Hey @BillSnodgrass-v6l, which Onn device are you working with. The one I was using was the onn 4k streaming box. I recently picked up the 4k pro and noticed it doesn't have USB.
@@synacktime evidently that is what i have... threw the box away . I had been using it for another app (one that claimed to be free, but since has gone the pay to use route. ). So can the non-USB device be used?
@@BillSnodgrass-v6l Good question! I bought a few of the 4k box pro's for watching movies and TV's. Let me see if they give any sort of access from the network. I know they have a USB port for storage devices and can run ADB files. I'll get back to ya! :D
@@synacktime I'm a dummy. After replying i looked and can load the slideshow app on the device. I hope that you have videos on setting all this up. Thank you for your help
Great question! Here is the documentation for connecting with Android. xibosignage.com/docs/setup/xibo-for-android-install You'll want to do the manual config so you can specify your server if you're hosting your own, if not, I'd use the code!
@@synacktime Thank you! So instead of using the Slideshow APK, I have to use the Xibo for Android APK and pay for the license? Or will the Windows APK still work?
@@dannynoww Yup! The android license is perpetual for that version, so you can run it forever and it's only for that one device. Good thing about Xibo is that you can centrally manage it, really handy if you're doing multiple devices. Buying a license sucks, but better than a subscription and the server you can run for free :)
Very useful video. However, I am a bit lost as to connecting the onn device to my computer via USB. There are two ports: an HDMI and the power.

@@BillSnodgrass-v6l So I'm pretty sure I can load APK files normally on this. Are you wanting to see if we can get it to go into portrait too?
