cryin' out loud, who did the music to these? It's amazing!
Jot Was Breaking The 8th Commandment, When He Took That Toy, Which Is: Thou Shalt Not Steal.
Ah another life lesson from those crazy Southern Baptist. :P No, seriously, it's a good little show with a good message for everyone.
actually, there WAS a zip code back at that time. it was 76116
Wow ! This is so memorable !
Didn't JOT have some "Please Don't Litter" commercials on TV? Seems like I remember them but can't find any?
It is pretty hard to find jot stuff. Familynet's jot on youtube does not have the full episodes. I only found 4 full episodes.

Jot, Box 341, Fort Worth, Texas 76116, I know you'll like them hehehee
I remember that from over 40 years ago. That exact phrase lol
Jot (1964)
Yes, me too! Didn't the jun kit have a fake mustache and maybe some glasses? or i might be confusing that with another mail-off premium. wow, waiting those 8 to 10 weeks seemed like an eternity.
this was shown on sundays after davie and goiath.
Was this produced by Filmation, by chance? It has their sylistic feel to it?
It was produced by a small studio in Oak Cliff, Texas, just south of Dallas, about an hour or half-hour from Ft. Worth. (Going by Memory.)
I stand correted. Wikipedia states that it was a part of his show.
Snookie! I swear that thing says, "Snookie." It's the siren call of Reality TV! Noooooo.......
Did UPA really make this? That would raise their fame to a factor of...about 4 [including Gerald McBoing-Boing, Dick Tracy's animated series, and Mr. Magoo].
No, it was Keitz and Herndon in Dallas.. but they were heavily UPA-influenced, as was most studios of the time.
that is a wined up toy wind mill
This is really weird...
Why am I even watching THIS!!!???
ok so that sucked. it couldve been a good lesson, until he started praying and whispering 'thou shalt not steal'...
He didn't do the whispering...the toy - an inanimate object - came to life and told him it was wrong to steal. Wow...a toy that comes with it's own auditory command hallucinations!
