I am new to Trillium Notes and I love this video , you did a really good job . I will need to watch it again a few more times LOL it moved kind of fast but GREAT content. I will definitely checking out more of your content !
Thank you for the kind words! Sometimes I worry about my speed and remind myself to slow down 😁
Oh, you should also check out Docmost. I switched to it recently.
Great video. Please change style of some of your site, because the sudden dark and white background change blasted my eyeballs out, when you alt+tab between them.
Thank you for the recommendation!
Ahh I see what you mean now :D I changed the logo a bit ago, lemme know what ya think!
👍👍👍👍👍
Would it be possible to take this video one step further and show how to populate the data: and volume: fields inside this recipes?
Sure thing! Let me see what I can do
I use GitHub desktop app the commands I used in terminal did not work for GitHub. It seems I need to re download the 6.5gb every time I run the software. Any advice on what I should do? Thank you for the video
UPDATE! Looks like I was right about the default port in the environment variable. Dan, the writer of this amazing project reached out to me and said it was a bug he's going to get fixed soon. Really nice guy, please support him however you can!
Great Tutorial as always.. Can you please create a video on Heimdall installation, an application dashboard via Portainer?
Cool suggestion as always! 😀. I'll look into it!
hey, thanks man. Much appreciated.
You got it!! 🤜
Can you do a vid on how to upload to Dropbox? The recipe doesn't seem to be working.
Here ya go, buddy! :) ruclips.net/video/GhG2aDsx9sE/видео.html
So... do you like it better than LinkWarden? I don't see much if anything that it offers over LW, which has a long development track record.
I agree :) It's up and coming, but Linkwarden is still rock solid.
Why not use the official Bitwarden for self hosting? I'm wondering because before it was Vaultwarden it was named Bitwarden_rs and support stopped for it. What happens if development/support stops for Vaultwarden? Is it possible to migrate without having to do it all over again? Thanks for the video.
Ey Ben relp-me
Always happy to help!
Can these be run on a raspberry pi or specific to Intel/AMD chips only?
Great question! Looks like (according to the dockerhub tags), they do support amd64, arm v7 and arm64! Should work fine on a Pi! hub.docker.com/r/offen/docker-volume-backup/tags
More Linux videos please!
Will do!!
Good work
Thank you, my friend! :)
Thank you for your tutorial! I finally managed to complete the deployment. Have you had a chance to try out Pulsetic website monitoring?
I haven't! I'll be happy to take a look though!
@@synacktime Waiting to watch a tutorial, thank you!
Thanks for the video tutorial. Question -- would we need to set up port forwarding from our router? Sorry if you said this in the video and I missed it.
Yup! If you're hosting it privately. I'm going to do a video soon using tunnels with Cloudflare soon!
@synacktime Thanks for the reply and I look forward to your video! One more follow up I have is what if you use Caddy to reverse proxy instead of NGINX? I have done a search and it seems you do not need to expose ports in your router if using this approach.
great video..using a paid external server and dns service.. how about running the rustdesk server on a selfhosted raspberri pi for local connections but also using a cloudfare tunnel for connections outside the local network? is this possible? id like to see a video on this. :)
I like this! I'm not as familiar with Cloudflare, but I'm learning and picking it up pretty quick. Let me experiment and let you know! :)
Thanks man, this was very helpful.
Awesome! 😎
I'll try doing this to my own instagram account and see if I can hack myself. 😊
Haha! Let me know how it turns out!
It might be a good idea to change the ROOT_URL variable to make sure that nothing in the code that relies on it will have any issues. It might not be an issue in this specific case, but it's good practice to make sure that your URLs are matching to avoid issues in other containers :)
Great point!
So in this example, would you just change it to the IP for the host (assuming it's using a fixed IP on your network)?
Yup!
Hey, thanks for pulling this together, I really appreciate it. I followed all the instructions, but when I deployed the stack and went to my local IP, it is timing out. Upon further inspection, the container is throwing this error at me? exec /usr/bin/bash: exec format error Any suggestions?
Happy to help! Tell me a bit about the computer you're trying to run this on. Is it Linux, Windows or Apple?
@@synacktimeit’s a raspberry pi 4 running raspian os lite, docker and portainer
Right on! I see the problem. Those docker containers are only built for amd64 processors but the raspberry pi runs an arm processor. I looked around Wekans site and support for arm is referenced but the page that contains the download appears offline. I'll have to check around a bit more.
@@synacktime Thank you.
@@synacktime alternatively do you have a video on how I can install Linux on an old laptop and host Eelam from there?
Thank you very much. You're explanations are so easy to follow. It seems Fooocus is much more complex than I thought.
Happy to help!! You should look at comfy-ui, that thing can get crazy complicated 😂
could you help for a tutorial to setup without DOCKER.
No Docker?!?!?! Are you mad!?? :) Yea, I think I can add that to my list. My request video won't be so dramatic, but I'll do my best to make them informative.
I followed your video to get Rustdesk installed and all seems to be running. I installed a client and pointed it to the Rustdesk server. When I try to connect to another client, I am getting a connection error, specifically Key Mismatch. Any suggestions what to change to make it work? Thanks.
Hey @KyleTripp-n7w, one of my other viewers had this issue too. Check out what they said: @KillTask - I figured out the issue I had to look for the key within the volume where the container was deployed then I have added the key to the client and that worked, thank you very much for your video from all the videos I found for rustdesk server deployment this was the easiest to follow with the easiest method to deploy.
Can you do a video on how to run it locally and not accessible over the internet, i.e. LAN only?
Sure! :) I'll see if I can whip something up this week!
@@synacktime thank you. Please tag me when you've dropped the video!
Hi, is RustDesk safe to install on our laptop, or is there a risk of phishing or hacking when we're not using the app ?
Great question! When you install Rustdesk, you don't have to allow it to run all of the time. If you're using your own privately hosted server, there's even less chance. You can also add a password someone has to use to get into your machine from Rustdesk. Personally, I wouldn't leave any remote program running unless I'm using it, there's always that risk.
@@synacktime Thanks for the reply. So, if we don’t open RustDesk, does that mean it won’t run in the background on Windows? Sorry, I’m not familiar with using a private server, so I’m just using the default settings of Rustdesk. I’m just worried that someone could control my laptop in the background even when I’m not opening the Rustdesk app.
@@LethauzerBenhard Yup! As long as you don't click the 'Start service' button, it'll stop when you close the program. :)
After this my portainer isn't running :(
Did ya figure it out?? Happy to help!
@@synacktime finally I was able to find it on https and port 9443. Port 9000 never came back
God bless you for your great work here! Thanks a ton! This is nearly exactly what I was looking for! I don't need the slide show, but I am going to try have it boot a webpage for me that is our updated slideshow.
Most excellent!! Glad to be of service :) Take care and don't hesitate to reach out if you need any help!
Excellent video. I was about to setup evilginx and do this exact experiment and now i dont need to😅 thanks for sharing! Subscribed!
Lol no problem! I tested out Microsofts new token production conditional access policy yesterday. It was pretty effective, if you're looking for protection. I'll have to whip up a video.
@synacktime awesome looking forward to it. The other things that would be cool to see is what happens when a threat actor tries to steal a token from a user with GSA client and a CA policy requiring a compliant network (SSE internet access)! I plan to test this out as well but looking forward to your input as well! Thank you!
Hello greats video. Is it possible to install Xibo on a normal webhosting? What are the requirements for this hosting?
That's an excellent question! There is a more manual install if you can't install and run it off of Docker. Here is the link to running it, I think you'll have to be able to install a few packages with apt. xibosignage.com/docs/setup/xibo-on-a-web-server On a side note, if you're looking for a cheap VPS, I have been on Racknerd for years now. Check out these VPSes on the cheap (ignore the black friday messages, they run these all the time) www.racknerd.com/BlackFriday/
thanks for the great video session .. but .. - I would recommend to disable that annoying and distracting background pling-pling noise ! - I wished you would use a larger, colored, noticeable, calm (!), easy to follow cursor instead of an almost invisible, hard to follow micro-pointer !
Thank you for the suggestions! I've made a few changes in my screen zoom in my most recent video but I'll look for a cursor mod 🙌
Great video! Thanks you very much for sharing your knowlege.
For sure!! Thank you for taking the time to comment! It's appreciated!
Thank you very much, But please can you help me to install server on local host and connect it to screen without internet at all
Suer thing @sezzars! If you're following along and you see at around 10:36 where I remove the lines referring to port 80? Well, don't do that! :) Also make sure you don't have Nginx Proxy manager installed. If you leave those ports where they are (80:80), then the server should start up on a the http port which you can access directly. Also when I'm talking about setting the name of the server earlier, make sure you just use the IP address of the server (that should do it). Let me know if this helps my dude!
@@synacktime thanks a lot🙏🏼 I will try it soon for my client if he accept it and back to you Thank you very much 🎁
Wohooooo! 🎉 Thank you 🙏🏽
lol :) Just remember @r3tr0n17, you don't want to comment the ports for local only traffic. Peace!
Hello! Thanks for your videos. What is the proper way to update portainer?
You're in luck! I made a video that describes how to easily and quickly update it! ruclips.net/video/SO9SqGcyqOE/видео.html
Thank you very much for the video it helped me getting the rustdesk server up and running, I am having an issue with the client not sure if you could help, I downloaded and installed the client successfully it connected to my server without issues but when I try to connect to another computer it says key mismatch right away, any idea how to fix this error?
For sure! Sorry you're having some hiccups though, when you specified your server's address, did you put anything in the relay, API, or key fields? I'd check to make sure they're blank unless you did add a key.
@@synacktime I figured out the issue I had to look for the key within the volume where the container was deployed then I have added the key to the client and that worked, thank you very much for your video from all the videos I found for rustdesk server deployment this was the easiest to follow with the easiest method to deploy.
@@KillTask That made my day, thank you!! :)
This is a great tutorial and I highly recommend Valutwarden. Vaultwarden has been my standard for quite some time and I can't say enough good things about it, NPM and many other Open Source projects. I found it interesting that you didn't expose the web port for the container. Then as I watched I understood that all apps in this tutorial are running on the same host and docker instance. Thanks for the Great, Concise tutorial Sincerely, New Subscriber to your channel.
Thanks!! My Trello is always crashing on my iOS as well, but like open source much more.
Same! :) Glad I could help!
Does Trilium store the notes in plain text? That was the OS can index them and you can find information in the notes using Apple Spotlight.
I saw this on their github, but basically they decided to go with a SQLite database, so not sure if this would work for you. Here's the link where he explains why they went this route: github.com/zadam/trilium/wiki/FAQ Thank you for asking a great question!
@@synacktime I tried it out yesterday. About 5 minutes later I deleted it. The interface is unintuitive. It took me most of those 5 minutes to figure out how to create a note. There isn’t a “compose” or “new note” button. Then I tried to create s folder to store notes in, and it doesn’t look like you can do that at all. I’ve tried out a dozen or so notes taking apps this year on my search for “the one” and this one was the most difficult to use. For comparison, It was easier to install Nextcloud on a VPS and use their Notes app than Trilium.
I wish I would have known about Fooocus earlier. Great AI generator. Thanks for the tutorial.
