This is every time I get a home delivery from Asda and they offer me substitutions.
A long time ago, was listening to the audio tape on a Walkman (yes, it's scary to think I had one!) on a flight somewhere. A stewardess mistakes my stifled laughter and tears for being sacred of flying and holds my hand to comfort me, I looked at her, put my headphones on her then she smiled and nodded. It's a shame the flight wasn't to "CAIRO!!!" 😅😅😅

Pimm's is a gin-based fruity liqueur (though whisky, vodka, brandy, rum and tequila versions also exist) usually mixed with lemonade and traditionally drunk by posh people in England during the summer. Personally I find it revolting, but I guess some people like it (others I am sure drink it just to make an impression). As I said, it's very much a class-based drink, though. An eccentric French acquaintance of mine once tried to order it when we were in a pub in Newcastle and almost got his head kicked in- the US equivalent would be something like going into a biker bar in Tennessee and asking for a Campari and lime...
Actually, the sketch isn't so far-fetched either. Pimm's No.3 (the brandy-based one) is usually referred to as the Winter Cup, and served with warm apple juice instead of lemonade

the added laughter for the radio parts reminds me why radio is shit.
Odd to dislike a live studio audience so much, just because you can't see them. R4 routinely recorded comedy shows in front of a live audience (pre-covid). R4 comedies visit the Edinburgh Fringe each year, etc, etc. I doubt it's 'added' laughter tbh.
@@ammnoydb4015 my assumption is that it's a mix of real and added laughter, most shows with a studio audience still use fake laughter to prop up the effect
