How did you make that look so easy. First class lesson, thank you.

One of my favorite instrumental pieces, I used to be able to play this pretty well, and without a slide, but that was 35 years ago. I'd have to dig through several bookcases to find my notes and learn it from scratch again. Good tone on this, however - this is how it sounded on the record, back when records were a thing…

Thanks for checking it out - dig out those notes! :-) Records are definitely still a thing!

First time I heard this song I was hooked. I keep my acoustic dreadnaught mostly in Open D, so this of course is played, as well as I can. But the sound REALLY needs to be electric. My Strat, action too low and strings (well 1 & 2) way too light playing with a brass ring finger slide anywhere near the nut. Sounds like a project!

Sounds like a GREAT project 🙂 Won't make much to have that Strat singing with the slide!

this was so good, wow! just a beautiful moody short blues piece, that beginning guitarists should come away with how powerful those pauses and holding the notes can be, just awesome. the vibrato almost sounds like a roto-vibe, making it almost better than the original. loved this piece ever since I saw it at the theater in '86, love Utube! gotta learn it now, thanks for doing this. Ry Cooder is one of the greatest guitarists of our generation, so underrated and talked about. cheers

@@onefingerguitarist Hey Dylan - Just wanted to say I really appreciate your relaxed lessons. As a beginner-ish slide player I find myself noodling a lot which is beneficial to a point (Sort of) but I don’t really practise properly and learn any songs like this great example - (a bit of ADHD thrown into the mix as well) After watching this lesson I’ve decided to make this my first song to practise and really achieve. I really enjoy your weekly lessons and will be signing up for your new course when some spare $$ are available - Thank you mate and Cheers as always from a fellow ‘One Fingered Guitarist’

@@rodjackson649 that's wonderful Rod, thank you for the support - really happy to hear this - it's such a great song to get down. Funnily enough this week's video is all about how to practise better :-) I think noodling is good, and if you can balance that with a bit of "learning" you'll go far :-) Thanks again, it's very much appreciated.
