Imagine sending signals to aliens in their stone age. They wouldn't even see them, let alone respond back.
No response doesn't mean no life.

Assuming they’re animals like ancient dinosaurs were then we would ultimately be their demise. But let’s face it, even if life is found somewhere outside our solar system that is advanced, we would never see them come here or us even travel considering the fact it would take 80000 years just to reach the nearest star. We assume aliens are advanced species with technology far greater than our own but maybe they’re just microscopic organisms that live far underground that we will never know about unless we dig there. Anything is possible at this point. The further you go out in space the more unreal it gets, look at black holes and how they can bend space and time.

Hence, it is only scary to non-theists, like Sagan, who loved to ridicule theists for having the hubris to think that man could be supremely unique. He had many jolly moments taunting poor superstitious religious people. Now the tables have turned as it becomes clear that the dead silence of the universe may point to A) that it is empty or B) travel is impossible across such vast spaces or C) both.

The question to me is not if there are other civilisations out there, but where. It's impossible to achieve space travel due to the immense distances between stars and galaxies. There are definitely others out there but it's unlikely that we'll ever meet each other because of that. Even if someone out there is able to develop a durable enough wormhole it would still be impossible to reach anyone, because we all constantly moving with unimaginable speeds, so that's why even if we had a functional wormhole in action we would never be able to calculate the exact course and distance to the next star or galaxy, a fact that would be catastrophic for anyone no matter what, because if you find yourself stuck in blunt emptiness due to an unavoidable mistake, without being able to find another solution or a solid place to land, and actually without being able to go anywhere because of those beautiful unfathomable immense distances i mentioned, simply means certain death for everyone. Not to mention that the star system or galaxy we were supposed to plan to visit, may not even exist by the time we would set the hypothetical course from here to there, and the same goes for everyone else out there, unless they have reached God level abilities which is highly unlikely if we consider that they may exist almost as long as we do. Now If they're a few millions of years ahead of us then they might be able to travel through space by bending it, but even then there's the lifespan of everything that exists, as everything dies at some point regardless of the composition of materials of which that everything may be composed of, so that's why I believe that every case is impossible unless they are Gods, like I mentioned above.

Lot of interesting ideas summarized. The only one I want to comment on is the idea that "challenging" conditions are necessary for the evolution of complex life. Once you get up to multicellular organisms and the possibility of cell specialization into different tissues, ever increasing biological complexity is pretty much inevitable, due to competition for resources if nothing else.
If life never makes it past the single cell stage, there are a limited number of bauplans (basic types of organismal "designs") that are possible. However, once you get to tissues, organs and a wide variety of bauplans become possible and thus nearly inevitable. Over long evolutionary timescales you can think of a bauplan that is theoretically possible as an empty niche. Over millions of years, there seems to be an evolutionary rule that empty niches get filled (at least if an ecosystem isn't disturbed). That's why we see repeated adaptive radiations when new ecosystems are colonized. In fact here on earth diversity tends to be highest in the most environmentally stable ecosystems. Not putting a bunch of citations to primary literature here, but trust me.

well all this does bring up the thought in me of the possibility of us indeed being created, considering all above it doesn't seem that impossible of a thought, and there is certain scriptures that state this concept as well as that we are unique beings in the whole universe...
PS: An other thought which is interconnected is that IF any of the "aliens" supposedly being sighted might be of non alien nature but of beings that live here next to us, just on a so to say different plane..again beeing created by the same creator as we were..old scriptures call such entities "Jiin" etc.

There are just too much assumptions on this video based on what we know by our human criteria. First, there's no way for us to know how old the universe is, we don't even know how long it is, if it is infinite or not. What we considered habitat zone is something according with what we know now about how life is. But there could be planets in what we call not habitable zone where the could be life in a way we had no clue it could be possible. I good example is right here on Earth. I humans can't live underwater and fishes can. Right there are two different species on the same planet who have to live in different locations to be able to be alive. Maybe one of these planets that we think couldn't have life because no creature from earth could live there, it has life, but a life very different from what we know. It is arrogance from humans to think they are the only creatures in the whole universe that are alive.

I always find these kinds of vids endlessly fascinating. This is one of the best since it looks at life in the universe from so many different angles. I, for one, think there is life in the universe, with some life having progressed enough for the development of intelligent, advanced enough civilizations being able to visit us. We have almost daily reports of UFO's and "close encounters" that can't be explained or rationalized. If these visitors had evil intentions, with the goal of subjugating us (the theory that more advanced civilizations tend to destroy less advanced ones), they would have done it long before now. I just wish to be alive when aliens DO decide to formally reveal themselves to the world.👽👋🙍‍♂

That of course is saying that the signal hasn't degraded or weakened to the point that it can't be heard anyway. The same would go for us trying to hear signals from another solar system.
We also have to take into account the fact that these other solar systems are light years away. which means if we're looking at a star that is 50,000 light years away, we're looking at it 50,000 years ago. Which means they are seeing our own star 50,000 years ago as well. We weren't sending out radio signals 50,000 years ago.
