A type 7 civilization would be science fiction to a type 6 civilization. A better analogy for the gap between type 0 and 7 is more like a grain of sand and the fabric of reality throughout our entire universe. And yes, I realize that a grain of sand is an inanimate object.

I enjoy when the video implies that every moment of experience for any individual would include all information in all of spacetime, with each one having the cognitive capacity of "gods." The use of lower case "g" gods is an understatement, given the rest of the description. Transcending space and time would give access to all information, which equates to omniscience. We certainly won't ever be able to adequately imagine or dream of what "everything" is, or what knowledge of everything might be like, but I think it's accurate to say that individuals in type-7's (assuming there are individuals) would be omniscient. One thing I like to wonder about is whether it is accurate to assume that omniscience would be experienced as a thought process, instead of feelings, like a person in the deepest transcendental meditation. Would thoughts about everything not blur together into an experience more like a feeling?

What would you do with this amount anyway? What if they have a form of population control, keeping it relatively stable to avoid using up to much resources, this would also help eliminating overall scarcity, less people= more of the cool stuff for everyone.

Last week I had an odd deja vu… I don’t know the psychology behind deja vu but usually for me they feel like glimpse into a parallel universe. They appear like a flush back that’s so real yet before I can grasp the memory it’s gone.
Well last week I was listening to evolution of earth video and I started questioning why are we on earth what’s the purpose?
Immediately I had a deja vu where I was watching earth from space not even within our orbit. Then I felt this feeling of knowing why we are here and there’s a goal and it’s silly of me not to know it cos I had seen earth before coming here.
Then my mind went like wtf and I tried to rerun that memory but it was gone. I couldn’t retrieve the memory nor the answer. I’ve never even dreamt of being in space so I have no idea where that memory came from.
What if maybe we’re not from Earth but rather we’re here for a reason. Why is the reason not revealed to us?

Dyson swarms would certainly be much more practical, logistically or otherwise. The amount of material a civilization would need to mine or acquire from throughout their star system to construct a Dyson sphere would be wasteful and any species which attains a high enough level on the Kardashev scale to accomplish such things would never waste the time or effort to do so. Dyson swarms would be vastly more efficient while requiring substantially less material and without starving the planets in the system of the star's light.

Really for a species to accomplish it I imagine AI would be necessary, which would already be very likely if the species has developed interstellar space travel. And yes there is enough of the materials and they can be taken with the help of AI from other planets. Obviously this process would take crazy amounts of time, that's why AI would be so helpful.

Kardashev scale should get obsolete by now and be replaced by the Intelligence Scale. Civilizations should be categorized by its processing/computing power organic or inorganic or both, and not energy consumption. A high-level civilization may not even harness its suns energy as they are very efficient in making and recycling them.
I can say that we are in level II civilization because we use both organic and inorganic processesors (brain and computer). Once we get to properly link to brain to computer, we get to a higher level, and so on, until we reach top intelligence.

Let me pose this question to everyone…
If you were a life form with superior intellect would you want to make contact with a civilization like ours that has yet to advance beyond killing when disputes arise?
We are technically primitive in every regard.
Our civilization is divided by Hatred of skin color, intellect, envy, Greed, Bigotry against Gender, Sexual Orientation, personal possessions, etc.
Most prefer physical possessions over obtaining or acquiring knowledge.
I would certainly advise any type of intelligence to avoid us at all costs.
Instead of a desire to learn from such Civilizations Our leaders would focus on acquiring their knowledge to build more destructive weapons.
This is who We currently are and will continue to be for some time because We focus on all the wrong things that divides us as a Civilization.
Until We change from within for the better I suggest all life forms form elsewhere to avoid us because We offer nothing beneficial in any real sense.
Look in on us in another 10,000 years to see if We’ve matured.
If We are lucky maybe then We have learned to live in harmony with nature and ourselves.

@@Tim99GT Quite true, except that they would do that from a safe distance not wanting to interfere in any way.
And I would suggest that for all concerned.
It would be a different matter if as a Species We’d advanced to the point where Our interest would lie only in acquiring knowledge for the benefit of all living beings everywhere.
But sadly, you & I know that We are still way too primitive in our ways.
Military leaders would insist on pressuring our scientific community to learn what We can to produce bigger and deadlier weapons.
We need to outgrow all the traits that keep us at each other’s throats.
Not until We have outgrown jealousy, deceit, conceit, envy, greed, bigotry, and all the rest that shape Our existence for the worse.
Until then, We need to keep to ourselves till that aspect of our nature becomes obsolete just as at one time We all had tails but have outgrown them.
It’s has to be for the Good of all living beings.

The real truth is we were planted here and it was a test from day one, we don't know nothing because even if we tried remembering or wanted to know the truth the government is the head of The on3s keeping us fighting and against each other.. so nonetheless if u look at the truth at us voting for president to control our every day lives its almost like we're in a zoo and no matter what we want for ourselves we have to be in sync with the government that controls every bit of information and anything that is there for us to use, eat etc.. so in my mind , the government is just mind contrll2d by a alien race already here , and they keep us in the blind and are in kahoots with the aliens .. as they have no other planet to colonize that's breathable for them , and earth was a recent planet they found when all life forms came to.. But yet they can't live or breathe our air , so the crazy thing is we have so many rockets and satellites recently. Makes u think if we're sending them back to get technology and come back to earth in a hundr3d years if we survive this long.. send technology and a life form in a rocket or satellite like voyager and when it.makes it around the solar system then they have pinpointed location of where the aliens life forms actually found life.. So that's that's a r3ason we can't go to the moon because it's been a base for the government (aliens) to gather information and view the earth for their saf3 haven.. So nonetheless we're in a agreement to destroy ourselves until the robotic technology takes us out and th3n the aliens can create their own life out of our destruction.

I have a question that I have asked many times on different channels and never received an answer. Say we could harvest all materials to create a Dyson sphere by utilizing the entire planet of mercury, would that create ramifications in the general operation of our solar system. It seems to my dumb self that shifting an entire planets mass towards the sun would wreak havoc on the orbits of the remaining planets.

There is a good deal of evidence that AI has been overhyped, and there isn’t even a theoretical explanation of how cold fusion could actually work. This scale is compelling, but it is truly science fiction

The first thing that comes to my uneducated mind is that for constructing the Dyson swarm is that people aren't going to use steel of any kind because of the heat. Why don't we think about using some kind of a ceramic, or other type of material that's both heat resistant and you're able to make it by the sun, but that's faaaaar away.

It's control (!) of the genome that interests me. THERE'S the end of disease, and functional immortality, allowing sub-light interstellar travel, powered by these much-vaunted fusion reactors. WHEN we gain those, NOTHING can stop us! The galaxy is ours...and then who knows?!
    Let's do it. 🌎❤🥰👍❕

I dont think a civilization reaching these milestones would necessarily be building dyson spheres and harnessing all of the natural resources of their planet, or even planets in their solar system: it may not be necessary. If a civilization achieves more exotic energy sources based on more fundamental universal forces - such as antimatter reactors or harnessing zero point energy - i think they could achieve interstellar colonization without needing to use the raw energy of their star and its planets.

This presentation encourages a great expansion of imagination, I see great science fiction, a work inspiring to understand more of human evolution. On the other hand, by remaining in physics and material science, the problems with time and the living nature of beings and consciousness, beyond humanity are not addressed. If living beings are able to control and become energy -existing beyond the relative flow of time time and distances. What would be their purpose in seeking such unstoppable building and harnessing of universal reality? Why would do they need physical elements if they can move instantaneously or transform anything to what they want? These terrible creatures resemble the special nature of so called dominions, principalities and powers, beings existing out of time with the capability to manipulate and influence civilizations leading them to separate universes.

I don’t think humans as we are will be capable of anything beyond type 1. We just have too much fighting amongst ourselves to actually get beyond that. If we are to go further we need to evolve in some way.

Wars will almost certainly continue to decrease in frequency, as/if technology advances, because they can only occur due to a lack of information (decision theory, game theory, in principle, can always determine a negotiated settlement)- if a species arbitrarily keeps its propensity towards senseless violence, it cannot even reach such levels of sophistication.

you would need more material of advanced materials like metals and shit like that than the amount of matter thats on earth to do this. we would have to harvest an entire solar system to be able to even come close to starting a dyson sphere.
