Ah, the days when Olivia Coleman would quite happily take the role of “Kitchen Sink” if it paid a days wage and there was a good craft services table on offer.
It was the dodo that had no natural predators, so when sailors shot them, the noise made the other birds curious, and they headed in the direction of the guns.
Pimm's is a gin-based fruity liqueur (though whisky, vodka, brandy, rum and tequila versions also exist) usually mixed with lemonade and traditionally drunk by posh people in England during the summer. Personally I find it revolting, but I guess some people like it (others I am sure drink it just to make an impression). As I said, it's very much a class-based drink, though. An eccentric French acquaintance of mine once tried to order it when we were in a pub in Newcastle and almost got his head kicked in- the US equivalent would be something like going into a biker bar in Tennessee and asking for a Campari and lime...
Actually, the sketch isn't so far-fetched either. Pimm's No.3 (the brandy-based one) is usually referred to as the Winter Cup, and served with warm apple juice instead of lemonade
Odd to dislike a live studio audience so much, just because you can't see them. R4 routinely recorded comedy shows in front of a live audience (pre-covid). R4 comedies visit the Edinburgh Fringe each year, etc, etc. I doubt it's 'added' laughter tbh.
@@ammnoydb4015 my assumption is that it's a mix of real and added laughter, most shows with a studio audience still use fake laughter to prop up the effect
I'd go for some chilled mulled wine, not gonna lie.

That was fantastic to read.
I'm going to copy paste this and pretend I made it up.
The flightless birds bit really reminded me of "A Bit of Fry and Laurie" - in a good way.
DrZaius3141 there is no way something can remind you of Fry and Laurie in a bad day, is there?
Very similar to the Control and Tony voices.
I quite fancy a glass of Christmas Pimms now.
I wish they sold Pim's in the US year-round.
6:20ish. As a resident of Aotearoa, I can testify that Whittakers Chocolate Kiwis are delicious
youre da man James
No it's you da man
having discovered aperol last summer, it’s all i drink now, whatever the time of year 😆
Pimms should be borage, not mint.
who is the guy in the blue sweater?
Was it a swot analysis?
This is so true. My shower used to be an absolute beach... Hot and cold switching every 60 seconds
ohhh I do love a Pimms cup tho....
What is a pim? ^^
Pimm's is an herbal liqueur, not well known stateside.

Often drunk by posh people in the summer, no one actually likes it, not even posh people lol
@@NidgeOSullivan Pims is better (in my opinion) if you dilute with ginger ale rather than lemonade, I do enjoy both though
Is it sorta like Campari?
Nah, Campari is bitter, pims is sweet and fruitier
What are "pims"? K.x.

@@kimberleyhitzel5878 No worries! Happy to help
the added laughter for the radio parts reminds me why radio is shit.

How do people find the dystopian shower scene funny
MC Intricacy because it’s bizarre but kind of matches the reality of some stereotypes of what showers do that are annoying.
@@Dude0000 so to be funny it has to be relatable?
@@EmceeIntricacy it’s one thing that can be helpful, because funny is subjective.
@@EmceeIntricacy yes, some things won't be funny If you can't relate to the story In some way.
They didn’t use the flushing water closet, but didn’t really need to after all.
