- first episode in its entirety of the fourth season. Welcome to the nice, non argumentative part of youtube where only humour and nicely flavoured biscuits are served with a comforting cup of cynicism.
These guys deserve another show.
Agreed.
+ExBruinsFan they're making a new sitcom now :)
any idea what its about?
That Mitchell and Webb smell?
Josh Brown
Performed live in a theatre, presumably.
To be followed by That MItchell and Webb Touch. I think I will pass on that one.
The look on Robert's face when she says the 'I don't know what you want anymore!" line is priceless!
2024 still watching 👍 FANTASTIC
He didn't pay for the sex trophy!
When you're that good at screwing people over...
No man has the gall to charge the world's sex champion for anything
The Garnier sketch was on another level
I can't help hearing the word Laboratoire without cracking up.
it was nice to see David wearing causal clothing on set.
I thought it was quite thought provoking .....all that money wasted on silly shampoo research.......
But then I wear "The Secret" by Antonio Banderas..... (and Head and Shoulders does fer me......Two bottles in the shower? Not me boyo.)
It's good that we have the quiz broadcast, at least it takes our minds off them and not always thinking of them trying to get in and eat us. Always remain indoors.
Oh if you only knew, my past bro.
was the solution for the quiz "the event" or did i miss some hints on what was on the outside? i didnt really get what was going on there (english is my third learned language). can somebody explain pls?
@@rumpelpumpel7687 The Quiz Broadcast is a satire of post-cataclysm stories. "The Event" is just the unexplained cause of it.
@@theradgegadgie6352 thx
Blessed be the regulations.
The opening dialogue just oozes Fry and Laurie -- as does a lot of their humour. :D
Yep. They’re not as good as the coat hanger for Mrs Thatcher bit though
what made me laugh was the side gag that the game show food prize was the Didlidi snacks from earlier
I can’t believe I never noticed that! 🤭😆
15:50 love how david mitchell delivers the ham-fisted drama in that scene entirely, but the last line in particlar cracks me up
"but i cant... because im SHIT"
The layers in that sketch are just *chef's kiss*
The Caesar sketch is my favorite sketch of all times! No matter how many times I watch it it makes me roll with laughter:) It's one of the cleverest and best acted pieces of comedy I've ever watched.
Caesar is listening...
I thought you were Caesar?
No.
LOL. the look on Webb's face when he says "no" is just priceless:)
and much better on radio!
The Two Ronnies would be proud to see a sketch like that, a lot of their comedy was heavily dialogue-oriented. "Thinking Man's comedy" to use a now dated and un-PC term.
That one and the "Who let the Dog's out" are an amazing ballet of words. It is almost like listening to music.
@@avegaplata I agree; the radio version was a bit better. Particularly in the device David uses to make the sound when Caesar gets it wrong: in the radio version it was a weird sort of duck-like quack, rather than a recorder or whatever that was.
@@krashdwhy do the right wing nutcases trot out the sneering "pc" when they dont understand something?
In the angry couple sketch, the venom in the woman’s eyes is.. incredible! Terrific acting 👌
Well, they're married in real life.
Seriously though, the "Third Person" bit is pure genius!
It's the first person bit
1 gram of gold: £33
Ford Mondeo: £18100
Nigerarians "attacked" by the Ku Klux Klan: Priceless
Mitchell's Yorkshire accent is spot on!!
Sad the BBC took their advice.
But then we got Peep Show from Channel 4
@@philipocarroll ...and they didn't force us to pay for it.
@@FatNorthernBigot "Force"
scientific sketch seems so truthful to me that it chills more than tickles...
I'm beginning to suspect David Mitchell just made this series to wear silly wigs
21:50 The new English Fallout game is looking good!
OMG the jail/interpreter sketch is freaking hysterical. Webb looks like Harpo Marx.
"pacifically bans physical violence" is actually quite a clever (and correct) pun
Oh yes that’s quite good I missed that
The most underrated show on the BBC in the last 10 years. Such a shame they didn't make more series :( Ah well, NEW PEEP SHOW THIS YEAR :D
what are other good BBC shows
nvm, I'm not confident in the quality of your tastes
@@crieverytim lol not if that username is anything to go by!
@@SineN0mine3 😂
The only "sex trophy" I've ever won involved a trip to the clinic.
so she was dirty then
I've seen a lot of QI and WILTY and David definitely engages with those shows regarding his own creative thought process. For instance when he discusses the bleak future of television personalities after a nuclear war and how he would rather die than have to wait for humanity to regain an equilibrium with his current role as a team captain on would I lie to you.
The resemblance to 'A Bit of Fry and Laurie' is absolutely incredible. Mitchell to Fry and Webb to Laurie, the opening in the studio and even that sketch reminds me of their Shoe Shop sketch a bit.
Excellent stuff.
_"Mr Dalliard - we've been activated!"_
Robert Webb as a frustrated TV director is hilarious.
This is _MY LABORATOIRE_ !!
That Caesar sketch slayed me!! So good
It's even much better on the radio 4 version which preceded it.
Until seeing the whole show together I never noticed the continuity between Didldidi and Remain Indoors.
Also the Caesar sketch reminded me of Abbott and Costello's "Who's on First." Fantastic. =D
Seems it was very much inspired by that one. An absolute classic.
Hoo's on first!
Well that's what I'm askin ya!
And I'm telling you - Hoo is on first!
Well I don't know yet, you won't tell me...
that Caesar sketch was brilliant!
that ceaser skit was great.
+Sharky Just about to write the same thing. Was quite Monty Python-esque. :)
Love the happy family sketch. Just another love filled day.
Love the Laboratoire Garnier sketch. Change your shampoo, change your life!
I've seen couples with new children and that sketch was pretty accurate.
As opposed to couples with old children
@@DeathnoteBB Or old couples with their dog's children.
Idontknowwhatyouwantanymore...
Given my Latin teacher used the "Romanes eunt domus" scene as an excuse to screen Life of Brian in class for a week, I suppose he now shows the entire season of this show as education on the etymology of 'ignoramus'
Love how the event sketch is just daily life now
"Woo, sir"
"Are you going to be sick?"
"No, sir"
As well as the acronym problem, Robert's character also says, 'will you stop shooting people for saying things wrong?' He thus uses an adjective rather than an adverb - it should be 'wrongly' or 'incorrectly' - David fails to punish him.
Actually 'Wrong' can come as an adverb
sorry, you're wrongly.
The misuse of adjectives as adverbs has been going on for a long time - wrong/wrongly, quick/quickly (Tony Hancock in the 1950s) and good/well (Paul McCartney in 1973). Still, that's no excuse for not shooting the miscreants with a handgun.
Wrongly would have been right, but wrong is also right. If he'd said "will you stop shooting people for wrong saying things" that would definitely be wrong and should always be wrongly if you want to be rightly.
That last sketch is one of the most perfect things I have ever had the pleasure of watching.
*most* perfect? ... you just used a comparative on an absolute, binary concept... *bang*
The delivery of that line where she calls him a dick... Just too perfect.
When Garnier takes off his cap. 😂😂😂😂
Thanks so much for the upload! Never in my life did I think I'd hear David Mitchell say "Garnier Fructis" Lol.
25:37 to 26:44 - Best sketch (or part of a sketch) in the video. Keeley Hawes in a David Mitchell sketch? ONE OF THE MOST EPIC THINGS EVER!
24:14 The way he says "I need an answer" fucking kills me. Its the perfect mix out of sleazy showman and the fact that he finds it hillarious.
That bit about the actors was on point, sometimes the director thinks that he is being clear but things don't get through.
Did anyone notice that he never paid for that trophy?
Well it was an award you don't pay for an award..
Plus sex champion pays in favours
This is my LABORITOIRE!
"And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind, and the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places, And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains"
love the end sketch, so relatatabble.
"I wish i could show u how that feels. But i cant... because im shit" *guy falls over*
Ive never laughed so hard ever XD
Lol nice video description :P
Brilliant upload and awesome description!
Love the Garnier Laboratoire sketch
He likes the Caesar joke.
Abbot and Costello would be proud of the Caesar bit
No doubt. 5:40 is THE BEST SKETCH in the entire video!!!!! HILARIOUS!
1:55 "The filth in particular was getting to be a complete load of f*cking balls!"
i love these guys. peepshow is hilarious too
@ 7:57 David misses an 'I' from Ceaser. Mal is outraged at this mistake paid for by license payer's money. I'm glad...sorry...he's glad he's not one of them!
I want the iBag, looks like so much fun
the garnier sketch killed me. that ending.:D
I am from England (U.K) .. AND I LOVE THIS !! Me and my friends, we sit around marvelling at the legendary English humour !!! WE TRY BUT ..
I can only HOPE one day my humble, aspiring nation can aspire to this level of, as you British, brilliant humourists say, 'taking the piss' !.... (LOL) .. someday ... maybe ..
You are British and you aspire to be British? Well I don't believe you could have fucked up that comment much more than you did...
21:17 is like trying to work with highschoolers for a play 😭
8:58 - This is too real. 😨
23:20 What was the word? The event?
"This is MY laboratoire!"
I love the two parents who ‘middle’ 🖕one another at the earliest opportunity.
The Hennimore sketch is very, very close to a Viz cartoon which I think was called Helpful Herbert.
“THIS IS MYYY LABORITOIR AND WHAT I SAY GOES” 🤣🤣🤣🤣
near to be on netflix asap !!!!
Hahahah the automatic captions are hilarious! Could almost be part of the show!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! We don't get this show in Denmark... Spread the gospel of Mitchell and Webb! :)
Very Montypythonesque. Loving it
HENIMORE!
HHH isn't an acronym, it's an initialism. too few were shot
David Mitchell says 'over exaggerate' in one of his soap boxes. Bang.
it's wrongly, not wrong. He should have shot Webb 3rd
you're most welcome, you brilliant paradigm of the good internet
haha almost missed that skit reference
This is the perfect continuation from where "A Bit of Fry & Laurie" left off.
Was uploaded on my BIRTHDAY!!!!! :D
From Wikipedia: "There is no universal agreement on the precise definition of the various terms [acronym & initialism] ...Although the term acronym is widely used to describe any abbreviation formed from initial letters, most dictionaries define acronym to mean "a word" in its original sense, while some include additional senses attributing to acronym the same meaning as that of initialism"
So David's not necessarily wrong.
Thanks you for sharing
Remember if you shoot me, I won't be able to upload more episodes, or if I am, it'll be extremely creepy for you, knowing that I'm dead and yet so worried to finish my only positive task on this earth, that I'm keeping an internet provider from the crypt. Also imagine my descriptions with those videos: "heres this episode for you to enjoy while maggots eat my eyes ands I slowly decompose. BTW, I want to thank Jelylscool for shooting me because of a typo, Im really much better now!
That last sketch was just sheer brilliance.
But....if the same rules were applied to RUclips comments....we'd be extinct by now. Oh Dear!
I love how they can introduce Keely to Martin Freeman because of Bruiser XD
OK...I don't quite get everything on the Garnier thingy.
I remember the Garnier and L'oreal commericals that presented everything with..."sciency".
But why the British Bloke.
Remove yourself from the laboratoire at once!
Hennimore!!!!!
for "shooting stars" was the advert that came up right after David shot everybody
I think Mitchell and Webb are Cambridge footlights alumni...or is it alumnuses? Hence the Fry and Laurie influence/tribute. Maybe.
I love this episode so much lmao.
That Caesar sketch had me literally gasping for air. You brits conquer comedy sometimes... kind of like how you conquered most of the world at one point...my faves.
oh....he's helping out (thrusting furiously) :D LMAO
you, sir, are a gent. Thankyou for making youtube a slightly less desperately unfunny place
Oh my word, David Mitchell is secretly Ross Noble! I knew it!
What DO they say about badminton players?
They.... they always have their eyes on the (shuttle)cock?
The third person Caesar was fucking hilarious
You realize, don't you, that you spelled "Caesar" correctly. This might be enough to get you banned from the Internet.
The iBag commercial uses Calibri. That's funny!
i bag is genius
