I've been thinking about something similar as well. If possible though, I would make mine mostly out of natural locally quarried stone. Like farm homes in Italy.
Everyone thinks about doing a cabin or dugout type house and has criticism on how he built his cabin, but HE'S THE ONLY ONE OF EVERYONE WHO HAS A COMMENT THAT DID IT!!!!! LOOKS VERY COOL TO ME. The only thing i wonder is what country he lives in? Thanks for sharing the adventure.

A beautiful place you built there. Really, incredible. The best dugout I have seen so far on RUclips. Made with so much though and love for detail. Functional and beautiful. Also, all the animals you managed to capture on camera (love the weazle which makes acrobatics to get the piece of food hanging from the branch. Really cool). Upvote. Just one thing: All this plastic will lie in this forest for centuries to come and it will over time be shredded into microplastics... Aren't there like "traditional" ways of creating a drainage?

Very well done. That is something I and my family are planning to build, once we purchace land. Building underground is very economical regarding indoor temperature control.
You don’t need to purchase land it was stolen from Native tribes anyway.

Dome windows would have been better to install. This way you don't get melted snow or condensation build up on your window. The rain and snow will run off causing no water issues.

That’s pretty hard on a chainsaw to crank it and start cutting immediately. I found out the hard way went through two chainsaws in basically two years. Always good to let the idle for a minute or two to allow the cylinder to warm up and expand before cranking hard on it. Without that warm up period the cylinder walls get scored and worm way faster than they need to. Hope that’s helpful

Go get yourself an old motor home refrigerator, small one. Cut a hole on either side of the step entry way, before your door, make it large enough put the fridge in, bury it like you have everything else. The food will stay cold, you wont have to walk very far to get it. Why put your food storage so far away if your going to cook food inside your underground home? Hungry animals come for the smell of it cooked or not.

Get a blank canvas ...and start creating a bit of art each time you come to stay. It can be a work in progress much the same as your home in the woods.
Your cabin is really nice. It would be a great place to go in case of emergencies. You wouldn't have any problem with meat as there is plenty of wildlife in the woods. Looks like there are some serious flying buzzing insects as well. That would really creep me out. Great build😊😊😊❤

The fact is our world is headed for a collapse. Most people are walking around with blinders on and no matter how bad it gets there going to wake up and life as we know it wil be over. I have been planning and preparing for years. I built a concrete and rebar underground shelter big enough for 5. I bought a us surplus generator plus wind and solar me and my wife garden and can and we have a plentiful chicken coop that produces a plentiful egg store. The main think to take from your video is to plan for the worst and pray for the best. I enjoy your hard work and video of your building.
You sound very well prepared. But beware, that very nice shelter would become someone else's shelter quickly if you don't have enough protection. What if 4 or 5 men come upon your place while you are gardening or tending to your chickens? Personal security is the biggest issue after the Collapse you are preparing for. Because in that scenario there won't be any police deterrent. Guys with guns = the new law. If you are not prepared to deal with invaders, all you've done is to build a great shelter for other people. Remember, if you fort up, you can easily be burned out or smoked out. The only way to be relatively safe is if your shelter is almost totally hidden, so that people passing by won't even know you have that house hidden underground.

@@Ironfangzu that's some extreme planning lol...best option would be hidden CCTV around the perimeter with motion sensors that alerts you 2 mins ahead. Then pick them off 1 by 1.

Very nice! After the nuclear bombs explode, and everywhere you have rampaging hordes who want to rob you of your stored up supplies, a super low profile shelter like this would be just the thing. A few hours of preparation and this place would be completely invisible. They can't rob or kill you if they can't find your hideout.

похожую Лесные делали, но они посередине землянки маленький колодец делали чтобы воду вычерпывать, которая по весне может подтопить землянку...
у меня песчаная почва и грунтовые воды глубоко, весной никаких проблем с водой не было, все сухо
