You made art out of the process of making a piece of art that is used to experience art. I try in my work and life to approach action with the non-attachment recommended by lots of schools of religion. When I think of acting for the benefit of the act itself, and not the reward of the action, your video comes to mind. An appreciation of the beauty and richness in simply experiencing, like shavings piling up like curled fluff around a drill bit, or particulate wisping past a light. is ultimately how non-attachment seems attainable. It's a nice reminder. Thank you!
Hey Kirby, enjoy your videos. A little tip from an old tradesman, the next time you are drilling steel plates, as you were cleaning up at 11.48, tidy up with a much larger drill, to break the edges, and leave the file in the toolbox. Or, get yourself a countersink bit, and put a file handle on it, makes a great tool for breaking the edges of drilled holes. Keep up the good work, and I've given you a thumbs up as well.
2:05 where you tape the mitered joints together before gluing? What a freaking brilliant idea! I avoid mitered joints completely because I always have a hard time getting them glued together straight, but your idea would help a lot with that.
Great video. I love the way you show the entire build process and make it look so easy. I know this is an older video, but a little trick I use to remove metal burrs on the back side of the hole is to use a larger drill bit and just turn it on top of the hole I just drilled by hand. It saves time and does almost as good of a job as using files. Keep up the great work.
Very inspiring man. Really appreciate the work you put in the videos and the speakers that you build and always looking forward for a new video each week. I myself build speakers aswell as my hobby and I quite like it. its just you can express yourself through building a speaker which some people cant fully understand.
Amazing build. f2.8 doesn't need to be used at all costs. Would LOVE some voiceover of what you're doing as you do it. Just to clarify all the crazy thoughts I think I might try when I attempt a recreation. Tweeters for DAYS!
Great video as always. Not sure if the little heart shaped view through your hole drill bit at 5:42 was intentional or not, but I thought it was pretty cool :)
you should make a video on how to wire up crossovers and things like that. I'm new to this and would love a simple easy way to learn how to do this!! love the video
Wery nice and carefully build.Nice speaker with 2x full range speakers and a tweeter, i like the way you put the speakers away from accidental touching towards inside the case.Perfect for display in living room. And a very nice video! All the best, Cristian
Just found your channel with this video - fantastic build and video. I've been looking for a good source on how to build Bluetooth speakers - looks like I found the right place. Now I have to go watch all your other videos. Binge time..... Scott
Hi Kirby, Very nice looking and sounding speakers. Blue Tooth is a nice way to eliminate a lot of wire, keeping a neat look. Good video photography. I hope your doing good. Work safe, C.
Kirby, Have you ever thought about doing a build with passive radiators? I've noticed that a lot of high end BT speakers use them. I think it might bring you stuff to the next level. I don't have a youtube channel, but I build my own stuff and I think I'm going to try using them.
Hey Kirby. Another excellent vid my friend. I've been suffering from "Maker Overload" lately but YOU and Diresta have been my exceptions. You have a great thing going with a professional quality website and video production. Also love the links to each component in the vids. Keep up the good work.
You did extremely beautiful work creating this speaker. I want to do something very similar. Also, I love the relaxing music playing in your video! Thanks for the amazing video and keep making beautiful creations!
beautiful video thumbs up!! you really are a inspiration on how to make a beautiful product from scratch ... I always love ur videos and recommend them to all the new comers who I want to show what a finished product is :)... cheers!
As you tend towards a natural and black finish, you might try Shou sugi ban (Japanese burned/tung oil) for the black sometime, it'd leave in some more of the grain of the pine :)
Not only you make nice looking stuff but you took the time to create beautiful and artistic shots with you camera of many steps of your work. Congratulations for this video, is the first of yours I've seen and I've already subscribed. :)
Absolutely amazing, so mythical especially with the music. Amazed I haven't discovered you until now, oh well, definitely subscribed and look forward to watching the rest of your vids!
you got mad skills broski, i like your work gave you a sub. When i was a kid i tried making a speaker box just a plain rectangle one .. it came out looking like Italy. Never made one again :)
What is the wiring configuration? I'm assuming stereo for the two midranges, but just a single tweeter? Also, these look to be Dayton RS100's which can be used full range, would you say these could be ran without a tweeter and get a slightly warmer sound? I built a box and recently swapped out the previous amp for the one you recommend, and I do believe the audio quality is significantly better, but it seems to be quite a bit quieter as well. I wish they would come out with a more powerful board in the jab series.
Could you build a dovetailed cabinet using two different types of wood ? That would be an interesting build. Especially with a bit of 3D CNC machining.
Hi Kirby. Love your work and thank you for all info and tutorials. Very nice built. I have only one suggestion, safety related. It seems that you don't use a riving knife on your table saw and on 1:34 you are cross cutting one of the boards. I'm sure you know this can be very dangerous, cause it can cause some serious kickback. Be careful and stay safe. 👍🏻
Awesome video as usual. I agree with other commenters that it's your best to date. One question: On your build plans would it be possible to list the costs of the components? A ballpark range is fine. I'd hate to buy the plans and then discover the project is going to cost way more than I realized. Thanks and keep it up!
Thanks! I think I'm getting a little better at this. Yeah, I've received a few requests for this. It's tough because people buy the plans all over the world and getting parts here in the US costs are very different than other places. But I think it's a great idea, so I'll figure something out.
Didn't realize you had the components list in the video description. That's exactly what I'm looking for. You could consider that sufficient or also add that list to the plans purchase page for a pricing gut check. Thanks again!
One of Most satisfying videos I have ever watched.... Great Job.
Dude you are an artist, I am seriously addicted to your channel. I am sitting back patiently waiting for you to build a mid size 3-way set.
Its so nice to see such fine craftsmanship. Too many people these days rush to finish projects and fail to do them properly. Credit to you my friend

Just a much larger drill turned by hand. Sorry for not adding that to my first post.

Most Zen wood build I've ever seen! Beautiful job of editing.
honestly beautiful work, love when art meets engineering/building
i don't understand how people can be this good
You're like the Peter Mackinnon of wood art. Such a good feeling to watch you create something artistic with perfection in wood.
Amazing build.
