I was 16 in 2003 and my friend and I got tickets to go see Lewis Black and Dave Attell. Their opener was a "special guest" and the whole time getting to the venue we were like "man I hope it's Mitch Hedberg" and then it was. Still one of the greatest live shows I've ever been to, such a great experience.
Wow, what a great and astute observation. It's not like Mark and Sam have made that joke themselves a hundred times. You really have to quit the booze.

Love Lewis black! Saw him in South Bend, IN and he did 100% old material and the crowd definitely wasn’t expecting that. He said that he’d never come back, and I thought that was a good choice. It was my first live comedy show and I’m happy to see him doing better.
@@1Deep43VA lol yeah, he was pissed. Indiana is very conservative leaning, and I think he was assuming that the crowd was just conservative. But in reality, most people were pumped to see one of their favorite comedians just to hear all old material.
Love to see you guys like little kids soaking up stories from the legends. Just like Jerry with Mel and Carl you are never too old to learn and show respect for those that paved the way
Lewis Black is a freaking LEGEND ..first saw him on his Black on Broadway special. So freaking good. Was able to meet him and get his autograph when he came to Winnipeg, Canada during a tour. Fucking Love him. One of my fav. stand up comedians of all time ..AND on a Podcast with 2 of my newer fav. comedians ?! Was a HONOR to listen!

Lewis black was my introduction to comedy when I was a kid I remember seeing him on Comedy Central and just be hysterically laughing . What a great guest
Incredible episode guys. Insightful. Cynical. I forgot how wonderful Lewis Black is. Appreciate the recommendations always. Books, movies etc. Bring him back for wine night.
Fantastic episode, gentlemen.👏Lewis Black is an absolute legend. Appreciate the nod to Craig Ferguson. He most definitely doesn't get the praise he deserves.
one of my first favorite stand ups was Lewis, he had me cackling every other sentence. the guy can say something that isn't even that funny but his delivery is incredible and makes it hilarious.
WHAT A LEGENDARY UNEXPECTED GUEST FOR THE PODCAST!
Probably one of their best episode and guest. It was just awesome all around

That would be epic! Ive gotten to see Lewis and Dave live but never Mitch...
You're a lucky prick. Jealous is a understatement. 😂😂
What a great memory, and experience.
Mark and Sam making Lewis laugh is the wholesome content I needed today.
I love the thought of an alcoholic (aka me) calling better help and asking for help with alcoholism and using the promo code "drunk"
