Welcome to the 34th day of the year. This is a day when the wise ought to cry out for mercy and forgiveness as Moses did in Exodus 34: 9. This is a day of vengeance - a day to make reparations instead of allowing anger take its course. Psalm 34:18 reminds us: "The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit". The 34th book of the Bible, Nahum, is about the jealousy and vengeance of God. This agrees with the themes in the 34th chapters of the Bible. In Genesis 34, the sons of Jacob took vengeance against the people of Shechem because of their sister, Dinah.
