@@ellayak Because if the roller is dry then it doesnt have enough paint. That way streaks are born and the wall just looks trash. Youll need more coats than usual and more paint is being used. Do more paint more money its just not efficient.
Don't care what anyone says walls look much better when you turn roller sideways and go over your brush cut in at ceiling and base instead of stopping 3 to 6 inches short
I use a 4” roller to back roll my cuts as I do them. Do 4’, roll with the roller as close to the wall as I can get, then do another 4’ and repeat. It comes out way better imo I also smash right into the 2” tape on the base. I’ll roll 4-6” up from it, work my paint out, and then when my nap isn’t sopping wet I’ll work some of it down to the tape. It works like a charm
That roller cover is burned out by the second wall, as a painter this shit is frustrating cause new guys that get hired think this is the right way of doing it. Never about speed, quality first, speed comes with experience.
I know this is 5 months old... but that roller cover is fine. I wouldn't have swung the full roller over the floor, but besides that the drops are in a good spot and everything is covered. The video is still deceiving though, as all the prep work that went into it was not as fast as this. He should probably slow down a little to avoid splatter on the crown, but again this won't wear out a roller.
The sleve will be fine ...but the napp is for outside walls ... not I side ... it will leave a stippled Finnish...not flat ... so if this is a house that anyone cares about the standard ...it's no good
For everyone asking what kind of roller this is.. it's one not to buy. These are meant for floors. So if you still want to buy them go to the hardware store and ask them for floor rollers and say i want to paint the walls and see the dumb look you will get.
Your not supposed to push on the roller. Let the paint and roller do the work. Nice even coat. Just glide it on. Takes a little longer but the results speak for themselves. And your back will thank you.
Mas esse rolo de pintar num seca não??? Pintar uma parede inteira com uma molhada no rolo kkkk. Eu Pinto aqui em casa, eu sei pintar... Esse rolo deve ser mágico viu kkkk. Abraço!!
You hear that rough sound ? That the roller “dry rolling” As he rolls up and down he’s creating “holidays” where paint has been taken back off with the roller. You know why? Because paint is a glue Is an adhesive with pigment and unless you dip it back into the paint, is gonna start doing what is design for and start “sticking “ back onto whatever you pass over it Rookies
Absolutely no paint & decorators roll walls like this & believe me I know I’ve been doing new build plots (houses) here in England 🏴 for over 22 years & the stipple/orange peel the roller would leave doing it this way would be horrendous…! Also there’s no need to have the tray so far away from the walls you’re rolling.
There’s something fishy about this. There’s gotta be some kind of flaw with that paint that makes it not worth it or else everyone would be painting the same way. And NOONE paints like that
@Laura Orefice that can be contested. The methodology is wrong though even for a base coat. These faster using wider stroke videos are pointless and giving an appearance that speed equals quality.
Look closely and I bet you there’s orange peel everywhere , no one rolls like that . Applying all that paint and then dry rolling it over and over again , removing it all
The wall is going to have uneven sheen. Heavy coat in the beginning and he's pushing really hard to get the same coverage at the end of the wall. This is why we get so many painters saying that the paint doesn't touch up when they have to go back and touch up half the house. Yeah, I work at a paint store and see it often.
I will, because I’m a painter in cheap rentals where everything has to be done fast, quality doesn’t really matter and this will make me money. If I would listen to these comments, I’d pay money out of my pocket just to be a painter.
