As an owner and lover of Bohemian shepherd, I can vouch for their singing qualities - a know dozens of them and every one of them can give Pavarotti run for his money 😁. They are great breed and I love them very much, but boy, they are very vocal 🙂 My dog, Rita, is currently in her bed and whining softly, if you need some confirmation 😊
I have to admit, I burst out laughing when Rio quieted down after getting a treat on the drying table. Living with two very food motivated dogs, I wouldn't put it past him to figure "I got one in the tub, why not here? Well, better let her know something's missing".
I have that breed. Our dog is positive food motivated (e.g. doing tricks) but is not distracted. She hates grooming. She behaves but ignores treats and sits and whines and shakes
Have a very sweet terrier cross who always needs a cleaning after walking(no fault of herself,the road down to the beach gets very mucky in winter) and a treat is always appreciated when bathing her.

TBH, they are not too much different from what we were as kids (at least me). I remember my dad had to 'bribe' me for getting a hair cut (I hated sitting still for so long...) 😀

I have one and he is an absolute crybaby, very vocal, the absolute friendliest dog with kids, but also has a lot of feelings he needs to sing for you. He hates being alone and loves the other pets, does not have one aggressive streak in him and he wants to please always.
THIS BREED IS AMAZING AND I LOVE THEM SO MUCH.

@Chaos89P I do! And he enjoys any interaction tbh, he is just the most eternal "puppy" breed I have ever experienced. The chodzký pes in the video (1yo) acts just like mine..(5yo). They seem to all stay puppies.

My grandfather used to breed "bawarskie Husky" as he called them! Kuba was our family pet during my childhood. Beautiful dogs, and yes...gentle, loving and totally devoted. He was my guardian dog and my parents/grandparents never worried if I went out alone as long as he tagged along!
I have one too and I love you call them chodsky!! We have one in sweden and they are so rare here too. They are the best breed ever and she is our first dog. Our also hates, HATES being alone 😂😂 she starts howling the second my partner leave the door!!
Looks like Rio does what he was bred to do- alert others when there is danger and then when they have been notified and he has been rewarded for his good work, he calms right down. He is a cute guy. I love learning about these new breeds I’ve never heard of before.
Yes, this is exactly what my crybaby german shepherd does when she thinks something is wrong. She also used to make this exact sound in the bath but aged out of it around 3 or 4 years old. But she still does the full whine/howl in a variety of situations, like when the smoke alarm goes off, or when someone unexpectedly approaches the house late at night when we're asleep. I have learned to always take her seriously, because if I can't tell what she's howling about and just go back to sleep, it's usually because she's warning me that she has an upset stomach and is about to have diarrhea inside the house!

I would say that along with husky this is my favorite breed. It is from 14th century. And recently it got recognized even by FCI! :D Strange that it is not more widespread (outside of the Czech Republic). Especially given how silly breeding destroyed the spine of many german shepherds.
Our chodsky (bohemian) sings like this when she want to potty, incredibly intelligent dogs!!
We call this breed "chodský pes" - Chods being the border guards of Bohemia, esp. on German borders, and "stuff of legends" here, very proud and courageous, a bit like Scottish Higlanders. They are often pictured in long woolen coats with fur trim and with this dog beside them. Glad to see one of these dogs so far from here! Greetings from the Czech Republic!

15 years? That's a well-built dog. Size, shape, and temperament were excellent. As you've always said, no dog particularly likes the dryer but his response was to sing instead of "punch" or "slap" at you with his paws. (Huskies like to take revenge with the paw punch!) He was a good boy for sure and this breed is on my radar. Thank you for this video!

I have one and he does random arooooo's he does sound like a husky. He hardly barks and pretty much a ninja dog. I call him ninja. He also loves to herd my hound and burst run across the yard! Fast dog and such a goober personality.

Beautiful breed. Same as German Shepherd but smaller in size. Excellent for people in apartments but you have to exercise him like all working breeds. He will keep you safe 🙂

They aren't an international breed but they are common in the Czech Republic
We have one in sweden and they are so rare here. Everyone think she is a mean dog and a german Shepherd when she is the most kind and friendly dog ever..
@Henrik YES same here. Mine is the sweetest cuddlebug, but everyone thinks it's a scary long haired German shepherd. We went to the region chodsko where they originated in the Czech Republic to get mine. They are so rare outside of the 🇨🇿 !! Amazing that at least one found their way to Sweden and the US
@@atherisGAY we have a couple of breeders in sweden now! They are becoming a bit more popular 😍 But the waiting lists are sometimes years long, we got really Lucky since our breeder lost their list. We are thinking of going to czech republic directly and picking them up there! Easier for us than americans i can only imagine! One of the best breeds out there ❤️😍
@@henrik1743 There is a university in Brno (southern Czech Republic) that has a large english veterenarian program. There are a couple of hundred swede and norwegian students there.
I met a bunch of them in the dog park here. I think a few of them ended up getting chodskys

Beautiful dog and breed. 🙂Only 2 days ago I was watching the finale of the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship where the Canadian team finished on the 1st place and the Czech team on the second. I guess this cute Bohemian/Czech Shepherd was just a little sad because his home team didn't win, I'm sure that's all the whining was about. Heads up, junior, silver medal is great too, especially when Vanessa herself gave you a 10/10 review! 🐕😊

Bohemian shepherd was my first dog - great for first timers, families and is no slouch in sports! However I fell in love with IGP - so than something with more bite had to make an appearance. Now have GSD and Malinois, but if I'd ever want a bit less ferocious dog, Bohemian shepherd it is ♥️

At work yesterday we had 6 huskies in the play group, and one of them kept singing the song of her people at me. My boss found it funny when I said "yes we know you're a husky"
I think 🤔 this would be a contender for Shepard breed, if I was to get one. The smaller size and little lower energy than the German shepherd would be nice. Also that it doesn't have the lower back/hip issue that is present in most GS would be a bonus.
