I also noticed the reservoir isn’t completely seal. I guess they make it like that so the air bleeds out from the system

Yess you can , distiled water is just a little bit more pure for the same price this is why

What caused the leak?

That was the upper hose clamp ... she was so rusted that she broke in 2 so the hose wasnt seal anymore... thanks for watching JB
